In today’s passage, Jesus teaches the people with three parables: 1) a wedding celebration; 2) patching an old garment; and 3) new wine in an old wineskin.Takeaways from Jesus’ Teachings:1. There are times when OLD WAYS have served their purpose.2. It is important to honor and to care for TRADITIONS of the past.3. We must not try to SQUEEZE the new into the old.4. Only GOD can make all things new.

January 29 was my first Sunday back following the death of my step-father on January 20. We certainly appreciate your prayers and encouragement as we mourn. I chose to preach from Genesis 1 and deal with the truth that God has created each of us in his image and that God created us to be creative! I offered some personal reflection on my experience in losing my step-dad and encouraged each person to consider their life's purpose and life's theme.

Jesus Christ is God incarnate [in the flesh]. He is the exact representation of God the Father. If you want to understand what God is like, just look at Jesus! Christmas is a reminder that we are to "put on Christ" and seek to be an exact imitation of him as we share his love with others.

In the Christmas Eve sermon, I shared that the birth of Christ is a wonderful and magnificent celebration, but without the resurrection, it would be just another birth story. We are reminded that we cannot separate Christmas from Easter. The birth of Christ is told in light of the death, burial, and resurrection. Jesus was born that we might have life to the full!We ended with a thought provoking statement: "Have you ever thought that Jesus is the only gift you can give away and still keep?" --Christmas blessings, Pastor Bob Lee

As we journey toward the celebration of the birth of our Savior, our text is "Mary's Song" -- her response to the revelation that God had chosen her to bring Jesus, the Savior, into the world. 1. Mary responded with an attitude of HUMILITY.2. Mary HONORED God.3. Mary points us to a HOPEFUL future.

In this message, we acknowledge that the wilderness is where God lives because that's where most of us live. The week preceding this message was a very challenging time for our people--lots of struggles. May this message offer hope that in the end, with God, everything will be all right.
