Laurie returns to the podcast to join me and Krys. Greig is missing, which is unusual timing considering his side got their arguably their biggest win of the season. I suppose it’s only Hamilton. John has homework due for tomorrow. Hearts sealed the Championship title at the weekend, so it’s perfect timing to get Laurie on to discuss his team. Away from the fame of featuring on the SFF podcast, Laurie has been quietly working away at Hearts. Talk turns to his on air work, and specifically pronunciation of footballer’s names. A pie upgrade and karma are what I have to report from recent games at Ibrox. Krys gets another shot of hosting so he can bask in the glory of his team's triumph in capturing the first domestic honours of the season. But being the humble kind, he immediately hands over to this week's guests John and Greig so they can talk about their teams' Friday night battle in the Premiership. Talk then progresses to the other Premiership games and arguably the worst charity bet attempt yet, before taking a look at the Championship to see if Hearts have won it yet and how the run for the playoffs is shaping up for the other teams miles behind them. Finally they get back to talk about the events at Hampden before focusing on the next important game at Hampden - Scotland's attempted thumping of Gibraltar (with a side order of a Northern Irish friendly) - as Gordon Strachan's latest squad choices are up for scrutiny. It’s me, Greig and Krys again this week, because John is in jail. Rangers EGM and our brief opinion on King. Sticking with Rangers, we touch on whether an old or new manager is likely anytime soon. Camshy suggested on the forum (http://forums.scottishfootballforums.co.uk/topic/20179-podcast-topics/) that we discuss top scorers. Celtic vs St Johnstone, Motherwell vs Killie and Ross county vs Partick Thistle are the Premiership games that we discuss. With Krys and Greig both going to the first two. The Premiership was quiet due to the Scottish Cup quarter finals. The live game on cooncil telly wasn’t really up to much, apart from the headed goal from Sibbald. Hibs vs Berwick Rangers wasn’t the contest it may have been and I even give Cummings some praise. Dundee United vs Celtic was the big talking point of the weekend, largely due to red cards and the lack of red cards. Derek Riordan’s headed equaliser is applauded, and rightly so. I start the podcast with a little positivity, despite Rangers being beaten 2-0 by Hibs. John goes on to be positive about a positive result (from Aberdeen), which is not the SFF podcast theme this week. Greig proves he is the romantic in the team. Despite me being all for welcoming foreign football teams to our country and perhaps allowing them use of training facilities ;), John has a different tact. Alcohol at football is a hot topic once again, and we all seem generally in favour, but realise the potential pitfalls. Greig’s main concern is that they might sell Carling at Fir Park. It wasn’t easy, but we persuaded Greig that Celtic -4 wasn’t a good idea for the McBookie charity bet. It was Scottish Cup weekend for 16 Scottish clubs this past weekend, with 3 of the games on the telly. John and Krys join me to discuss the games. Amongst other things, we discuss proving intent when it comes to malicious offences like stamping on an opponent. It’s an interesting topic to some, but not to Jonathan Sutherland who thinks we should just use our eyes. In addition we have some good news for the charity bet. I don’t want to ruin the surprise, but there might have been a very large addition to the prize pot. With Christmas around the corner, we decide to have a Christmas themed podcast, featuring all four of the podcast regulars – me (Craig), Greig, John and Krys. Don’t worry, this doesn’t mean that we recite the full Nativity, it simply means that we all have a drink. Well, technically I didn’t drink any alcohol, but I did discuss my love of Tennent’s (hint, hint for a freebie case of Tennent’s if anyone at the Wellpark Brewery is reading/listening to this). We start off with what is a bit of a regular occurrence – a negative review of how the McBookie charity bet went. Motherwell held up their end of the bargain, but Partick Thistle let us down. To be specific, it was the own goal by Balatoni that let us, and charity, down. We didn’t do too well in the charity bet either, despite Krys almost picking the correct Arbroath player.
