Out Of Nowhere

A full week of games as Ben and Lucy discuss what they’ve been playing. Lucy starts with a review of Easy Delivery Co, a new release developed by Sam C, whilst Ben’s been playing EA’s latest attempt at a Skate game, and he also finished Mafia Definitive Edition. Lucy closes the show discussing Poco, a point-and-click adventure about a clown, developed by a bunch of college friends. Ben drinks Hop City Europe from Northern Monk, and Lucy has The Cosmic Turtle from Below Brew Co.

The whole team is back to focus on a couple of games. Ben reviews his early hours with Artis Impact, a lovely pixel art RPG, and he and Lucy delve into thoughts on Hollow Knight: Silksong. There are tangents galore with chats about YouTube and technology, among others. Aadil returns and joins Ben to discuss his favourite takeaways from Gamescom ONL. Ben then gives more thoughts on the Battlefield 6 beta, having played the game over both weekends. After the last episode’s review focus, Ben and Lucy return to discuss a bunch of different games. They begin where they left off and give a final comment on Wheelworld. Lucy then chats about Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 remaster and starting South of Midnight. Ben gives his in-depth impressions of the newly released Endzone 2 and some early impressions of the first Battlefield 6 beta weekend. Lucy and Ben have played the same game! We discuss and review Wheel World, a new open-world cycling game from Messhof and Annapurna Interactive. This week, we start by getting annoyed with technology. Aadil’s been playing some Magic: The Gathering and chats about the new Final Fantasy sets and some special Sonic cards. Lucy brings the games, coincidentally chatting about Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, and then the third game of the Spyro Reignited Trilogy. Ben’s keeping on with Death Stranding 2. A bevvy of beers for the episode, with Ben having already opened Iron Brew from Vault City before recording. Lucy stays on track with her alcohol free beers, drinking Sonoma AF from Track. Aadil also drinks a Vault City, having their The Juice collab with Brew York, and Ben opens Beak’s Whales DIPA.

Aadil and Ben get together after a few weeks off to talk about the Bristol Craft Beer Festival and a slew of games Ben has played. Ben runs through his time so far with Tron: Catalyst, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, and Operius DX. Conversation touches on Time loops, expedience and Zelda. We’re a little game light this week, with Ben bringing a new and an old game to discuss. Ben gives a review of Rise of Industry 2, and discusses why he’s playing Battlefront 2 – 2 again. We all talk about the death of E3 some more, issues with the gaming media preview cycle and then somehow daytime talk shows. Aadil kicks off the drinking with a State of Kind X Pipeline collab called Burning the Midnight Oil. Both Ben and Lucy stay local. It’s been a minute since we last recorded, so of course, the episode starts off on non-beer, non-gaming chat. Ben kicks off gaming chat with his thoughts on Revenge of the Savage Planet. Lucy’s been gaming with her nephew, or gaming for him in Animal Crossing. We end on Blue Prince, having a pretty in-depth discussion which turns to politics. Ben dominates the discussion this week with a bunch of games he’s flitted between. He starts with Cities Skylines 2, then takes a leap of faith and talks Prince of Persia The Lost Crown and the early hours of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Lucy is beer-free this week, so Aadil and Ben turn to some familiar names. Aadil drinks Vault City’s Peach & Ginger Lychee Lemongrass Coconut Session Sour, and Ben knocks back Deya’s The Walls Leaned Away. Originally recorded on 4th of April 2025. Ragnorok and Brew (Tanked Up 434) Lucy has Flwrs, the alcohol-free NEIPA collab from Beak x We can Be Friends. Aadil had the latest Faith in Futures from Northern Monk, the Tank Petrol IPA. Ben had Lost and Grounded’s Extra Nice, an extra dry lager. Ben played “Odinfall”, a rogue-lite bullet hell Norse pixelly game as well as Wanderstop on the PS5. Lucy played Nubby’s number factory, and vamped about peggle. We also talked about dopamine mills, the Golden Idol DLC, the hellscapes that are modern social media, and a whole lot else besides.

With the dawn of Nintendo Switch 2 upon us, join Lucy and I as we discuss what we hope and expect to see at the upcoming Switch 2 Direct on Wednesday 2nd April, as well as go over Nintendo news of the past couple of months and what we are currently playing. Steam Next Fests seem to come and go with the wind but this time Lucyt managed to catch a few more demos. She discusses Castle V Castle, and Shotgun Cop Man. Ben catches Lucy up and has put some time into Avowed, leading to a big discussion on the divisiveness of RPGs, and has also started Lost Records: Bloom and Rage. Lucy and Ben both had Verdant’s annual release, Putty, an 8% double IPA with Azaka, Galaxy, and Mosaic hops. Adil had Vocation’s Special Edition Doppelganger DDH IPA. They discuss the rise of quality alcohol-free beers and how the market has expanded beyond basic lagers. Lucy played the demo for Duck Detective: The Secret Salami, a lighthearted mystery game about a bread-addicted detective solving simple cases. She also checked out Rupuka’s Idle Island, a relaxing widget game about a frog trimming grass.
