While watching the cricket against Greenbury Usha tells Joy she just needs to be herself at her interview tomorrow for the kitchen job at The Bull and she’ll be fine. On the field Henry is last man out, while Brad can’t stop sneezing. As the players come in for tea Clarrie appears upset when Helen asks how her dinner lady job is going. Henry tells Helen he saw some older kids at school being rude to Clarrie when she told them to sit down, but didn’t intervene because it would have made things worse. When Henry goes Clarrie tells Helen how humiliating the incident was. She always thought she was good at supervising kids, but this generation don’t have any respect. After the match Henry tells Clarrie that the only way to deal with those kids is to be firm and not take any nonsense. Emma isn’t happy that Will is impressed by George getting himself a girlfriend while in prison. She tells Will about her encounter with Amber in the car park, then how Amber followed George on socials and started writing to him. Will’s glad George is happy, but Emma doesn’t trust Amber. Will looks Amber up online and recognises her from her job at Farm Supplies. Emma’s convinced she’s not right for George, but Will reckons that’s up to George to decide. Then Emma gets a call from George, who asks if Emma liked her. When Emma hesitates Will steps in, congratulating George. Emma sounds a note of caution about rushing into things, but George is convinced she’s the one. Emma’s on the phone to George, who tells her about the Community Offender Manager he’s meeting today, then says he’s got a surprise for her when she visits later. Outside the prison Emma has a barbed conversation with a young woman, who accuses Emma of pinching her parking space and acting like an arrogant 'Boomer'. This becomes a wider critique of Emma’s parenting and life skills, leaving Emma fuming. Ed phones Emma, who tells him about the run-in with the woman, determined it won’t spoil her visit. When Emma tells George her news he’s distracted when the woman arrives and he then introduces her as Amber to Emma. Emma assumes Amber is the Community Offender Manager, but Amber corrects her. She’s George’s girlfriend.At Home Farm Brian gives Stella the cold shoulder, dismissing her attempts to explain why she didn’t warn him about Justin’s plan to convert half the Estate land to rewilding. Jolene has called Harrison over for advice after she and Kenton endured a sleepless night, worrying about Markie and his gang. Harrison explains Kenton won’t have to identify any gang members face to face. They need to trust the system, but Jolene isn’t convinced. Later she tries to get Kenton to talk about his issues, before Harrison arrives, offering support. Jolene reckons talking about it would be good for her, not just Kenton, whereupon he confesses to a phobia of dogs. He doesn’t want to let the police or anyone else down but feels he can’t cope with reliving the experience. Pip turns up at Home Farm, worried how Stella is coping with Brian’s antipathy following Friday’s Board meeting, but Stella brushes it off as an occupational hazard. Later at The Bull, Pip tells Kenton how upset she is by Stella shutting her out instead of sharing her true feelings. Kenton reckons Pip has to be honest with Stella, tell her what she thinks and not let it fester. Then after supper at Rickyard, Stella confesses how the tension between her and Brian is unbearable. When Stella hears how upset Pip is that she didn’t confide in her before, they reaffirm their love for one another. Stella reckons the whole rewilding debacle is her fault. It’s a sad day in Ambridge at Peggy’s funeral. Tony admires the roses in the church and reminisces with Helen about his mum. Tearful Kate doesn’t know how she’ll get through the day. As Henry steps away to take his position as a coffin bearer, Lilian assures them they’ll all get through today together. After Alan’s opening address and a reading from Lilian, Tony talks about Peggy’s qualities; he didn’t always have an easy relationship with his mum, but she was the strongest woman he’s ever known.At the wake in the Bull, Alan is thanked for stepping in to officiate so ably at such short notice. Tom observes the Bull’s come a long way since Peggy was landlady. Alan thinks it’s nice that Lilian’s keeping the family connection going. Lilian supposes it’s in her blood. Lilian’s finding arrangements for Peggy’s funeral a good distraction. She notes even though her mum’s no longer with them, her influence can still be felt. Kate and Phoebe update her on the incident with vicar Crispin yesterday, explaining he’s no longer available to officiate. They realise the logical option is to approach Alan. Kate volunteers to call him, and he suggests they chat face to face. Phoebe offers to accompany Kate. Lilian and Tom work on finalising the refreshments for the wake, which feature some of Peggy’s favourite foods. Justin wonders if there’s anything he can do to help, and Lilian gives him the news that he’s been detailed to look after Hilda the cat at the funeral. Justin feels it’s a poison chalice but that he has very little option. Later Lilian admits to Tom that Justin wasn’t specifically nominated by Peggy, but it will keep him out of mischief. Stella has a meeting with Justin. He’s decided to meet her on Lakey Hill – he wants an overview of Home Farm, both metaphorical and physical. Stella reports on her findings regarding the positives and negatives of the ecology. There are more debits than credits, but Stella observes they were expecting that. It’s a mixed picture, and Justin intends to act on it. He'd like to take BL's land out of food production and rewild the Berrow estate. Stella’s shocked – surely the Board won’t support a halt on producing food? Justin’s pretty confident they will with his persuasion. He’s happy to take the flak. Stella expresses concern for Home Farm but Justin assures her the legal obligations will be fulfilled. This will be his legacy. He wants to leave Ambridge in a better state than when he arrived. Crispin arrives fresh from a six mile run. Kate’s surprised at his level of fitness and Jakob notes Crispin’s known for his performative athleticism. Crispin surprises Alan by arriving unannounced to discuss Peggy’s funeral arrangements. He suggests brightly that Alan should box with him sometime, before pointing out the advantage of him not conducting the funeral is that he’ll be able to immerse himself in the service as a fellow mourner. With the appearance of Kate and Jakob to discuss things further Alan takes his leave – but not before Crispin makes a good natured aside about his motorbike. Crispin familiarises himself with Peggy’s family members before explaining some of the finer points of the service. Kate notices he has a shoulder twinge and offers him a massage to help ease it. Jakob’s dubious but Crispin’s tempted. Later Kate defends her gran’s choice of vicar to Alan. Alan’s pleased she feels she can work with Crispin. Kate assures him she can. She wonders whether Alan would mind standing at the back for the service, or even outside to marshall mourners if it’s very busy.
