The next games are under way, and the group is brought into a more intellectually-inclined challenge. Despite the ever-changing rules of the preview editions and not remembering how powerful their abilities actually are (and a paid off judge), they persevere and come out on top.

The River Devil has been defeated, but Nav seems changed from the experience. The party decides to boat-hop into port instead of waiting and find themselves finally in the city of Axis, where they are immediately thrust into their next deadly challenge: competitive sports.

Some have the luxury of being able to return home, if only for a moment's respite. Such a journey back can motivate one, inspire, remind them of what they're fighting for. The 13th Age campaign grew while it was in the works. Ultimate Edition, a personal project of house editor Yuria, is meant to bring those early episodes up to par with the latter parts. Music is added, editing is tightened, and the experience is generally enhanced. Having successfully avenged Boltstrike Tower, the party decides to stick together just a bit longer to take a trip to Axis, City of Swords and capital of the Dragon Empire, to see the coronation of the new Dragon Emperor. In a true bolt from the blue, the team gains one member and, as they are soon to discover, an infinite amount of great ideas.
