Spielberg's Ready Player One portrays a dark future that celebrates the corporate owned intellectual property of the 80s, 90s, and today. The kids of the future will pay good money to admire their grandparent’s consumerist childhood entertainment, and Oatman & L.J. paid good money to said corporate interests for the privilege of watching those kids do just that.
