Staff at the Applebee’s Grill & Bar location in Ithaca’s northeast were informed Wednesday that the restaurant will close in May, 14850 Dining has learned. The last date of operation for the eatery on North Triphammer Road in the Village of Lansing is May 19th. Almost 30 years after Viva Taqueria opened on a corner in Downtown Ithaca, and almost two years after the expanded eatery moved across the street, the longtime owners, Ursula and Pete Browning, have sold the restaurant to a new owner.
