Michael Angus Graybush is a self-proclaimed soul carver. Often using nothing but a carving knife he creates humorous faces and other character figures. A carpenter by trade until a medical emergency placed him in a position that required a new view on life as well as a bit of a career change.

Today we will spend some time with Roper from Roper Woodturning. A master wood turner and teacher, Roper passes on his experience and skill to new students. Now Expanding into YouTube he has started making video tutorials of excellent quality of craft and design to share with everyone

Jeff Taylor is a multi-book author, he has written for some of the top woodworking magazines. I am talking with him about woodworking, tools and a mind set for life we both share. We are talking online but someday I would love to visit his shop and talk for hours.

Today I am going to introduce you to Mark Downing of Atelier. With over 40 years of experience he has been a creator in so many disciplines, woodworking, metal working, design, general contracting to name just a few. We will discuss what it’s like to be a maker and how it affected his journey through life.

This time on it’s wood I am speaking with Brody Cousineau of Cousineau wood products over the internet. His company creates beautiful color laminated wood that I have been using for many years. The striking array of color combinations available make some great looking projects.

I must admit I have never found wood flooring very fascinating, little did I know the amount of design, thought and passion that can go into it. Today I am here with John Dupra of Revel woods and he is going to take us into the realm of wood floors. I hope you find this as interesting as I do now

I have the great pleasure of sitting down today with Tracy Partridge-Johnson from Portland Pyrography. Pyrography is the technical term for wood burning, although it is so much more. Tracy takes this art to the level of a masterful artist.  

For the longest time I have wanted to sit down with a logger and learn about where our wood comes from. I want to introduce you to Irwin Wright of High west Wood Products. Irwin has over 35 years of experience in both logging and wood processing.

On a journey to eastern Oregon I met Will Nash of Nash Wood in beautiful Bend Oregon. Will creates custom woodworking including carvings, instruments, cabinetry plus so much more. His array of skills is immense. His story fascinated me, I hope you enjoy this episode.

On this episode I have the unique privilege of interviewing a third-generation woodworker. Not how you might think but a third-generation student.  In my first season I interviewed Gary Rogowski of the northwest woodworking studio, then I interviewed a student of Gary’s, Alexander Anderson who now runs Madrone Studio. Today I am interviewing Joshua Talbert a student at Madrone studio we will talk design, inspiration and what it is like working under a master woodworker.  

I am going to introduce you to Kris Kirkman of Kirkman originals. Although by some standards he is a new woodworker with only a few years under his belt but he is creating furniture comparable with woodworkers with decades of experience. I hope you enjoy his story.

On the Last episode we spoke with Jonathan Cohen who started the Ebanista School of fine woodworking now we are going to speak with two of his students. Natzem Lima and Zac Bell have entered classes here at the school only a few weeks ago and I spoke with them about their experiences here and what brought them to the Ebanista school of fine woodworking.

Today’s show is going to be a bit different. I am here in the shop of an internet personality and supreme maker who goes by the name Banzai Baby. She is a unique person who I discovered while browsing twitch for woodworkers who stream live from their shop while they work. For those of you who don’t know about twitch, it is a live streaming site you can access through your browser or an app for your phone. My interview with Banzai is being streamed live to her audience while we talk. We will be taking questions from the audience as well as responding to their activity.
