E. 94a Comin' to America with Rugby ATL
20/02/2021 Duración: 01h02minTonight, we chat with some fantastic guys from Rugby ATL, Marno Redelinghuys and Johan Momsen, and hear about how they're basically living one of Bob's dreams. It's always inspiring to hang out with people who are super determined, hard working and like telling hunting stories of how it was when they were growing up. That goes double when their stories are from South Africa and they're hunting cool animals I've never even seen. Apologies for the first edit on this episode.

Then, toward the end of the show we dig into some questions from our friends on Patreon. We dive into some of them and then answer the rest in a video on our Patreon. Check that out here.

E 92. Want to hunt with Pitboss Waterfowl?
27/01/2021 Duración: 01h19minEvenin' friends. Tonight we check back in with a great buddy of ours, Captain Jeff Coats. Jeff is one of the greatest hunting guides you could possibly find; he's been in the sea duck game for 21 years, has the world's largest duck boats, crafts his own decoys and trains his own dogs. If you want to learn about sea duck hunting or have the coolest hunt ever, then you'll make a trip to Ocean City, Maryland, and give him a call.... and you should, he has a few spots open for next season (@pitbosswaterfowl). On this episode, we talk about the hunt with Jeff we're doing in December of 2021 where we're randomly picking a patreon supporter and flying them to hunt with us and Jeff. We also hear about Jeff's duck season, how he's working to develop Pitboss HQ, his cool dog, Rye, and a lot more. Jeff is a real class act and we appreciate his friendship, enthusiasm for duck hunting and what he does for our industry.

E 91. How to Win Bird Dog Wars with Mike Vaughn
20/01/2021 Duración: 02h01minTonight, Bob and Kevin have a chat with our buddy out in Wisconsin, Mike Vaughn. Mike is an absolute beast of a hard worker and you'll feel his passion as he shares stories about his past. We dig deep into how Mike got into the bird dog game and how he has meticulously worked to become a reputable trainer and competitor within the hunting dog industry. We also learn about the bird dog wars. Honestly, I feel like we need to get into this game but i'm afraid I'd be sucked in, never to return. How do you think you'd do in the BDW?

E 90. Catching up with Southern Oak Kennels
13/01/2021 Duración: 01h12minTonight, Bob and Kevin sit down to hang out with one of our favorite buddies, Barton Ramsey, of Southern Oak Kennels. We catch up on Barton's hunting season, which is still going on... it's fine, I'm not jealous. We hear about an exciting and memorable trip he took with his son and how he is introducing his kids to the outdoors. I realize this is a topic that comes up often but Barton provides a few concrete examples of how he is doing this and man, I respect it. We also hear about some of his dogs, how their hunting seasons has been and what's happening with the puppies. All in all, we had a real good chat with Barton both on and off the podcast.

E 88. Talkin' Dogs & Music with Tyler Chambers
30/12/2020 Duración: 01h35minListen, we've had a really good time doing this podcast over the last 88 shows and this is no different. Tonight, we have the pleasure of cracking jokes with our buddy, Tyler Chambers. He's a blue collar, country singing, dog lovin' kinda guy and he fits right in with us. Tyler has been writing songs in Nashville for a few years now and generously offered to share one of his unreleased songs in the middle of tonight's episode. We bounce all over the place in tonight's show and talk about how Bob shouldn't write songs, deer hunting, using fans to hunt turkeys, we learn about his handsome dog and how he got into hunting. Overall, I think you're really going to enjoy this episode with Tyler. He's an awesome dude and certainly someone we respect. Check out his youtube and see yourself: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCGCuv59tIpQB0GV8eAK0Zfg

E 87. Trainin' Dogs with Brandon Sweesy
16/12/2020 Duración: 01h24minWe've had a lot of people ask about chatting with buddies who aren't pros with a hundred dogs in the kennel and more on the side of just a few. This made us think of our pal, Brandon Sweesy, of Northern Air Retrievers. He has a really good dog named Jones that he trained himself by watching Freddie King videos, reading and calling his breeder and you guessed it... actually training the dog in front of him. It was pretty cool to learn more about Brandon's training philosophy and how he handles his dogs in tests. We really dig into a good training discussion and we hope you enjoy it. We were pumped to find out that our new girl, Prairie, is a distant relative to Brandon's younger dog. It's funny how small this world can be, right? Check out Brandon and his dogs on his Instagram @northern_air_retrievers for some great photos and even better training tips.

E 86. Training Advice with Brad Arrington from Mossy Pond
10/12/2020 Duración: 01h09minTonight, we chat with one of the greatest dog trainers around, Brad Arrington, from Mossy Pond Retrievers. Bob and Brad met a long time ago and basically, they catch up on the last few ~10 years. What's happened since then? Well, Brad has continued to grow and refine his skills as a trainer, grown an impressive business while maintaining a high level of integrity. Brad helps share some advice for one of Bob's dogs that keeps veering off on specific marks and it provides a really in depth conversation. We also talk about an event he's putting on in the spring and you should check it out. Overall, this is a great episode and we're grateful for Brad's time and friendship. If you're down south near him and need a good trainer, he's your guy. Oh, did you want to throw your hat into the ring for Bob buying you a hunting trip with us? Anyone signed up on our patreon is entered and right now, your odds are pretty darn good. Cheers, friends.

E 85. Let Blaine Help Train Your Dog
02/12/2020 Duración: 01h26minWelcome back. We always enjoy chatting with our good buddy, Blaine, so we asked if we could join "his" podcast again. In this episode, we dig into some of his hunt test season and what he's learned from it, how he likes hunting woodies in little honey holes and how he wants to help coach your dog with his new venture, The Brown Dog Academy. If you've heard our show, then you've probably picked up a trick or two from Blaine and it could be worth looking into. While chatting, Blaine also teaches Bob and I why we're so bad at deer hunting. Did you hear the episode where we announced that we're taking a patreon follower on a PAID hunt next year? Well if you haven't, check this out and toss your hat into the ring: patreon.com/loneduckoutfitters. Cheers to you!

E 84. Dave Comes to Town
18/11/2020 Duración: 01h25minThis is a slightly different show than our usual training how to's and it's great. You know that buddy you don't see as often as you'd like but when you do, you end up staying up late trading stories, stacking empties and it's like you never skipped a beat with your old hunting buddy? Well, meet Dave. We hear about Dave's first impression of Bob, we hear HIS version of that one lone duck that cupped into the decoys and much more. Enjoy the show. Do you want to go hunting? We're going to do an all expenses paid hunting trip for a patreon buddy of ours for next season. Check it out here: patreon.com/loneduckoutfitters

E 83. Want to go hunting?
11/11/2020 Duración: 35minWelcome back for another goodie. Tonight, Bob and Kevin kick back to run through some hunting updates for our season. Bob went out hunting with our ol' gal Safe (remember her?) and had a good time. We also jump into some deer updates on Bob's new property and learn about deer hunting in the snow. We alsoooooo have a pretty cool announcement as we're still navigating this whole patreon deal so definitely look into that. Long story short, let's go hunting.

E 82. Boykin Nationals with Blaine
04/11/2020 Duración: 48minWelcome welcome. Tonight was pretty great as we were able to enjoy a little time with Papa Blaine and hear about the Boykin National Field Trials. Blaine talks through the tests, what it looked like, what the dogs had to do, the judging and even caps it off with some advice for proper weiner retrieval. As always, it's fantastic to have our good buddy, Blaine, on the show because he's so incredibly knowledgeable and easygoing. Cheers to you, Blaine.... Bob owes you one. E 81. Saying Yes with Molly Boland
28/10/2020 Duración: 01h23minNothing like a little chaos to create an impromptu week of training and fun, am I right? Well, that's what happened and we ended up being home for the Free Spirit Gun Dogs crew and we are grateful to have them. We sat down to have a handful of laughs with Molly Boland, an extremely talented dog trainer, hunting guide and overall badass. We kick off the show chatting with Molly about her early years and hear some cool hunting stories from moose to caribou to spearfishing, hand lining & hunting sea ducks in Alaska. We then jump into some good training advice and even hear questions from our close friends on Patreon. We then jump onto Instagram Live to laugh and chat with people about their dogs and offer advice to help them achieve their training goals. Tonight's show was pretty special and I think if you listen, you'll feel that. We truly had a good time chatting with Molly and learning from her. She's an absolute inspiration and like I said, we're grateful to be friends with her & Beth.

E 80. Elite Dog Training & the Return of Lyle Steinman
22/10/2020 Duración: 01h34minWe can just start by saying that tonight's show was pretty awesome. We had the opportunity to sit down and chat with our buddy, Lyle Steinman, before the SRS Championship. We begin our show hearing about Lyle's summer and the tough losses he's endured. Man, I've been there and it's devastating. We then pick up the positivity and learn about how Lyle's been training his dogs and pushing himself to the max in preparation for the SRS. We also hear some detailed training advice from Lyle in regards to swim by, decheating and a lot more. I'm pumped because we were able to connect our Patreon friends with Lyle and they asked some good training questions for him. If you'd like to join and receive cool perks like that, then hit up this link here. Good luck to Lyle and all of our friends at the SRS this year. Cheers.

E 79. Fueling Athletes with Russ Kelley (2)
15/10/2020 Duración: 01h17minOh hey there. Let's jump into another goodie (for the second time because I screwed up the file for the first interview) with Russ Kelley from Eukanuba. Russ has been a dog guy for years and has owned all sorts of hunting dogs. He's also been a driving force for dog nutrition for his whole career and we're lucky to chat with him and answer a few questions about how to best fuel our dogs. This is a super interesting show because of how knowledgable Russ is and because Eukanuba recently launched their new food and Russ tells us all about the what and the why behind it. Thanks to Russ and the Eukanuba team for supporting our show and for constantly pushing themselves to be better for our dogs. They have a simple mission and it's certainly something we can get behind. Check out their site to learn more.

We also flip on the ol' Instagram Live and chat with friends, hear about a new puppy, how the hunting season has been so far (mehh could be better), and a lot more. Tonight's episode was pretty awesome and I hope you enjoy yourself. It's always great to chat with people live and get to know them and their dogs a little. E 77. Weekend at Bob's
30/09/2020 Duración: 55minThis week, Bob and Kevin sit down over a beer to reminisce about the fantastic weekend we had. We were fortunate to have a bunch of great people and their talented dogs come hang out, train, eat, drink and be merry with us. We put together a little weekend workshop for amateur trainers and we talk about what everyone learned, force fetch, t pattern, wagon wheel, walking fetch, blinds, force to a pile, holy cow the list goes on. We also had a pretty solid party after the long day, gave away some cool prices and enjoyed ourselves around the bonfire just trading hunting stories. We received such great feedback about our workshop that we'll certainly be doing more in the future. Then we jump on Instagram Live to chat with friends and answer a little Q&A and things get good. I'd highly encourage you to hop on the ol' IG next time we do a live show because it's super handy to see visuals during explanations. We've pretty grateful for our Lone Duck community and for those who came to the workshop. Cheers to you al

E 76. The Doctor is in
23/09/2020 Duración: 01h04minTonight we share a lot of laughs with our old pal, Ethan Pippitt, from Standing Stone Kennels and our buddy Dr. Peter Armstrong, DVM. Peter and Ethan flew into town for a quick trip to talk about dogs and learn more about the Lone Duck Dog program. We had a full day of running dogs and then settled into a good podcast to hear about Peter's interesting experiences as a vet, driving cattle, his hunting trips and his super cool dogs. I happen to consider myself a dog guy, but Peter just puts me to shame. I learned quite a bit in this episode and also laughed pretty hard. Oh, did I mention we have NEW stuff on our website? Check it out and support us!

E 75. Birds & Dogs with Carson Wentz
17/09/2020 Duración: 34minThis week we recorded our 75th episode of Lone Duck's Gun Dog Chronicles and we're real excited for it. We had the opportunity to speak with Carson Wentz from Eukanuba's Wentz Bros Outdoors and boy did we have a good time. He is one of the most down to earth, genuine guys around. With such a busy schedule, he makes it a priority to spend time outside, unwinding and enjoying a good hunt beside his dog. We learn a little about how Carson got into hunting, training his own dogs and he even provides that I think can apply to a lot of people. We also chat a little about his foundation and other passions in his life. Big shout out to Eukanuba and Carson for coming to hang for a bit. There's some new sporting dog food and a new season of WBO that you should check out... you won't be disappointed.
