    What’s a Thaumatrope? What did Michael Faraday do in his spare time from advancing the scientific field? Walt Disney learned about all this and more, so tune in to find out too!   Persistence of Vision Positive After-images- When an image quickly moves out of field of vision, but an afterimage briefly remains behind Negative After-images- When you look at a bright pattern, then look at a white/blank background and continue to briefly see that pattern of a “complementary color to the original.” Thaumatrope (1824) Invented by John Ayton Paris, British physician, in 1824 and talked about this invention in a book he published in 1827. The invention was a cardboard circle with 2 holes on opposite sides and an image drawn on either side of the disc. Strings are threaded through the two holes on left and right ends. You twirl the string with your fingers, then when you let go, it spins rapidly and makes a single image between the two sides (positive after-images) Faraday’s Wheel (1824/1830) First describe

We also talk about why Walt Disney specifically filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in Kansas City. And finally, we get de-monorailed to talk about the upcoming live-action Lion King film and the excellence of the Hunchback of Notre Dame's soundtrack.    Chapter 7 bankruptcy- Debtors take ownership of and liquidate (sell) all assets of the company/person.  Chapter 11 bankruptcy- The bankrupt person/company is able to keep some of their assets and renegotiates the terms of the debt with his/her debtors.   J Samuel Blankenship also has almost released his new podcast, Stories Told by Me!
