One Hot Mess

This was a lost episode that took a while to get published. Some of the references are a little dated, but we had a lot of fun recording.  We talk about the demise of Glen's radio show, and Jason being too nice.  Take a listen and enjoy!

Jon Houser and Thad Challis talk about their opinions of comedy.

Matt Tennant joins us to talk about his experience from playing high school football, to college football, and eventually playing in the NFL, under New England Coach Bill Belichick and the first time he saw Tom Brady's wife, Gisele.  

Adam Minnick and Aaron Taylor stop by the M-Den Studios and help me discover the sound effects on my new mixing board!  We also talk about other dumb stuff.

Thad Challis has a very interesting past.  His father, Chili Challis, was a writier for the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, while Thad's passion for metal took him to California. Following in his father's comedy footsteps, Thad has been developing his own stand-up stylings, and they have been traveling as a very funny Father/Son duo.  

People on the Show:  Kim Sherwood, Chris Siemer, and Tom Wiehe Today we have Tom Wiehe, one of the co-podcasters of The Tommy and Waks Show (www.WaksAndTom.com).  Tom has been involved in helping other Cincinnati comics with their podcast, and he has his own show on WAIF in Cincinnati.  Tom is a very big enthusiast of radio, and has provided me some sound engineering advice.  We talk about how community radio is different, how awesome podcast marketing is, and I think we coined the phrase, “The Sportsman Boude.” Tom has a bunch of previous shows on his site...Go and take a listen!

I had a chance to sit down with Adam Minnick, a Cincinnati comedian who is starting to travel quite a bit around the midwest.  I wanted to see how he was getting so much work, and find out about his latest projects.  He is a guy that never seems to sit still, and brought up a wonderful story about his granparents during World War II.  If you enjoyed this episode, come back in a couple of weeks, as Adam, Homer Shadowheart, and myself travel to Cedar Rapids, IA for the World Series of Comedy.  It is an 8 hour trip one-way, and we will be there for 4 days, so you know there is going to be some great stories to come from that trip.  Enjoy!  We have a very special guest.  He is the first guest we have had on the show, and his story is awesome.  Jay Armstrong discusses his pathway from childhood, to drugs, to jail, and eventually to comedy.  A great story from a great guy.  Although, you would never know he has a huge heart by looking at him

In this episode, I get rid of all of my cables, mixing boards, computers, and mics and use a hand-held digital recorder.  Marc and I saved about 45 minutes in set up and level checking and we just jumped right into the show.  We talk about Valentines Day, woman (of course)  and Kim's recent trip to Windsor Canada....ENJOY!
