Part 129 - Stephanie Seneff, PhD - Is Glyphosate Slowly Killing Us?
07/07/2021 Duración: 01h26minHey friends, thanks for tuning into Peak Human. I’m Brian Sanders, the creator of the much-anticipated Food Lies film. Things are going well with the post production so thank you for your continued support on Indiegogo and your patience. My guest today is Dr. Stephanie Seneff who has been studying the effects of glyphosate for almost 10 years now. She has put together TONS of science about why it’s bad for you and the environment, even though it’s marketed as safe. Of course Monsanto has led you and regulators to believe this. The tricky part here is that it supposedly doesn’t affect human cells, but it does affect all the billions of bacteria in your microbiome and the soil biome. She’ll get into all the details in this episode so listen on, my friend! Stephanie Seneff, PhD is a senior research scientist at MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab. Her new book, Toxic Legacy, explores the harmful effects of the herbicide glyphosate on our health and the environment. Her book is backed by shocki

Part 128 - Dr. Stephen Hussey MS, DC on a New Paradigm Of Heart Disease
30/06/2021 Duración: 01h33minWe actually are filming a bit more for the Food Lies documentary in a few weeks at a great ranch in Oklahoma. I can’t stress enough the lengths we are going to to make this the absolute best film possible. We need a mic-dropper, jaw-dropper, kale shake dropping film. ANything less won’t work. It won’t reach the mainstream. It won’t reach Joe Cheeto out in Ohio. It won’t reach the vegan in the coffee shop with the soy latte in Santa Monica. It won’t reach the hilarious jokesters at the Harvard Chan School of Public Health with their comical EAT Lancet funded diet for planetary health with more added sugar and 3x the seed oils than meat. Well it probably will never reach those bought and paid for fake scientists anyway. But we are going to make it that good where someone there might watch it and realize they’re living a lie and will quit their Kellogg’s and Coca-cola funded position. Really interesting new paradigm on how the heart works and how atherosclerosis and other problems developed based on a bunch of r

Part 127 - Dr. Pran Yoganathan on Gut Health & Chronic Disease, Human Gut Evolution, and Plant vs. Animal Food
23/06/2021 Duración: 01h21minHello, everyone! Thanks for sharing this podcast and giving it a review on the podcast app or itunes. I’m Brian Sanders and I’ll encourage you to also work your way back and listen to all these episodes of Peak Human or start back at episode 1. I’d additionally encourage you to check out http://NoseToTail.org to check out our grass finished meats, tallow-based body care products, and more. YouTube version: https://youtu.be/jM1u5Mtnh8o Today I’m talking to Dr. Pran Yoganathan who is a Gastroenterologist and Gastrointestinal endoscopist based in Sydney. He aims to empower his patients to embark on a journey of self-healing using the philosophy of “let food be thy medicine”. Dr. Pran has a special interest in conditions such as Gastro-oesophageal Reflux (GORD), Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and abdominal bloating. He takes a very thorough approach to resolve these issues using dietary manipulation In conjunction with an accredited highly qualified dietician rather than resorting to long-term medications. Part 126 - Dr. Ben Bikman & Dr. Ted Naiman Discuss Competing Ideas on All Things Health (AKA Ben & Ted’s Excellent Adventure)
15/06/2021 Duración: 01h29minWelcome back, friends! I’m Brian Sanders and this is the Peak Human podcast. I’m also the owner of NoseToTail.org where you can get all kinds of properly raised meats and the creator of the Food Lies film. We continue to work on the film daily and are just as desperate to finish it and get out to the world as you are. I know it’s taking longer than expected, but we are making something truly special and there are a lot of factors we’re dealing with. It will be worth it, trust me. This episode today is very special and a long time in the making. I got the top 2 audience favorites on one podcast. This nutrition stuff is so complex, it’s never enough to get one side of the story so I thought I could at least get 2. I try to stay out of giving my opinions in this one. Perhaps 3 would be a crowd. We talk about so many interesting topics such as the carbohydrate-insulin model of obesity, the alternatives to this. The personal fat threshold, the insulin model of disease which is separate from how one becomes overwei

Part 125 - Stephan Van Vliet on the Cutting Edge Science Proving Meat is a Health Food
09/06/2021 Duración: 01h31minHello everyone! Welcome back to the Peak HUman podcast, I’m Brian Sanders and I hope everyone is doing well and eating a Sapien diet and living that Sapien lifestyle. I guess I’ll clarify what that is. Many people are already doing it without realizing it - I’m just trying to give it a name. It’s really just what seems to be the natural human diet. It’s a framework and isn’t the same for everyone and changes based on many factors such as where you live to where you are in your life or health journey. It’s based on whole foods, ancestral principles and food preparation techniques. It focuses on the best, most bioavailable, nutrient dense nutrition which is from animal foods. It incorporates the least toxic plant foods. It’s not carnivore, keto, paleo, or Whole 30 but has elements of these. I hate to have labels but none of the other dietary labels fit what I believe is a pretty basic framework for human nutrition. The lifestyle component is big as well and includes all the natural ways humans have always staye

Part 124 - Brad Marshall on Why We Store Fat & What To Do About It
03/06/2021 Duración: 01h40minWelcome back, friends! I’m Brian Sanders and this is the Peak Human podcast where I talk to the world’s leading health experts, doctors, researchers, and regenerative agriculture experts about how to live your best life. Please start back at episode one or at least try to work your way backwards - each episode is a valuable piece of the puzzle. Please also give this podcast a review on the Apple podcast app so we can reach more people. Today I had the pleasure of speaking with Brad Marshall who’s a great guy who raises low PUFA hogs and has a lot to say about PUFAs vs. saturated fat. Brad adds to the great lineup of guests talking about the dangers of these unstable polyunsaturated fatty acids. He’ll get deep into the science on why they are bad for humans and why they are what’s to blame for many (or most!) health problems and chronic disease. You won’t want to miss this one! Brad’s work is based on his understanding of molecular biology, his love of food history and cooking and his experience in agriculture

Part 123 - Keith Littlewood on Fixing Thyroid Problems, Raising Your Body Temperature, Having a Higher Metabolism, Putting back on Weight, and Sleeping Better
26/05/2021 Duración: 01h28minHello everyone! I’m Brian Sanders and welcome back to the Peak Human podcast. Don’t forget to start back at episode 1. This is that kind of podcast. It’s not something I do each week with random people to create content so I can advertise people’s products. It’s a health journey I’ve been on for years where I talk to the best and brightest from around the world. The only products or services I talk about to support the show are my own that I have created with the best people I can find to provide great value to you and your friends & family as well as my own. Those are at http://NoseToTail.org But onto my guest today. This may be a hard one for some people to handle who are triggered easily by differing opinions. I talk with Keith today about adding carbs back into your diet. Many people have found so much success removing them from their diet, this may sound counterintuitive. However, some people may be having problems after going too low carb for too long. If you’re not one of these people, then feel fr

Part 122 - Nicolette Hahn Niman on Defending Beef - Uncovering Why it’s Blamed for Health & Environmental Problems
12/05/2021 Duración: 01h29minWelcome back everyone! So sorry for the little break in the action. I’m doing a lot of things these days - some might say too many. We got back from filming on the east coast and an amazing event with Dr. Bill Schindler at his food lab. You can catch the presentation by Dr. Cate Shanahan on the Food Lies youtube channel. For new listeners I’m Brian Sanders and this was for my documentary Food Lies and this film tour should be our last. We still don’t have a release date for the film, but we’re in post-production and working on it daily. My guest today is the great Nicolette Hahn Niman who is a California rancher, lawyer, and writer. She has authored two books about sustainable livestock farming: Righteous Porkchop: Finding a Life and Good Food Beyond Factory Farms, and Defending Beef: The Case for Sustainable Meat Production. I read her book years ago, but she’s just releasing a new and improved version that I got a pre-release copy of. It is available July 13th but you can pre-order it on https://www.chelsea

Part 121 - Marty Kendall on Protein Confusion, Flawed Rodent Research, Nutrient Density, Satiety, and Insulin
14/04/2021 Duración: 01h30minWe’re back with Marty Kendall, my nutrient density brother from another mother! I’ve been following his work since we recorded our first episode 2.5 years ago and he’s always doing something interesting and informative. We cover a very interesting “scandal” in the rodent nutrition study world. I won’t spoil the details but it really is a shame these researchers took out this certain data, because all the other work they’ve done is spot-on. We also hit all my other favorite topics in this one like nutrient density, satiety, insulin, personal fat threshold, the nutrient leverage hypothesis, and a whole lot more. GET THE MEAT! http://NosetoTail.org GET THE FREE SAPIEN FOOD GUIDE! http://Sapien.org SHOW NOTES [5:40] His background and how he got into the nutrition world. Part 120 - The Datoga, Chagga, and Transition to Village & City Living in Africa - Our Experience in Tanzania & Uganda (w/ Mary Ruddick, CNC)
31/03/2021 Duración: 01h06minHere we are at the end of the 4 part Africa series with my amazing friend Mary Ruddick. If you haven’t listened to the previous 3, I’d suggest going back and starting at the beginning. I’d really recommend doing this for this entire podcast series. It’s designed as an educational journey through the complex, conflicting world that is nutrition, health, food, the environment, and more. This episode covers the rest of our journey including the Datoga tribe, the Chagga on the slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro, and the transition of all the native living populations into the villages and then into the city. It’s a very clear decline in health as they do so. Make sure to watch this video interview on the Food Lies youtube channel to see all the photos and videos from our trip. I went back and added them all in and you’d also get to see Mary’s smiling face as we talk! There’s a bunch of great presentations and videos on the Food Lies youtube channel as well. You can see the Game CHangers DEBUNKED film, the Food Lies trail

Part 119 - The Batwa (Pygmies) of Uganda - What We Learned From Our Time with Them (w/ Mary Ruddick, CNC)
24/03/2021 Duración: 58minHello my friends, it’s time for another episode with the wonderful Mary Ruddick on our journey through Africa. This episode we make it over to Uganda and travel 10 hours to the Bwindi impenetrable forest to visit the Batwa tribe, better known as the Pygmies. This group used to live in the forest and hunt & trap animals and eat all natural foods until 1991 when they were forced off their land by the government. They now have to rely on corn and beans and other crops and are losing their health and their culture. The group we stayed with are mixing in with the other people in the village and are definitely losing their heritage. It was great to visit them while that’s still possible. I don’t know how many more years they’ll be around. You’ll definitely want to listen to this one and hear about the 120 year old great, great, great, grandmother dancing and stomping around with her (youngest) 91 year old daughter. We also got to trek in the forest and hang out with the few remaining mountain gorillas which was

Part 118 - Rob Stuart on Complete Skin Health - Reversing Eczema, Psoriasis, Dermatitis and More w/ Diet & Lifestyle
17/03/2021 Duración: 01h09minHi there, everyone! This is your host Brian Sanders founder of http://Sapien.org, http://NoseToTail.org, and creator of the upcoming Food Lies film! We’re back with a little break from the episodes with Mary on our trip to Africa for an awesome episode on skin health. This is an important topic to many people and should not be missed by anyone. The skin is the largest organ in the body and needs to be cared for like any other organ. Luckily it’s a lot easier to care for because it’s hanging out on the outside. But this makes it hard to take care of because - you guessed it, it’s on the outside. Luckily, like almost everything I cover here on this podcast, you can heal your skin with a good diet. It’s pretty amazing how important your diet is to every system and part of your body. We also talk about some other techniques like cleansing and washing and skin care products. Spoiler alert, the skin care products are made from beef tallow and I have them available on http://NoseToTail.org You can also make your own

Part 117 - The Hadza of Tanzania - What We Learned From Our Time with Them (w/ Mary Ruddick, CNC)
12/03/2021 Duración: 01h02minHello friends, we’re back for another African adventure. I implore you to watch the youtube version of this interview on the Food Lies youtube channel. I spent a very long time adding in all the photos and videos that we reference throughout this episode. It would be a shame to not see all of the visuals. You can even watch it on 2x speed if you click on the settings icon on the video. I even put in a recording of the song the Hadza sing to us (the full recording closes out the episode). Some of it is a bit graphic, I’ll warn you! We got to spend time with 2 different Hadza groups which was very key in understanding more about their health and habits. Seeing 8 tribes or communities in total across Tanzania and Uganda was also paramount to our observations. Getting as many data points as we could really helped give us a well-rounded look at these cultures. Even this was just scratching the surface, however. We just got this one window into their lives and it would be ideal to come back at different times of

Part 116 - The Maasai of Tanzania - What We Learned From Our Time with Them (w/ Mary Ruddick, CNC)
10/03/2021 Duración: 01h12minWelcome back from the break everyone and welcome to season 9 of the Peak Human podcast! I’m Brian Sanders and I’m back from Africa with some stories! What an epic journey! I went there with Mary Ruddick, her boyfriend Drako who helped film, and director/filmographer Jay to spend some time with native living tribes to learn from them and get footage for the Food Lies film. For new listeners Food Lies is a feature-length documentary I’ve been working on for years. I’ve interviewed many of the top doctors, nutrition, and agriculture experts around the world and am now in the final stages of post-production. You can find the (very outdated) trailer and some great highlight clips on the Food Lies youtube channel. You can also find out about all that we’re doing at http://Sapien.org and link to the film page from there. This is a special episode today with the nutrition genius Mary Ruddick who graciously planned this whole trip. I’d definitely recommend watching the video version of this podcast on the Food Lies y

Part 115 - Dr. Cate Shanahan & Tucker Goodrich on the True Cause of Disease and How We Know This
05/02/2021 Duración: 01h52minToday is a special show that I really enjoyed with 2 guests - Dr. Cate Shanahan and Tucker Goodrich. I had Tucker on years ago for episode 20 and he laid out the entire case against seed oils which was very compelling. Dr. Cate has been on twice already (more recently) and is a wealth of knowledge on many, many things, especially the dangers of seed oils and reinforcing the Sapien diet concepts. We cover how people get fat & sick all the way down to the mitochondrial level. We discuss the different players in this process including seed oils (or more specifically excess amounts of omega-6), refined grains, and sugar. We also do my favorite thing and look at all sides of the arguments. We use an article a seed oil supporter wrote as a tool to check in on the studies and claims cited. You won’t want to miss this one! It’s a long one, but we cover a lot, and there’s a bunch of great new info. This podcast is made possible by my company Nose to Tail where we offer nutrient dense, whole foods delivered to you

Part 114 - Kyle Mamounis, PhD on Extreme Diet Experiments, the Cause of Metabolic Disease & Insulin Resistance, and the Problem with Nutrition Science
28/01/2021 Duración: 01h31minWe jump in the weeds pretty quick but it gets better as it goes on. This is an interesting one with a scientist who’s studying mice and looking at how different fats affect disease. Kyle was on a mission to find “the perfect diet.” He was raw vegan and moved to raw meat and organs. He thinks a big problem is the high PUFAs in our diet and unnatural iron from fortified grains. He also has some ideas for people who have been on very low carb or carnivore diets and have problems like being cold, waking up in the night, women losing their period, or thyroid problems. Please listen to this one with an open mind! Kyle J. Mamounis, has a doctoral degree in nutritional science from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey USA. He is currently a researcher at University of Central Florida in Orlando. His primary research interest is investigating the effects of fatty acids on energy balance regulation. He maintains a science blog with posts on his research interests, reviews of science magazine articles and gen

Part 113 - Ben Pakulski on How to Overcome Your Genetics (and Past), the Most Efficient Way to Build Muscle, and How to Eat
20/01/2021 Duración: 01h19minWelcome back everyone! I’m Brian Sanders and this is Peak Human - the podcast where you start back at episode 1! I met Ben at our Toronto MeatUp in 2019 and really like him - maybe it’s because he eats pretty similar to how I do - 2 Sapien meals per day of mostly animal foods and low anti-nutrient plant foods on the side. Seriously though he’s really great and has an awesome mindset on pretty much everything. Goes way beyond building muscle - which is important for absolutely everyone listening. It’s not about being a bodybuilder and we don’t talk much about that - it’s about effectively doing some kind of workout to carry some lean muscle mass which everyone needs and will benefit them as they age. His info is legit - I already have been getting a better workout since we recorded this episode last week. I took some of his advice and went slower, stayed under control and focused on the muscles I was trying to work and was sore the next for the first time. Gyms are still closed in LA so all I have is my livin

Part 112 - Judy Cho, NTP on Healing the Gut with Animal Based Diets
13/01/2021 Duración: 01h26minWelcome back to show everyone, I hope everyone is doing well, and I hope everyone is starting back at episode 1 to make sure to catch all the great info. This is supposed to be an audio series on health & nutrition as well as lifestyle and it unfolds live over the past 112 episodes. I don’t have sponsors so I don’t have any other motivations to do this podcast other than to provide valuable information that I believe in. Each guest is purposefully picked and researched and adds another piece to the endless puzzle of human health. Today I’m talking with my friend Judy Cho who I’ve been following for a long time on Instagram and has done a great job of providing people with easy to understand animal-based health information. She is a nutritional therapy practitioner and the author of Carnivore Cure. Judy holds a Psychology and Communications degree from the University of California, Berkeley. Judy has a holistic health private practice and works with clients by focusing on the root cause for an array of

She received her doctorate in osteopathic medicine from the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine and is board-certified in family medicine. She earned her undergraduate degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where she studied vitamin and mineral metabolism, chronic disease prevention and management and the physiological effects of diet composition.
