I do reviews of all sorts of things and people get so bent out of shape.   I am a fan of many things but I am a fanatic of none. I can take criticism of something I like and just accept that not everyone likes what I like. I made a couple of recordings where I think I really set off a couple of fanatical fan-bases…oops. I want people to know I love the Dragon Ball series. There have been high points and low points but as a whole I love the series all the way back to the beginning. Dragon Ball Super: Broly answered a few questions about old stuff but it didn’t deviate from the typical Dragon Ball series mantra. Saiyans are strong as hell but dumb as hell too except for Vegita his only problem is pride.  Bottom line is the fight scenes give watchers what they expect from a Dragon Ball movie. Now this is where I am torn because while everyone has said on their different reviews how great the story was, I really wasn’t impressed. It was average as best.  The series of events that brought Broly into the series were all rather shallow after we got past the recap of historical events. Bottom line is while this was truly enjoyable to watch and I recommend it for all to enjoy it wasn’t good enough in my humble nerdy opinion to watch in a movie theater. I don’t care how big the IMAX screen is or how good it sounds it really

Well, M. Night Shyamalan you have done it again or didn’t do it depending on your opinion of his films. He is either a genius or just clueless. Unbreakable came out 19 years ago and it was a wild ride. Split came out two years ago and it was a surprise that showed us they exist in the same continuity. Now we arrive at Glass. M. Night has been quoted as downplaying superhero films, he was rumored to have turned down directing opportunities for Marvel and DC films. His own superhero universe was created with Unbreakable and it really skirted the fine line between are there really superheroes and villains in the world?  I am not going to recap Unbreakable or Split but what I will say it isn’t a must to see both of these but it helps in order to get a full feel for the majority of the story. The story is solid all the way through and has the feel of a comic book in its composition and in traditional M. As many people know parts of the U.S. Government is shut down and it has affected many families including my own. I am still going to work but my households’ funds have taken a big hit. It may change the dynamic of what I review and when but it won’t stop what I do. Continuing with my coverage of the DC Universe I took a good look at Reign of the Supermen and I am one of the more critical individuals when it comes to superhero animation but I am very bias in favor of Warner Bros animation outside of the very kiddie stuff on Cartoon Network.  This is a direct sequel to the straight to DVD release of the Death of Superman and as someone who was around when the original comic books hit the comic shops back in the 90s. This storyline in the animated feature is pretty damn close to the original but definitely with updates to make it fit in the New 52 narrative that the majority of these characters are based on.  As always, I am happy with the animation style of Warner Bros when it comes to the straight to video depiction of Justice league properties. I cannot spoil stuff it is not in my nature but to see the four faux Supermen interact takes me back to the debut of each of these now iconic characters (Superboy, The Eradicator, Cyborg Superman, and Steel).  It r

So many things to watch so little time to watch them. That can sum up what I am up against in doing these reviews and commentary. I was able to finally finish season one of DC Universe’s original series the Titans. I know I may be a little late but I had to absorb this trailer a little bit.  This movie like its predecessor Get Out comes from the mind of Director Jordan Peele and I really feel he is turning into today’s king of horror a big step from the sketch comedy of MadTv and Key & Peele. The bar is set very high since Get Out became the smash hit and the stereotypes from comedy sketches saying African American horror movies would be really short because we would have no parts of the exploratory foolishness that many of these movies have. Many people have asked what I look at when you are reviewing movies.   I have said in previous videos I look in two separate ways:  #1 as a fan and #2 for personal entertainment value.  Now everyone looks at my numerical ratings and they flip out because they think it is an indicator of the movie being bad (well it is a little) but the numbers actually mean something: 1 – Avoid this movie at all costs. This is a movie that will be given away as a gift from small children who can only purchase videos from the bargain bin or buried on a streaming service/becomes an HBO/SHO/MAX/STARZ main feature as soon as it leaves the theater. 2 – This Movie is a rental/Streaming choice only.  If you planned on seeing this in the theater don’t.  I can think of so many ways to spend even matinee prices.   You may be entertained but will regret it like leaving the club at 2 in the morning with what you thought was a 10 and you know the rest of the story… 3 – This movie is middle of th

 Netflix’s Bandersnatch a movie where you make the decisions premiered and though it wasn’t as hyped up as Birdbox got its fair share of publicity so I decided to check it out. Set in 1984 it is about a video game designer who is having his decisions made by an unknown entity (you) from the 21st century. The idea as novel as it may be disappointed me on many levels because there were moments based on the decisions, I was making the story didn’t remain cohesive. When you branched off to a dead end the movie started over and fast forwarded to your last successful decision point.  I really like Black Mirror because it takes me back to the old Twilight Zone and Outer Limits style of shows but some episodes are great some are not as I said in my older Black Mirror Review on YouTube.    Rotten Tomatoes smashed it. One of my favorite movie critics smashed it. But as a long-time comic book fan what did I think of DCEU’s latest release that seemed to be doing well in China? OK I hope that what I am about to say doesn’t spoil the movie for everyone but I will not share major details.  The Good – I can say the action scenes are awesome, fight scenes were well choreographed and the edits were very fun to look at.  Glad they reference justice League but the connection was very loose. After this any other connection to previous DCEU films is long gone. All characters looked like their comic book counterparts the costume designers out did themselves and I give them a standing ovation.   The Bad – there were many moments you can tell actors were on a green screen not to the level of the infamous Justice League mustache debacle but very noticeable. The villain Black Manta was so shallow and one dimensional in my humble opinion. Too focused and smart for no damn reason. What

It has been a while since I have touched on the importance of kids being able to see characters that relate to them in media. The stereotypical portrayals of African American or any ethnic group but to see the main character going through many of the issues many young kids go through but aren’t highly publicized. I don’t want to spoil the film but to see the influences different adults can have on a young person’s development. This becomes more than a basic superhero origin story but a combination of that and a coming of age and into his own story. Jason Momoa is a habitual line stepper. During the promotional tour for justice league Jason Momoa was the guy saying F—Marvel and how much better the Justice League film was. In the weeks leading up to the Aquaman premiere the Aquabro himself has been stirring the pot when it comes to the DC vs Marvel rivalry. The Amazon Prime Member preview has already happened and the initial reviews are that the movie is good, OK when it works you can brag just a little. This past week we have seen the Avengers: Endgame trailer and it set the internet on fire with 289 Million Views in 24 hours. WOW just WOW. It has taken the number one spot for that statistic and as an added note 4 out of the top 10 most-viewed online trailers in the first 24 hours belong to Marvel Studios films. Video games saw a new trailer for Mortal Kombat 11 now don’t get me wrong I am all for MK over the years but maybe it’s time to hang it up? I bought the last one and I even had the Superhero version Injustice but there are only so many was to break a Ninja’s bones….IJS Aquaman is getting ready to hit theaters and I am actually excited. I think it will have tough competition over the holidays no doubt but I am hearing initial reviews and I expect to be pleasantly surprised. Now I am planning on going on the 21st even though I could see it early because of the Amazon Prime promotion, and I have a message for movie goers and superhero film fans: Please be mindful that women are flocking to see th

The endgame has begun. Marvel has dropped the Avengers 4 Trailer dropped out of the blue and with this being the 1st trailer it is 100% pure tease. I can’t wait until April but this really shows us how far our heroes have fallen and that they are at their all time low.
