For Sunday, 27 August 2023, Fifteenth Sunday after PentecostToday we are joined by a very special guest speaker, the musician, composer, and activist Ruth Fazal.  Ruth works to build connections of friendship and worship between Christians and Jews in Jerusalem.  In this sermon Ruth describes the spiritual journey she went on when she took on the task of creating an oratorio based on “I Never Saw Another Butterfly” a book of poems and artwork of Jewish children from the time of the holocaust.  Ruth is an accomplished violinist, as you will hear when she takes a moment of musical meditation near the beginning of her sermon.  https:/ruthfazal.com

Proclamation! For the Third Sunday of Easter: Sunday, 23 April 2023  Reverend Shelley McVea explores the happenings on the road to Emmaus.  A man joins two others walking on the road, and he asks what they are talking about.  They are surprised to encounter someone who hasn’t heard about the events in Jerusalem.  They tell this stranger how they believed that Jesus was their messiah, but now,. he’s been crucified.  The two don’t recognize Jesus even as he walks along with them. Proclamation! For the Fifth Sunday of Lent: Sunday, 26 March 2023  The Rev. Dr. Arthur Boers reminds us that it is Easter soon by not yet:  we are still in Lent and have to go “through a graveyard” to get to the resurrection.
