We’ve got a double-bill of trilogy-cappers on the show this week. John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum sees the return of our favourite retired assassin for two hours of finely choreographed violence. It’s a comedy double-bill this week. First up is the latest cinematic offering from Seth Rogen, Long Shot, which co-stars Charlize Theron. The film is a departure from the usual Rogen antics, but is that enough to recommend this particular rom-com? After the excellent Get Out, Jordan Peele returns to cinemas with Us, another horror film with creepy imagery and big issues on its mind. Lupita Nyong’o and her family face off against their doppelgangers, but will this film leave Nick and Marcus in two minds? Creed II is our at-home review, with everyone from the first film returning, along with Dolph Lundgren as Ivan Drago. The first Creed was the perfect example of how to reinvigorate an old series, but does this sequel run the risk of following the previous Rocky sequels into mediocrity? The first big Marvel movie of 2019 is here, with their first female lead. In our review of Captain Marvel, Nick promises to keep his fanboy tendencies in check and give a proper examination of the film’s pros and cons. Out to rent and buy is the mountain climbing documentary Free Solo. You’d think based on the clip we have that this’d be a comparatively relaxing watch, but it’s a nail-biting experience which sees climber Alex Honnold attempting to scale the face of El Capitan with NO ROPES.
