Anytime we get a chance to talk to Turd'l we take it. There is never a dull moment so we need to take full advantage when we can. Not only do we enjoy having him on the show but we like to just sit in Studio 78 eating burritos, drinking beer and rockin puffies.  We want to encourage everyone to come to St George the first weekend in December for a celebration of trail running at the Capstone races. It is already the end of September and we have seen some snow fly. It is a great time to remember to make sure you are prepared when heading to higher elevations. It can get nasty and change on a dime - stay safe and have the proper gear. This weekend is also the Bear 100 in Logan, Utah- one of our favorites. Good Luck to all those running. Our repeat champion, Luke Nelson, is back to fill us in on his 2017 activism, adventures and what he has in store for 2018. When we last spoke with Luke Nelson, in February of 2017, he was preparing for RUFA and hinted at some extraordinary adventure runs for the Summer of 2017 (Utah 13ers and Nolans). In this interview we learned that Luke and Jared Campbell set the record for the fastest traverse of Utah’s 13ers and that they had a successful attempt at Nolans but did come up a bit short on the Nolans FKT. We wrap up the interview talking about the Bear 100, running Hardrock 100 or even maybe Barkley’s Marathon (yikes!), and the new race distances for the 2018 SMUT.  Another interesting week in the world of trail and ultra running. The Denver Post put out a great story that we hope everyone will read. 2018 races are starting to open up and we dive deep into plans we are thinking for next year. Still so much up in the air between racing and adventure runs but things fill up fast these days. The Wasatch 100 has another 2 time winner- Trevor Fuchs. We sit Trevor down in Studio 78 two days after another impressive win at the 2017 Wasatch 100. He pretty much ran at the front from the start and had a nearly flawless day. We cover the past year from working with a coach for the first time, running the inaugural Gib Wallace race (shameless plug) and getting married to his beautiful wife Tempest. Hanging out with Trevor is a blast and you can just see the love he has for trail running and the local trail community when he talks. After a little down time, Trevor will get right back on it for his trip to Hawaii in January 2018 for the running of the HURT 100....Good Luck! Since all eyes were on Europe last week we figured we could start our show wrapping up the CCC and UTMB. Huge perfomances at both of those and a special shout out to Clare and Hayden for coming home with wins at CCC. We are back with Episode #95 and Sarah McCloskey. Sarah epitomizes toughness and mental strength. Just by talking to her you can get a glimpse of why she is one hell of a mountain runner. The fact we lost our first show with her and she wasn't phased at all for the next try shows how she can take anything in stride and just keep moving. One of our favorite weekends of the year has come to a close and the 13th running of the El Vaquero Loco is in the books. We cannot say enough about how amazing this race/course is and deserves an A+ all the way around. We met up with some friends and TrailManners listeners to swap stories and enjoy the flowers.   We first interviewed Gabe in February 2017 (Episode 72), at the Park City Running Company as he was about embark on a 12 hour and 18,000 feet of climbing sufferfest at the Running Up For Air race. He Did It! We have been following Jeff Hart for the past 5 months as he prepared for the Hardrcok 100 and he was kind enough to swing by Ogden to jump into Studio 78 to give us a solid recap of the race. Jacob was down from Calgary and in our neck of the woods so we talked him into Studio 78 for Episode #92.
