God is full of surprises. What does this mean for NHBC? 1. Expect God to have surprises for you (Exodus 3:1-4). 2. Have confidence in God’s leadership for you (Exodus 3:8-10). 3. Try new ideas (Exodus 3:10). 4. Be positive (Acts 4:36). God wants the best for you.

We need to discern God’s will for this church. 1. God has a plan for this congregation (Jeremiah 18:3). 2. Any church can stop the plan of God (Jeremiah 18:4a). 3. God will lead this church into the future (Jeremiah 18:4b-6). The key is to prayerfully depend upon God.

Paul reminds every Christian that he/she is both God’s “BUILDING and BUILDER.”  As Christians, we live in a world that is filled with many OPPORTUNITIES and CHALLENGES.  You are God’s TEMPLE and God’s SPIRIT lives in you.  There are four foundations that are crucial for building the right kind of church and the right kind of kingdom in which God reigns supreme:  1. There must be the right commitment to the RIGHT PERSON. 2. We must have the right commitment to the RIGHT BOOK! 3. We must be committed to the RIGHT MISSION. 4. We must work and serve him with the RIGHT MOTIVE.

We are in spiritual warfare. 1. We are to be strong in the Lord (verse 10). 2. We are to put on the full armor of God (verse 11). 3. We are to take our stand (verses 11, 13, 14). 4. We are to stand against the devil’s schemes (verses 11, 12). 5. God’s armor includes: A. The belt of truth (verse 14). B. The breastplate of righteousness (verse 14). C. The gospel of peace (verse 15). D. The shield of faith (verse 16). E. The helmet of salvation (verse 17). F. The sword of the Spirit (verse 17). We are to pray continuously in various ways (verse 18). The Holy Spirit empowers us (verse 18).
