Morning Manna

What kind of benefit package do you have on your job? Maybe medical and dental coverage... perhaps paid time off, family leave or retirement planning. But did you ever wonder about the benefit package we have from God? Let's talk about it on today's Morning Manna.

God's blessing on our lives are abundant and encouraging for sure, but today I want you to not only be grateful for them, but to make your focus being a blessing to others today.

Listen today as I read over you Psalm 66. Be encouraged and uplifted as you worship Him.

Why do we do what we do? Jesus gives us the answer to that question in Matthew 23:11 - But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. Let serving other be your motivation and reason for all that you do today.

It's easy to get stuck in the past and focus on our failures, but God is doing a new thing. Our future is in God's hands so let's lean in to the new thing that God has for us.

The times we're living in have been the craziest and most challenging of my 71 years of life. But... GOD KNOWS... He knows! Today I want to encourage you with Psalm 64. Listen... read this Psalm another 2 or 3 times today and be encouraged, because God knows!

God has a plan for your life. What seems at time to be coincidences are not that. His plan is unfolding in your life. I love the story of Baby Moses and how in difficult times, God had a plan. Trust His plan today.

I love the hymns that Fanny Crosby wrote. She lived for 95 years and though blind from birth, wrote inspirational songs and had such a powerful ministry. Today I share a little about her and my favorite hymn she wrote... Blessed Assurance.

Little is much when God is in it. Those words were written in 1924 by Kittie Suffield in a hymn titled the same. God uses little things and He wants to use you today.

Philippians 2:3 says; Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. My challenge this year for myself and for you, is that our focus be on others. Others, yes other, let this my motto be. Lord help me to live for others that I might live like Thee.

I wish you all a Happy New Year and as we end a challenging year, I share with you Psalm 63. Let David's focus be our focus today.

Christmas gifts are a blessing for sure, but spiritual gifts are a blessing not only to you but for the Church... the Body of Christ. Spiritual gifts are a gift that goes on and on and on. Do you know what yours is and are you using it? Let's talk about it on today's Morning Manna.

I love the chorus I learned as a young man in church. Nothing is impossible when you put your trust in God; Nothing is impossible when you're trusting in His Word. Hearken to the voice of God to thee: "Is there anything too hard for Me?" Then put your trust in God alone and rest upon His Word-- For everything, O everything, Yes, everything is possible with God!

I love David's prayer to God in Psalm 57:1 - Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me! For my soul trusts in You; and in the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge, until these calamities have passed by. We've experienced a lot of calamities for sure, but God's mercy is here for you and I today.

Christmas is over. Family and friends have returned to their homes... now what? Think about Mary and Joseph... diapers need to be changed, baths are needed, but know they must flee to Egypt. Life happens and when it does we must lean in to our faith and trust God no matter what.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas. Today's episode is very simple but powerful as I read over you the Christmas story from Luke 2:1-20.

Away in a manger no crib for a bed... that's the humility into which our Savior came. As you celebrate His birth, remember humility as an example of our Savior and His love for us.

In the midst of all the Christmas hype, the deals and sales, remember the greatest gift of all... Jesus and eternal life. Share that gift today with others and make a difference in someone's life this Christmas season.

Life is unpredictable. Even with the best plans and intentions, no one can predict for sure what will come their way in life. When unexpected times come, everyone needs to be reminded that God is good, in control and trustworthy even if everything seems out of control.
