  • 2017 UNLV football preview

    17/08/2017 Duración: 01h17min

Jeremy and Matt are back for the FINAL team preview as we discuss the UNLV Rebels. There is a lot to like on the UNLV offense with the running back tandem of Lexington Thomas and Charles Williams running the ball and wide receiver Devonte Boyd. The one concern is the quarterback with redshirt freshman Armani Rogers who has not yet taken a snap, but the optimism is through the roof for what Rogers could become. The defense has a lot more concerns and is the one area that needs to over perform if they are going to make it to a bowl game this year. SUPPORT THE PODCAST This episode is presented by Texture. • 2017 Air Force Football Preview

    10/08/2017 Duración: 01h18min

Our second to last preview featues the Air Force Falcons. Jeremy and Matt discuss everything from what to expect from the Academy this year. The big issue is the 10 starters the team loses on defense and how that could impact Air Force's season. The offense, per usual, is the bright spot for this team and it is led by Arion Worthman who took over mideason and looked the part of a great Falcons quarterback. • Colorado State fall camp update

    08/08/2017 Duración: 27min

We bring on Rich Kurtzman of MIle High Sports and 5280 Sports Network to discuss the Colorado State Rams fall camp so far. The Rams have had one scrimmage, their media day and also had an open house for their new on-campus stadium. The interview dives into the offense with the quarterback situation that was murky for part of last year with injuries and unexpected play by Nick Stevens -- poor -- and freshman Collin Hill -- good. We get into the riches of the running back position, who will step up on defense and also who Rich picks in the Mountain Division. SUPPORT THE PODCAST This episode is presented by Texture. • San Jose State names Jean Prioleau new coach

    07/08/2017 Duración: 55min

We are back for our first basketball podcast in awhile with Jeremy Mauss being joined by Eli Boettger to talk San Jose State's hiring of Jean Prioleau to be their next head coach. Prioleau most recently was the associate head coach at Colorado and has 18 years of experience as assistant coach. We discuss other names that came up in the search for this job, and two that likely would have been a bad fit for the Spartans. The first coaching power rankings are out with San Jose State locking down its hire and we dissect the list and also answer your questions. SUPPORT THE PODCAST This episode is presented by Texture. • 2017 Hawaii football preview

    03/08/2017 Duración: 01h04min

The latest preview podcast focuses on the Hawaii football team which is coming off a 7-7 year where they beat Middle Tennessee State in the bowl game in Nick Rolovich's first year on the sidelines. The Warriors finally have their quarterback position settled with Dru Brown as the returning starter. It has been a few years with no battle or injury at that position. Brown came in midway last year and shined for the Warriors and expectations are high for Hawaii to repeat what they did last year. Their schedule is not as tough and have a lot less travel as they are not going to Sydney this season. The defense should take a step forward with returning talent and the offense needs to find a wide receiver to replace the production of Marcus Kemp. • Is the American better than the Mountain West?

    23/07/2017 Duración: 49min

In our latest podcast we expand the conversation about the #AmericanPowr6 with Collin Sherwin of The Daily Stampede who covers South Florida for SB Nation. We first get into what Mike Aresco is thinking about promoting the American Athletic Conference as a Power 6 league. Sherwin was there on hand at media days for the comments about the commissioner's vision. Next we go back and forth about how good the American vs. Mountain West is and if there is any point from doing a challenge between the two leagues in football. Then we divert to talk MLS, Tijuana, hypothetical bowl games and Petco Park. SUPPORT THE PODCAST This episode is presented by Texture. • 2017 Fresno State Football Preview

    20/07/2017 Duración: 01h11min

In this latest show we talk Fresno State's expectations as Jeff Tedford is the new head coach for the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs are coming off a one-win season and the hope is that they win more than that last year, but there is a lot of work to do to get this Fresno State team back to the level of winning they are used to. There is talent at wide receiver position and there is hope that this offense will take a step forward with quarterback Chason Virgil back under center and an offensive line that can't be worse than they were last season. After reading comments from commissioner Mike Aresco it makes more sense in that he is trying to get his league to the next level by being creative.  Also, Wyoming is hoping to get ESPN College Gaeday to come to Laramie. • The American is still forcing the #Pow6r

    18/07/2017 Duración: 23min

The return of the daily-ish good morning Mountain West podcast is back!  Everyone must be thinking what the heck is up the this title. Well, it is a what the American Athletic Conference is branding themselves. They are trying to shoehorn their league into a non-existent seat at the big boy table. We give them credit since the Mountain West is not doing much, but still come on AAC. I also threw some shade at CBS Sports who for some reason believe the AAC has earned the benefit of the doubt in terms of respect among the Group of Five. They don't have that and have only been to one NY6 bowl game. The other news hit in this podcast is a bit more detail on Air Force's Troy Calhoun discussing an eight-team playoff with a preceding playoff between four Group of Five teams. ----- SUPPORT THE PODCAST This episode is presented by Texture. • 2017 New Mexico Lobos football preview

    12/07/2017 Duración: 01h22min

Jeremy and Matt are back to talk about one of the most interesting teams in the Mountain West: the New Mexico Lobos. Their run-option attack will put a scare into any team they face this year and it does not really matter that they lost Teriyon Gipson because the next running back up should replicate his success, or be very close. New Mexico does have a senior quarterback in Lamar Jordan which could help this offense if he can increase his passing percentage a few points and get above 55 percent. The big concern is the defense. Last year, the Lobos defense was right around average but they lose majority of those players from last year. This very well could cause this unit to take a step back. With the defense not being as good that will mean the offense will need to outscore opponents this year. WAYS TO SUPPORT THE SHOW. Help us out by getting a FREE 14-day trial to Texture. • 2017 Utah State football preview

    06/07/2017 Duración: 01h25min

Jeremy and Matt are back with a few announcements on the show. First off, all of our content is currently being hosted at patreon.com/MWCwire until our official home is finalized at CollegeFootballNews.com. This latest show previews Utah State who is coming off a year where they went 3-9 but did lose four games by a touchdown or less. There is promise with this Aggies team with those close loses. The big question about this team is if Matt Wells will be back as head coach after the 2017 season. We does have a contract through 2019 and had support from the AD, however a third-straight losing season might do him in. The Aggies had a big blow when wide receiver Rayshad Lewis decided to transfer after spring football. Lewis was expected to play a key role on offense and be part of one of the best wide receiver units in the country. The running back position is one to watch now that Devante Mays has moved on to the NFL. The running game last year was poor when Mays was out and neither Tonny Lindsey or LaJuan Hun
