  • S5E8 The Sound of Silence

    14/09/2015 Duración: 01h09min

It's another week of technical difficulties unfortunately, and we're not just talking about the Celtic defence. Krys is joined by John and Andy once again to look back at all the weekend's action, but obviously given their affiliations they focus mainly on one game in particular. What was Craig Thomson thinking on a number of occasions? Can Aberdeen now go on an mount a title challenge? Is it too early to tell? Is it too early for a knee jerk reaction? We cover all of this and more as we also look back on the Friday night game, a later charity bet scupper, and when Connie met Keith. The technical difficulties aren't the only silences though as some of Krys's comments are met with a similar response. Could next week be the week we get a charity bet win and a gremlin-free podcast? We can only hope. Thanks as always to McBookie for providing the stakes. Follow sffpodcast On Twitter to keep abreast of the latest charity bet odds, and to just generally join in with the chat. • S5E7 Strachan Sie Deutsch

    08/09/2015 Duración: 01h23min

Krys is joined once again by John and Andy to dissect Scotland's double header against Georgia and Germany. There's plenty to talk about across the two games, from where it went wrong to how good the Germans are, through to what chance - if any - Scotland still have of qualifying for Euro 2016. Before that though there's a look at the domestic action from the weekend in the lower leagues, as well as the first round draw for the Scottish Cup. After the Scotland discussion comes the usual Premiership predictions and charity bet choices with the stakes, as always, being provided with thanks from McBookie. Just like Scotland's campaign, this podcast all goes wrong in the end as John disappears, so yet again we apologise for the technical difficulties. Stick with it until the end though and you'll find a comedy reward... unless you're one of Krys's German teachers from his school days that is! • S5E6 Yogi Does Dallas

    31/08/2015 Duración: 01h10min

It's a two man podcast this week as John joins Krys for a long chat about a number of talking points. It's just a pity Krys didn't have his microphone plugged in properly for the first fifteen minutes! Celtic in and out of Europe and their possible transfer moves is followed up by the League Cup second round action and third round draw, before turning to the real meat of the podcast and the woeful performances of some of Scotland's supposed finest referees. Andrew Dallas, Steven McLean, Stephen Finnie, Craig Thomson, Willie Collum and Bobby Madden all get analysed to death before we get supplied with a statement from Stewart Regan defending them all. Typical. The Scotland double header against Georgia and Germany then gets a preview before moving on to attempt another charity bet win from the lower leagues after disappointment this week. With thanks as always to McBookie for providing the stakes. Follow sffpodcast On Twitter to keep abreast of the latest charity bet odds, and to just generally join in with th

  • S5E5 Shot Gunn Charity Bet

    24/08/2015 Duración: 01h04min

John and Andy join Krys to discuss the weekend SPFL action. John brings his in depth Championship review, Andy gives us the lowdown on action from the highlands, and Krys apparently got a cold watching Celtic in Europe. Between them they manage to cover most of the interesting talking points from the weekend before moving on discuss the midweek European and League Cup fixtures before finishing up with predictions for the coming weekend games. The charity bet was a bust this weekend, but there's another crack at it this weekend coming. With thanks as always to McBookie for providing the stakes. • S5E4 Siamese Showboating

    17/08/2015 Duración: 59min

It's a two man podcast this week as Krys is joined by John to first go off at an odd tangent before going on to discuss how they can now bring the podcast to a close thanks to the McBookie charity bet double win at the weekend. Fortunately all this showboating is good for the game, although someone needs to tell Alloa Athletic. Remembering there's still other things to discuss, Krys and John move on to the midweek Premiership fixtures, the Scott Allan transfer saga ending, weekend fixtures across four divisions, a European fixture coming up for Celtic and of course more predictions for the coming weekend before having another crack at winning money for charity. And all of that in just under an hour. About time this podcast was a sensible length again! Follow sffpodcast On Twitter for all your home of Scottish Football banter needs. Or at least to get an update on the charity bet odds later in the week. http://forums.scottishfootballforums.co.uk/

  • S5E3 Doing a Sportscene

    10/08/2015 Duración: 01h13min

This week, Krys listens in as Laurie and John discuss the weekend's action. No really, Krys is there, you'll hear him occasionally. We spend ages discussing a couple of the games, skate over others, before slagging off Sportscene for doing exactly the same thing. Well, one of us is supposed to be professional and get paid for doing this, and it's sadly not us! We have a quick look back at Celtic and Aberdeen in Europe last week before moving on to the double fixtures in the predictors for the week ahead. Finally, after a disappointing week last week we have another crack at the charity bet courtesy of McBookie who apparently haven't quite got all the lower league fixtures up yet. We're confident it's worth it though! Follow sffpodcast On Twitter to be kept up to speed with how those bets will go later in the week! http://forums.scottishfootballforums.co.uk/

  • S5E2 Obvious Goal Scoring Opportunities

    03/08/2015 Duración: 01h28min

Krys isn't alone this week, hurrah! Joining Krys on the podcast this week is John and Laurie to discuss the "controversial" moments from the weekend's Premiership action. Unsurprisingly there's a long discussion about how obvious is an obvious goal scoring opportunity before you get a red card. Fortunately, there were some other incidents and goals to discuss beyond that as well. The League Cup first round results and second round draw get a once over, and everyone agrees it's not exciting until the big teams enter in round three. Then we move on to talk about the more exciting World Cup draw. Again. The charity bet returns this week, and we try to ease our way into it and look to Craig's contacts for inspiration after realising there's a complete lack of obvious choices. With thanks to McBookie for the stakes. sffpodcast On Twitterhttp://forums.scottishfootballforums.co.uk/

  • S5E1 Ronery

    27/07/2015 Duración: 09min

It's July, the football is back, and so are we! Well... I say "we"... "We" take a look back at how the European campaigns have gone for Scotland's four representatives so far, before moving on to mention the big World Cup qualifying draw that took place at the weekend. After that "we" have a quick look at the Petrofac Training Cup first round before moving on to the Premiership predictions as always. No charity bet this week, but it should be back as normal next week with our usual thanks to McBookie for their generosity in once again allowing us to not cost them as much money as people who are good at gambling. sffpodcast On Twitterhttp://forums.scottishfootballforums.co.uk/

  • S4E45 The Season Finale

    15/06/2015 Duración: 57min

In the final podcast of the season, Krys, John and Craig discuss the Ireland vs Scotland game in detail, as well as looking back on their favourite moments of the season. Tennent’s, Mark Warburton, McBookie and charity also feature. If you want to be part of the SFF podcast next season, please contact @SFFPodcast on Twitter and you could appear as a guest next season. Thank you to McBookie for donating the charity bet stake. The podcast is available via RSS, iTunes, or you can listen using the widget below. • S4E44 Winner Stays On

    08/06/2015 Duración: 01h15min

It's June, and yet here we are still recording up to date and relevant Scottish Football podcasts! This week, Krys is host as regular John is joined by guest Andy to discuss the finer points of football in the Highlands and the Juniors. Andy gives us his insight into the varied fortunes of the northern teams from Caley Thistle and Ross County through to Brora Rangers and Formartine United. We then take a look back at Auchinleck Talbot's record eleventh Scottish Junior Cup win over Musselburgh, and another discussion about the merits of the various Junior leagues across the country. Meanwhile, Krys tries to fake knowing anything about the Juniors by way of Wikipedia. Speaking of country, Scotland have a vital European qualifier coming up next weekend, so we take a look back at what we might have learned from the friendly against Qatar and try to answer the important questions like "where does a streaker hide his wee dram?" No charity bets left this season, but thanks to McBookie for their generosity over the c

  • S4E43 Greig's Swansong

    01/06/2015 Duración: 01h12min

The Premiership play offs concluded with games on Thursday and Sunday. Chance would have it that Greig makes an appearance on the podcast after having a few nights off. What a coincidence. Craig and Krys listen in as he gloats/discusses the game from a Motherwell fans point of view. It’s lucky that unbiased Rangers fan Craig is on hand to counter. Football is of course covered, but unfortunately there were non footballing events that stole the headlines. It was the final of the big cup on Saturday, with both Craig and Krys present at Hampden as neutrals. Inverness won the cup for the first time in their short history. Pies, binoculars, pints and smoke bombs feature. It’s Greig’s final podcast, so tell all your friends from Arbroath that it’s safe to listen again. The final total of the charity bet is announced, along with the recipient of the money. £425 will be going to a very worthy cause – http://www.edinburghsickkids.org/. Thank you very much to McBookie for providing us with the charity bets each week. T

  • S4E42 Play Offs and Cup Final Review

    25/05/2015 Duración: 43min

As has been mentioned on the podcast before, we are officially in the business end of the season. When the going gets tough, the tough get up and leave, and that means Greig and Krys. Greig is off helping Ian Baraclough with his homework prior to the play off final, and Krys is dropped for his recent lack of stats. Hopefully both will return next week. That means it’s John and Craig to talk you through the last week of Scottish fitba and to look ahead to the upcoming games. Tennent’s and Brahma are on the menu. If you ever need anyone to hype up a product, or event, John is your man. The way he bigs up the upcoming podcast is priceless. Rangers squeezed past Hibs in the Premiership play off semi final. The first leg was 2-0 at Ibrox, which was enjoyable for Craig, apart from the bizarre road closures that followed. The second leg may have been a good watch, but Craig has no idea due to watching a pop concert, followed by a little Snoop Dogg. It was this point that John disappeared from the podcast temporarily

  • S4E41 Coiny and a Wee Bit of Fitba

    18/05/2015 Duración: 01h13min

It’s me (Craig), John and Krys once again this week. Scotland’s squad for the double header against the footballing powerhouse Qatar and also Ireland has been announced. We discuss who deserved it and who didn’t. The lower three play offs came to a conclusion, in what might be described as boring. We discuss why that might be the case. The Premiership play off first round, or quarter final, or whatever it’s called concluded on Sunday. Unfortunately there was no pie review, but that doesn’t mean that the discussion was completely pointless. Second bottom in the Premiership was decided at the weekend, with the bottom half providing the bulk of the football entertainment in the Premiership. There was also an elbow and a headbutt that was worth discussing. Coiny came up in conversation and perhaps I mistakenly thought that everybody knew what it was. I am in my early 30s and it was certainly a thing when I was at primary school. A quick Google suggests that it might just have been me that called it coiny. We fini

  • S4E39 2-0 and Zeefuiked it Up

    04/05/2015 Duración: 01h13min

I am back on the podcast and also back on editing duties. Technical issues have been resolved and my new puppy has settled into his new home. Alfie joins us for the first few minutes, but quickly falls asleep due to the boring chat about Scottish football. McBookie have kindly allowed us to continue the first scorer charity bet into the playoffs, so after the disappointment of another winless weekend, we have a little positivity that may or may not bring us luck. We discuss the highlights from the top tier, including a contender for goal of the season (or was it just a shot that the keeper didn’t want to save?), manhandling referees in a way that only Bougherra is allowed to do, amongst other talking points. Outside the top tier, many of the promotion and relegation places were secured, with the play off places being secured to eventually decide the remainder of the ups and downs. Further to that discussion, congratulations to the respective winners of the four tiers. Should Yogi have won manager of the year,

  • S4E38 Puppies, Pyramids, Playoffs and POTYs

    27/04/2015 Duración: 01h02min

Krys hosts once again as Craig takes a week out to play with a puppy. If only those running the game would do the same, Scottish football would be in a much better state. Krys is joined by Greig and John, and among other things they discuss the possible/probable plight of Motherwell in the Premiership playoff, who Queen of the South will face in the first round of that same playoff, the exciting upcoming finale to the extremely tight League One title race, and the remaining playoff spots for the Championship and League One playoffs. Yes, that's how they're named despite being three quarters made up from the division below. The Pyramid playoff gets a mention as well just to cap everything off, and of course the ongoing title race in the Premiership gets a mention too, before discussing the likelihood of another title race next season. Finally there's a look at the still ridiculously early Player of the Year awards, before we try to pick another charity bet winner - which takes a while due to temptation. Thank

  • S4E37 Put Your Hands Up for Inverness

    21/04/2015 Duración: 01h17min

It’s been a busy week in Scottish football, on and off the pitch. On this week’s podcast, John, Krys and I discuss: Post split fixture delays Championship final fixture mismatch Falkirk’s win over Hibs in the Scottish Cup semi final Inverness’ win over Celtic after extra time in the other semi final. Including that handball Video refereering and whether it would have helped in the “handball” situation The play offs McBookie charity bet Both Premiership games over the last week Premiership predictions And finally, the first scorer bet Thank you to McBookie for donating the charity bet stake. • S4E36 Craig for Compliance Officer

    14/04/2015 Duración: 01h14min

Game of Thrones was back this week, so Craig, Krys and John all decided to wait until Tuesday this week to talk about a busy week in Scottish Football. Okay, Craig and Krys watched Game of Thrones, John had work commitments. Midweek Premiership fixtures including a Dundee derby, weekend Premiership fixtures including Aberdeen getting a helping hand from the referee in a game they dominated anyway, key games in both the Premiership and the Championship as far as the playoffs are concerned... all of that pales into insignificance when Craig drops a bombshell at the end of the podcast. Craig for Compliance Officer, or Craig for new Top Gear host? Finally, there's the usual predictions and attempts to win money for charity. Thank you to McBookie for donating the charity bet stake. sffpodcast On Twitterhttp://forums.scottishfootballforums.co.uk/

  • S4E35 Gone to the Dogs

    06/04/2015 Duración: 01h04min

Golf, dogs, brown envelopes, cats, beverages and a wee bit of Scottish fitba chat. Thank you to McBookie for donating the charity bet stake. The podcast is available via RSS, iTunes, or you can listen using the widget below. SFFPodcast On Twitter http://forums.scottishfootballforums.co.uk/

  • S4E34 Sent Him Homework to Think Again

    30/03/2015 Duración: 01h10min

We have a special guest this week as Andy joins me, Krys and John. He writes for the Press & Journal and brings with him a wealth of knowledge of Scottish football, as well as bringing his educated view on the Highland & Lowland League play offs. We discuss Scotland’s double header against Northern Ireland and Gibraltar and how the qualifying campaign looks now. Laurie fluked the charity bet last week with his punt on Osman Sow. We try to repeat that by opting to go for a new face – Bryan Prunty. Thank you to McBookie for donating the charity bet stake. SFFPodcast On Twitter http://forums.scottishfootballforums.co.uk/
