(James 1:27, 2:14-17, 4:13-17) One of the results of God's work in our lives is that we begin to look at people through a different set of eyes. Specifically, it changes the way we see people in need. Seeing through the eyes of Jesus means looking at people with compassion. If our faith doesn't result in acts of compassion then it hasn't fully formed in us. Every time we feel compelled to act but do nothing we become less likely to ever take action. 

(James 3:13-18) James gives very practical direction for personal relationships. More often than not, the change needs to happen in us.

(James 2:14-26) This week Pastor Brian Logue tackles an often challenging spiritual concept; Faith versus Works. "The Productivity App" is grounded in the book of James and is the second message in the current series "There's An App For That."

(James 1:16-25) Daily we face choices and challenges that can shape our character. How can we make the most of those opportunities?

(The Book of Acts) For 2,000 years the church has been a movement of God's people in this world. So how do WE keep this movement going?

(Acts 15:5-20) How can we "not make it hard" for those turning to God? Christ told his apostles to take the Gospel message to every nation (Matt 28:19-20), but he did not mean only to the Jews in those nations. He meant that the Gospel was for everyone. But did he mean that Gentile believers were to become Jewish? This was a very serious question for the apostles because Jesus was the Messiah that God had promised to the Jews, and the early church was comprised mostly of Jews. This message looks at the key issues highlighted in this passage that deal with how the early church dealt with Gentiles who were becoming Christians in a church culture born initially out of the Jewish faith. It still applies today.

(Acts 11:19-26) We should never be surprised at who God loves and wants to bring into His Church, or play God and decide not to talk to anyone because they are "outsiders". Instead, We need to pray for boldness and wisdom to welcome and encourage others in growing their faith in God.

(Acts 4:32-5:-11, 1Cor 10:1-13) In the early chapters of the book of Acts, we see the Church as a wholesome community of people following Jesus' instructions to love one another. Everything is going great... and then comes Chapter 5. What is up with this scary story of Ananias and Sapphira? Why doesn't this one get much air time in church?

(Acts 3&4) When the early church faced threats for preaching about Jesus they didn't pray for protection or safety. They prayed for boldness.

(Acts 2:42-47) The early church was far from perfect,  but their actions were tangible expressions of lives transformed by God's love.

(Acts 1 & 2) The purpose of the church can be summed up in one word... Action. The book of Acts provides a history of the founding and growth of the early church. Acts is not just history, though. It also provides insight into personal experiences of conversion, redemption and growth in a Christ-following lifestyle. it is a call to action for the modern church.

(Romans 8:18-38) During a special remembrance service on the anniversary of the events of September 11th, 2001, Pastor Ken Jensen brings a message of hope as he answers a crucial question: "How do you sustain Hope in a world that seems to be so hopelessly broken?"

(2 Timothy 1:1-14, 2:11-13, 2:20-22; Acts 1:8) 2 Timothy is the final known letter from the Apostle Paul at the end of his ministry. Paul never let his flame die down, and as a result most of the New Testiment was written by him under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. In this letter to Timothy, his young protege, we learn that if we let our lives reflect God's handiwork and reveal His divine power working through us then others will want to experience that same power in their lives too.

(Daniel 3)  Daniel 3 describes how Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego refused to bow down to King Bebuchadnezzars golden image since that would have compromised their faith in the one true God. They were sentenced to die for their disobedience. But in the extremely stressful situation, things did not turn out the way the King expected them to.  When we face stressful situations in our daily life, we need to remember that others are watching us to see how we manage the stress. Do we act like everyone else might? Or do we have something more to draw on? God may not chose to remove stress from our lives, but He will always be there with us as we go through it. 

(Jonah 2:9-10) Do you think God would place stressful situations in your life? Or do you think that a God of love, in his Grace, just wants us to have joy and peace... that stress comes from somewhere else? This weeks message touches on these and other questions that we may wrestle with when stress enters our life.

(Matthew 6:25-34) In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus provided valuable insight about the cause, futility and remedy for stress (or worry). He was teaching his new followers true and practical ways to righteous life, often contrasting them with worldly or religious norms. In this passage he addressed stress as it relates to material things. 

(Mark 4:35-41)  Stress often shows itself when we lose control during certain situations. It can also be seen as the difference between what we think should happen and reality. Mark tells us about Jesus' demonstration of divine power over nature by calming a storm on the Sea of Galilee. His disciples were in high stress and needed some calming of their own.
