The Sharks would show some early fight in a physical affair with the Philadelphia Flyers with an early Hertl goal setup by Erik Karlsson. Flyers would battle back and counter punch in the first with Konecny’s 16th on the season. Hertl would add a power play marker in the second frame, giving the Sharks an ounce of hope they might pull out a W. Labanc would lengthen the lead, but the consistent attack of the Flyers would pay off with a pair of goals to even up the game with 2:05 left in the third. Coming off a victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday, the San Jose Sharks went into Toronto and held their own. Unfortunately, Team Teal would lose late on a Pierre Engvall goal with 2 1/2 minutes left in regulation. Toronto Maple Leafs defeat the Sharks 3-1. Tonights’s contest would mark the unveiling of the Reverse Retro 2.0 jersey against the LA Kings. Unfortunately for the Sharks, they would channel more California Seals play of the 1970’s than the peak performance they showed in the 2000’s. The Kings would score an early goal in the first only to have it overturned on review due to offsides, however it would not matter as Jared Anderson-Dolan would score a little later. Kevin Labanc would score to even up the game but Phillip Danault would answer back late. The Kings would score again at the beginning of the 2nd period, Barabanov would make it interesting making the game 3-2 going into the 3rd period.However the Kings would pull away with another 2 goals handing the L to the Sharks 5-2.
