Psalm 17: 1-9 1 Hear me, Lord, my plea is just;     listen to my cry. Hear my prayer—     it does not rise from deceitful lips. 2 Let my vindication come from you;     may your eyes see what is right. 3 Though you probe my heart,     though you examine me at night and test me, you will find that I have planned no evil;     my mouth has not transgressed. 4 Though people tried to bribe me,     I have kept myself from the ways of the violent     through what your lips have commanded. 5 My steps have held to your paths;     my feet have not stumbled. 6 I call on you, my God, for you will answer me;     turn your ear to me and hear my prayer. 7 Show me the wonders of your great love,     you who save by your right hand     those who take refuge in you from their foes. 8 Keep me as the apple of your eye;     hide me in the shadow of your wings 9 from the wicked who are out to destroy me,     from my mortal enemies who surround me.

Psalm 63 1 You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water. 2 I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. 3 Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. 4 I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. 5 I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you.

Psalm 73: 21-28   21 When I became embittered and my innermost being was wounded, 22 I was stupid and didn’t understand; I was an unthinking animal toward You. 23 Yet I am always with You; You hold my right hand. 24 You guide me with Your counsel, and afterward You will take me up in glory.  25 Who do I have in heaven but You? And I desire nothing on earth but You. 26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart, my portion forever. 27 Those far from You will certainly perish; You destroy all who are unfaithful to You. 28 But as for me, God’s presence is my good. I have made the Lord God my refuge, so I can tell about all You do.

Psalm 37 1 Do not fret because of those who are evil     or be envious of those who do wrong; 2 for like the grass they will soon wither,     like green plants they will soon die away. 3 Trust in the Lord and do good;     dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. 4 Take delight in the Lord,     and he will give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the Lord;     trust in him and he will do this: 6 He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,     your vindication like the noonday sun. 7 Be still before the Lord     and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways,     when they carry out their wicked schemes. 8 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath;     do not fret—it leads only to evil. 9 For those who are evil will be destroyed,     but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land. 10 A little while, and the wicked will be no more;     though you look for them, they will not be found. 11 But the meek will inherit the land     and enjoy

I will conduct the affairs of my house     with a blameless heart. 3 I will not look with approval     on anything that is vile. I hate what faithless people do;     I will have no part in it. 4 The perverse of heart shall be far from me;     I will have nothing to do with what is evil. 5 Whoever slanders their neighbor in secret,     I will put to silence; whoever has haughty eyes and a proud heart,     I will not tolerate. 6 My eyes will be on the faithful in the land,     that they may dwell with me; the one whose walk is blameless     will minister to me. 7 No one who practices deceit     will dwell in my house; no one who speaks falsely     will stand in my presence. 8 Every morning I will put to silence     all the wicked in the land; I will cut off every evildoer     from the city of the Lord.

I have come into the deep waters;     the floods engulf me. 3 I am worn out calling for help;     my throat is parched. Give to your servant a listening heart, to discern between good and bad. Psalm 77:13-20 13 Your ways, God, are holy.     What god is as great as our God? 14 You are the God who performs miracles;     you display your power among the peoples. 15 With your mighty arm you redeemed your people,     the descendants of Jacob and Joseph. 16 The waters saw you, God,     the waters saw you and writhed;     the very depths were convulsed. 17 The clouds poured down water,     the heavens resounded with thunder;     your arrows flashed back and forth. 18 Your thunder was heard in the whirlwind,     your lightning lit up the world;     the earth trembled and quaked. 19 Your path led through the sea,     your way through the mighty waters,     though your footprints were not seen. 20 You led your people like a flock     by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

Psalm 14 1 The fool says in his heart,     “There is no God.” They are corrupt, their deeds are vile;     there is no one who does good. 2 The Lord looks down from heaven     on all mankind to see if there are any who understand,     any who seek God. 3 All have turned away, all have become corrupt;     there is no one who does good,     not even one. 4 Do all these evildoers know nothing? They devour my people as though eating bread;     they never call on the Lord. 5 But there they are, overwhelmed with dread,     for God is present in the company of the righteous. 6 You evildoers frustrate the plans of the poor,     but the Lord is their refuge. 7 Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion!     When the Lord restores his people,     let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!
