Sinopsis

We are two people who believe Peri Gilpin deserves more praise, respect and an Emmy. In this podcast, we discuss what film and TV we've watched this week and check Peri's Instagram. New episodes on Tuesdays.

Episodios

  • Kendra hears the siren song for pickles

    18/09/2025 Duración: 48min

Ken and Kendra cross the street together (but also apart) while recording this episode in person. They cover: Crossing Delancey, Bringing Up Baby, and I believe Ken quibbles. Nothing but great movies and great times spent by these cool leopards.

  • Ken and Kendra are Caught Stealing

    10/09/2025 Duración: 34min

Ken and Kendra are caught stealing…glances through a wild movie theater experience! Join them as they discuss it in detail, it being both the movie and the gum that stuck to Kendra’s pants! Spoiler warning! After the 15:30 mark spoilers begin and they talk about certain major events in the film. Still, they tend to lean heavy on vagaries, as they are wont to do. Either way, it’s a fun time about one topic! They tried to stay positive and they did, except about the movie or the theater experience. But as a hang? What a time!

  • It Happened One Night, Kens discuss Spaceballs

    04/09/2025 Duración: 47min

The Kens are back and they get all chummy. Kendra watched the 1934 classic It Happened One Night and it reminded her of Spaceballs, a childhood favorite. Ken also saw it somewhat recently and it reminded him of Bugs Bunny wearing lipstick. They also discuss Clark Gable, Bill Pullman and Young Frankenstein, and imagine the both of them wearing lipstick. Remember, Peter Boyle played Frankenstein’s monster. But he would also be cute in lipstick. Then Ken steers them through the latest slate of movie in theaters today, like Honey Don’t, Caught Stealing and Splitsville among others. Why haven’t they seen any of these? Is it because none of them have Clark Gable eating a carrot? They discuss.

  • Ken (Jane) Eyre's his grievances

    28/08/2025 Duración: 53min

The Kens are all over the place with this one. Kendra continues her streak of reading about hungry children, and she’s found a hot new video game she couldn’t wait to share with everyone. The game, Tiny Bookshop, shares her taste in non-fiction by Edith Wharton and gothic romances by one of Brontë sisters. Which Brontë sister? We will never know. Ken introduces Ken’s Quibbles, his attempt to right polite society’s wrongs. Does he sound like an asshole? Kendra politely says no. He also discusses some disappointing recent beach house movie watches, Fear Street: Prom Queen innocent of course.

  • We rank ourselves Highest 2 Lowest: Ken then Kendra (it's based on height)

    21/08/2025 Duración: 46min

They discuss Kendra’s descent into madness, aka reading The Hunger Games and thoroughly enjoying it, very normally. They then dive into Spike Lee’s latest joint, Highest 2 Lowest, starring Denzel Washington, and swim in its Brooklyn Bridge. There are some spoilers but nothing too bad. It’s a Rap Battle Royale and the winners are the listeners, and Jeffrey Wright. Is Kenbliss Evergreen anything? Ok, Enjoy!

  • Marry My Husband... Morgan Spector what are you doing here

    14/08/2025 Duración: 42min

Is this a Gilded Age wherein one may want to Marry My Husband? The Kens hope so! Plus, they discuss the movie Weapons and the other movie, Urban Legend. If it wasn’t clear, they also discus a J-drama called Marry My Husband. It’s the only way that the first line of this paragraph makes sense, not syntax wise but contextually. Yep, the ep is more of this sort of nonsense? Please do your part and listen?

  • Kendra is Gilded Age, Ken is Gilmore (Happy)

    07/08/2025 Duración: 53min

It’s a TV and comedy potpourri with Kendra and Ken rambling on and blathering about The Gilded Age, The X-Files, Too Much, Happy Gilmore, The Naked Gun & more! Much like a well-appointed scent dish, this discussion is chock full of dead flowers and suspect spices. Do they have a 'two degrees' connection this week? Yes! Carrie Coon (The Gilded Age) and Will Sharpe (Too Much) have both been on White Lotus. Do they mention on the show? No, because they’re cowards and lack mettle. But what they lack in integrity, the more than make up for in their acuity for vacuity.

  • We ask Dakota Johnson to match us with brothers

    31/07/2025 Duración: 53min

You know that we are living in a Materialists world and we are Materialists Kens. Ken and Kendra are back, and this time they actually explain what that means, at least a little bit. First, Kendra tells Ken about The Summer I Turned Pretty, which is weird, because that was before she’d ever even met me. Ken takes her word for it. Then they discuss Celine Song’s new genre-bending, or - avoiding, minor hit Materialists, starring Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans, & Pedro Pascal. The drama is heightened, literally.

  • Kendra is Superbaby & Ken is Sorry, Man

    24/07/2025 Duración: 01h02min

Eva is Victorious in Sorry, Baby and Clark is Serving Kent in Superman. Kendra and Ken return to the podcast under a slightly different name, playing a similar type of game! As before, they’ll be jawing at each other inanely about subjects so varied and different as two recent widely released movies. This week they talk Sorry, Baby (spoilers start at 5:45, end at 28:30) and Superman (spoilers start 31:00, end at 48:30), two movies about which they had a lot to say. Take an ear gander and remember, they do this because they love you. It’s so good to be back!

    09/04/2020 Duración: 30min

What a week. Ken and Kendra talk Twin Peaks: The Return, True Blood, and Men In Black. Is it too much scifi? No such thing. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/kendraken/support

  • Kendra & Ken’s all-time top 5: Peri, Peri, Peri, Peri & Joan Cusack

    31/03/2020 Duración: 33min

Our alternate title: Kendra and Ken ask Jake Lacy to warm their butters In this episode, we discuss High Fidelity, the new Hulu show, that Kendra watched despite being afraid of commitment while being so committed to staying in her apartment.  It stars Zoë Kravitz and she is utterly cool in this and probably real life. Listen to the ep and get our thoughts on the whole thing.  --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/kendraken/support

  • We turn 100! (Kendra is 28, Ken is 72)

    20/03/2020 Duración: 30min

Kendra and Ken celebrate their 100th show and 2-Year Anniversary of Two Degrees of Peri Gilpin. They do so in full rambling incoherent glory. They thank their fans, they thank each other, and they thank Peri, for not suing their collective butt.  Listen and have fun! Love each other. STAY INSIDE.  ❤️ Until next week ❤️ --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/kendraken/support

  • Kendra talks about a show with monsters, Ken talks about Tom Cruise

  • Ken and Kendra put on their bonnets and talk Emma

    11/03/2020 Duración: 32min

In this episode, Ken and Kendra casually talk about coronavirus for the first 5 minutes and then stop talking about it completely and instead shift to Emma! It's a movie directed by Autumn de Wilde and is very fun and good. We talk about Johnny Flynn, Anya Taylor Joy, and our true enjoyment of cinema! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/kendraken/support

  • Ken and Kendra break up with the Joker and now THEY run this town.

    03/03/2020 Duración: 29min

Kendra and Ken saw Birds of Prey, etc, etc and they really liked it! With some quibbles. But Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Journee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as The Huntress and Rosie Perez make it all so much fun! Ewan McGregor and Chris Messina play the bad guys and they’re mostly fun to watch too. The plot was a lot, the editing was a bit much, but the movie was kind of just right. We recommend. Ken also recommends First Cow, Kelly Reichardt’s latest slow-burning masterpiece about friendship on the American frontier in the early 19th century. Kendra responds, “ooo look at me, I’m Ken, I watch indie movies, ooo, I’m a precious little boy!” Aw, they love each other. See you all next week! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/kendraken/support

  • Locke and Key is set in a fictional Massachusetts town, Kendra relates

    26/02/2020 Duración: 36min

Kendra is here to talk about her favorite things: Peri Gilpin, The 100 and now, Locke and Key. Ken is all ears, and no key teeth. He also recommends Kendra’s latest bonus ep of Someone Lived Here, wherein she visited and discussed Orchard House, a childhood home of Louisa May Alcott. He does not recommend Alien 3, which he rewatched recently after about 25 years. He’s been telling people that it’s not half bad. Which is true, because it’s all bad. He also suggests not trying to scare yourself by looking into a mirror in a dark bathroom. Yes, he’s weird. Anyway, enjoy the show! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/kendraken/support

  • If Timothee Chalamet is The King that makes Kendra a commoner per usual

    19/02/2020 Duración: 23min

Ken will send me a text at some point that will go in here.  --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/kendraken/support

  • We get an Oscar by changing Ken's name to Oscar

    11/02/2020 Duración: 28min

Kendra and Ken talks Oscars! They’re happy about Parasite, sad about Great Gerwig’s loss, and truly still befuddled about the reason behind Eminem’s performance. They approve of Pitt and Dern, but wonder what Renee Zellweger’s speech was about. They know what Joaquin Phoenix speech was about: milk! They also take the time to declare their sickness, as well as their full support for Kendra’s other podcast. It’s called Someone Lived Here and there’s a bonus ep out now about the Louisa May Alcott house. Ken is in no way jealous about this other podcast and has no problems with Kendra’s two-timing, backstabbing nature. Finally, in light of awards season being over, they wanted to remind everyone about the original impetus of the podcast: the utter shock that Peri Gilpin never won an Emmy for Frasier. These award shows need to get their act together! See you next week! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/kendraken/support
