Sometimes we forget that our nation was founded based on a belief that God has given all humanity unalienable rights and those rights are worth fighting for and worth uniting for...every single day.

Whilst the book of 1st Samuel ended with a tragic loss and no hope for the people of God the book of 2nd Sameul starts with an age old lesson: love your enemy.

As we close out the book of 1st Samuel we see one of the most God honoring friendships in all of Scripture set against the backdrop of one of the worst father figures in all of Scripture.

You can say a lot about King David's character, his choices, and his mistakes. But no one could question His faith, which led to him being the most popular King of Israel in all of history...and a friend of God.

The most important thing that God expects from those in the kIngdom is that they live like they are a part of His Kingdom.

All it takes to turn the hearts and minds of those who have rejected God towards God is for the Church to BE the Church.

With the rejection of God comes the rejection of His love, grace, mercy, and peace. Every person has to chase, based on that information, whom they will serve.

In this Mother's Day message we continue our series in 1st and 2nd Samuel and see how God responds to every mother's dream.

In this new series looking at 1st and 2nd Samuel, we start by looking at what it means to be a part of the kingdom of God.

We live in a world where people are judged by what they wear, where they live, what they look like, and what they have done. However, the Resurrection created an environment where people aren't judged by others but invited to be recipients of God's love and welcomed into our congregations and into God's Kingdom.

If you think extending forgiveness is hard, try asking forgiveness from those who you know you have wronged, hurt, or betrayed.

Extending forgiveness to someone who has wronged you can seem almost impossible. However, we have a God who makes all things possible.

Paul's overarching emphasis to Timothy was to let the teaching from the pulpit guide the culture in the congregation. God has that same message for us today.

Despite the overwhelming cultural view of women as sex objects and lower class citizens, Paul presents God's view of women as valued and worthy of learning about God and becoming disciples who proclaim God's name.

If immorality prevails, there is decay of conscience in the land, the public press lacks moral discretion, the Church is degenratee and worldly, satan rules in our halls of legislation and our politics have become corrupt...the pulpit is responsible for it.

God gives us tools and resources we can use to pray and connect with Him. He also gives us resources to encourage us whilst we await His response to our prayers.

Just as anyone would celebrate when a missing family member returned home, God rejoices, revels, and celebrates when someone becomes a part of His family...and we should celebrate as well.

The most important thing we can do for our children and for anyone we care about is let them know that they do not have to endure their burdens alone.
