This parable deals with life after death. 1. Our eternal destiny is based on the decisions we make in this life (Luke 16:19-24). 2. After death, our eternity is irreversible (Luke 16:25-26). 3. We need to tell others about Jesus (Luke 19:27-31). Our eternal life depends on our relationship with Jesus (John 3:16-18).

God often acts in UNEXPECTED ways. Why did God CHOOSE Mary? 1. She was PURE (Luke 1:27, 34). 2. She LISTENED to God (Luke 1:28-35). 3. She was AVAILABLE (Luke 1:38). 4. She was OBEDIENT (Luke 1:38). God WANTS to use us as well.

A Communion Meditation What kind of MAN was JOSEPH? 1. He was a CARING man (Matthew 1: 18-19). 2. He was a RELIGIOUS man (Matthew 1:20-23; Luke 2:22-24). 3. He was an OBEDIENT man (Matthew 1:24-25). God used Joseph in a MARVELOUS WAY.

Are you willing to share your donkey for the Lords work? How far can your blessings take the gospel if you're willing to turn them back over to God? The donkey may seem insignificant, but sometimes it's the biggest piece of the story.

We must show the same mercy to our enemies as God has given us. The statement "I'm not God" should be one of hope. Thank God, that God is God and NOT us! We must approach God just as a child approaches God so we can receive His mercy. We must share the mercy God has shared with us with those around us! Be reborn!

Operation Inasmuch Celebration Sunday - On September 26, 2015, the New Highland Baptist congregation went out to serve our community in various ways. This was our second year participating in this initiative. After hearing testimonies from many that participated, Michelle Brown, Missions Committee Chair, brought our message.

All would acknowledge that Jesus is a real person who lived among us, was a good example and a great teacher. Peter's story is common to us all. He says, "Jesus is Lord and Savior," but his actions/words don't show He truly is. There comes a time when miracles aren't enough. Then who do you say Jesus is? Jesus is the Christ! Jesus is a disturbing factor. He says to love your enemies and turn the other cheek. Who is Jesus? It's a story of grace. We have to decide every day who Jesus is. In the quicksand of life, there's always a rock at the bottom, and Jesus is the rock.

-We all "do" family in our own ways. -Not always biological families, but linked by love and common interests. -A family atmosphere permeates Philemon. -Highlights: 1. Paul writing from prison. 2. Philemon - dear friend & Christian brother - hosted a house church. 3. Onesimus - Philemon's slave 4. Paul asks Philemon to welcome Onesimus back in the faith. -The church as the family of God: governed by love - the key ingredient. Without love if profits nothing. 1. Refreshing love - rest, relax, restore our hearts, our gut 2. Freeing love - be who we are and do what we do (not an obligation) 3. Welcoming love - forgiving - Paul asked Philemon to welcome Onesimus back and to forgive him
