  • S2E4 Transfer Fees

    20/08/2012 Duración: 53min

Greig returns to join Krys and I. Transfer fees is the main topic of conversation. Specifically it’s how much English teams pay for a player from Scotland. Krys once again provides his SPL and SFL review and we discuss the main talking points. Following another poor week, Greig picks the Paul Band Charity Bet, with four sure things. Thank you to McBookie for donating the charity bet stake.

  • S2E3 Should Division Three Players Be Considered for the National Team?

    13/08/2012 Duración: 41min

Greig takes a week off, so it’s me, John and Krys for this show. Krys gives us his regular SPL run down and John talks us through his day at Pittodrie. Ian Black has been called up to the Scotland squad, and it has led to many questioning whether a third division player should be considered for the national team. We give our thoughts on this subject. McBookie have pledged to donate the £10 per week stake for the charity bet, in what can simply be described as a great gesture. Thank you. Unfortunately we got three out of three wrong last week, my bad, so Krys takes on the role of bet selector. There are two ends to this podcast as I totally forget about the predictions. That wasnt my only mistake, because I think I referred to STV as SPL, on more than one occasion. Thanks for listening. Enjoy.

  • S2E2 Would Team GB Work Long Term?

    06/08/2012 Duración: 37min

The first round of SPL games are done, so we discuss who has impressed us so far, and who hasn’t. In this week’s topic, we discuss whether Team GB would work longer term. Whether it could be used as a replacement for the individual nations during the World Cup, or the European Championships. Thanks to OutsideMid on Twitter for the suggestion The first Paul Band charity bet came up trumps, so we attempt to repeat the feat by picking the next bet live on the podcast. As always, we end the show with our score predictions, as well as a look back at how we did last week.

  • S2E1 2012-13 Season Preview

    30/07/2012 Duración: 34min

Craig, Krys and Greig return to preview the upcoming season in the SPL, 1st, 2nd and 3rd divisions. The charity bet returns, and once again it’s a controversial selection, even though it was intende as a banker.

  • S1E46 Podcast in a Pub

    28/05/2012 Duración: 01h07min

To mark the end of the season, we decided to ditch Skype and record the podcast in a pub. Laurie sorted us out a free function room in the Pony bar in bath street in Glasgow. I was obviously joined by podcast regulars Laurie, Greig and Krys, with a number of others joining in the banter too. From the forum, we had Gary (Pele), Michael(Grumpy Old Man) and John (Johnarob). From previous podcasts, we had Tom (from http://www.scottishfootballblog.co.uk/), Scott (fromhttp://www.thefootyblog.net/) and John (laconic). Topics include the alternative player of the year awards, the future of Scottish football and highlights of the season. The podcast was recorded in a pub with the beers flowing, so the language gets a little colourful. Craig

  • S1E45 Scottish Cup Review

    21/05/2012 Duración: 44min

There were no SPL games at the weekend, but we did have the biggest Scottish Cup final in years. Laurie definitely enjoyed the post match celebrations and he gives us his account of the match from his view from the stands, and we comment on the game based on our view in front of the TV. The Scottish Cup might have been the high profile game of the weekend, but there were also the second legs of the play off finals from the SFL, which we discuss. The Paul Band charity bet ended on a low, but the main positive is that we managed to achieve £140, which will be on it’s way to Yorkhill.

  • S1E44 The Final Games in the SPL and the Scottish Cup Final Preview

    14/05/2012 Duración: 01h11min

It is a full house as Laurie, Krys, Greig join me to discuss the final weekend of the SPL. Well, three of us discuss the SPL games, because Laurie didn’t watch any of the highlights. Laurie also tells us how nervous he is in the run up to the Scottish Cup final and we all give our predictions for the game. The Paul Band Charity bet has had a few lean weeks, so we take a slightly different approach to this weeks bet. Laurie is on editing duty, which you will probably realise with the ending to the podcast. Craig

  • S1E43 Relegation and European Qualification

    08/05/2012 Duración: 01h22min

Laurie makes his long awaited return to the podcast after a sabbatical to concentrate on his uni work. You can tell he is in charge of editing again when you hear the intro music (Ed - we had to take the music out after ten years because of copyright!) Greig is sick (not like that) and misses this week, so it's me (Craig), Krys and Laurie. We cover two rounds of SPL ties in this busy podcast. With the season coming to a close, we see 3rd and 4th place being secured, as well as the relegation spot being decided. Laurie takes over the Paul Band charity bet, after another poor performance last week. Finally we preview the final SPL games of the season. Craig

  • S1E42 Goals, Goals, Goals and the Final Old Firm of the Season

    30/04/2012 Duración: 58min

The SPL had twenty four goals over the weekend, so there is plenty to discuss in this week’s podcast. On Sunday there was the last Old Firm game at Celtic Park, with Celtic winning 3-0, so there is obviously a lot of praise for Celtic, and perhaps the opposite for Rangers. Krys chose the Paul Band charity bet last week, but after under performing I take over the selection process.

  • S1E41 Post Split SPL Banter

    23/04/2012 Duración: 59min

Greig, Krys and I have been described as the dream team (my words), but I read a couple of humorous podcast reviews that suggest otherwise. It was only after the podcast that I realised I should have read out positive reviews as well, but that can maybe wait until next week. This weekend seen the first matches in the SPL following the split. The Championship is tied up, but the fight at the top is for the remaining Champions League qualification spot in third. St Johnstone faced Dundee United, who both have eyes on 3rd, and Motherwell face champions Celtic. At the other end of the table, Dunfermline and Hibs were both in action in the hope they can avoid the drop. Krys steps up to the plate with this week’s Paul Band charity bet. I let everyone down with only one win out of four, so hopefully he can do better. Next week sees the final (ever?) Old Firm of the season and we stick our necks out and try to predict a winner. Celtic got two votes and Rangers got one. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to guess who

  • S1E40 Scottish Cup Semi Final Special - Goals, Celebrations, Handballs and Neil Lennon

    16/04/2012 Duración: 01h09min

Greig returns to join Krys and I for this week’s podcast. With two Scottish Cup semi finals this weekend, there is plenty to cover. There were six goals, with one being particularly tasty, and two stand out celebrations, with one including a dummy(no offence Leigh) and one being potentially the best celebration you will see at Hampden. In the Hearts vs Celtic game, there were a number of contentious decisions, so we try and cover those as impartially as we can. During this discussion, I get out the FIFA rule book, to discuss the definition of a hand ball, and try to persuade others that a penalty was the correct decision. Following Neil Lennon’s rush onto the pitch, and subsequent Twitter comments, we discuss how he is maybe a nice guy really and just needs to work on his public persona. We were going for a third Paul Band charity bet victory in a row, but alas it was not to be. I take the honour of picking this week’s matches, in the hope we can add to the pot. The SPL returns this weekend, with the first of

  • S1E39 Scottish Cup Semi Final Preview

    09/04/2012 Duración: 52min

As well as reviewing the weekend’s SPL games, we preview the upcoming Scottish Cup semi finals, as well as the Junior Scottish Cup semi finals.

  • S1E38 Success in the Paul Band Charity Bet

    02/04/2012 Duración: 01h14min

John makes a comeback on the podcast, join Craig and Krys, as Greig takes a week off. John is a big fan of our national team, so discussion sways towards Levein’s selection policy, a Scotland B team, as well as covering a few exciting wingers we have in the SPL. We discuss the weekends SPL games, with it being a particularly good weekend, containing some very good goals. There is an update on the Paul Band, with the pot swelling to almost £90. Yorkhill has been chosen as the charity to benefit from the charity pot at the end of the season. We conclude the podcast with our predictions for the final SPL games prior to the split.

  • S1E37 Old Firm Review

    26/03/2012 Duración: 01h04min

Craig, Greig and Krys return to discuss the weekend’s SPL games, including Sunday’s Old Firm game between Rangers and Celtic. We also preview next weekends SPL games, as well as predicting the scores.

  • S1E36 Killie Win the Cup and a Preview of Rangers vs Celtic

    19/03/2012 Duración: 01h02min

Congratulations to Kilmarnock, who made history as they won the League Cup at the weekend, by beating Celtic 1-0. We discuss the main talking points of the game, including a debate on whether the late penalty claim should have been given. I did predict the 1-0 victory to Killie, but I don’t like to go on about it  There is an update on the Paul Band Charity, which only managed a 50% success rate last weekend, with there hopefully being a change in fortune with next weeks prediction. St Mirren play Hearts in a Scottish Cup replay on Wednesday night, and we predict who will progress to the semi finals. It’s an important weekend for SPL title, with the possibility of Celtic clinching the title depending on certain results in the Kilmarnock vs Motherwell game and the Rangers vs Celtic game. We give our predictions for the aforementioned games, as well as the other four SPL games.

  • S1E35 Scottish Cup Quarter Finals

    12/03/2012 Duración: 50min

The SFF regulars return – Craig, Greig and Krys. There was only one SPL game last weekend, but it still gave us the goal of the entire weekend, although the scorer might not agree. The Scottish Cup quarter finals took place, with Aberdeen, Hibs and Celtic progressing, with St Mirren and Hearts going to a replay. Sunday sees the league cup final between Celtic and Kilmarnock and we make our predictions on the scoreline and winner. We also predict the SPL games that are due to take place, with Rangers' visit to Tannadice and the Edinburgh derby being two stand out games. • S1E34 SPL Review and a Look Ahead to the Scottish Cup

    05/03/2012 Duración: 01h02min

Krys continues his duties as part of the core podcast team, with Greig being this weeks special guest. The Scotland game gets out focus at the start of the podcast, however Greig isnt too interested in the game itself. We continue with our usual SPL review. Luckily Laurie is still on his holidays, or I would have to endure his gloating for the entire hour. Rangers inevitably get a mention, with player redundancies still unknown at the time of recording on Monday evening. We preview the sole SPL game of the coming weekend, with our main focus being on the Scottish Cup ties.

  • S1E33 SPL Banter and Slovenia vs Scotland

    27/02/2012 Duración: 55min

Laurie is taking a sabbatical, so I am joined by Krys and Greig to discuss the past week in Scottish football. The podcast starts with a review of the latest SPL games from last week, as well as the weekend. The Paul Band Charity Bet got three results correct at the weekend, but unfortunately two were wrong, so there was no return. We mention the bet for next weekends games, with over £100 up for grabs if they all come up. Scotland travel to Slovenia on Wednesday night, so we attempt to predict the result, although the predictions are not altogether serious. The game is live on http://primetimelive.co.uk/ for £4.99. We conclude the podcast with a look ahead to the weekends SPL games and make our weekly predictions.

  • S1E32 Rangers and the Scotland Squad for Slovenia Game

    20/02/2012 Duración: 01h10min

Krys continues his regular guest spot by joining Laurie and I on this weeks podcast. Laurie started a couple of polls and we discuss the results. Poll one asked whether you prefer cup games to be played to a conclusion, or to have a replay. The second poll asked whether the SPL would be better or worse without Rangers. We discuss the latest Scotland squad for the upcoming friendly against Slovenia, focusing on key inclusions and exclusions. Paul Band gives us this weeks Paul Band Charity bet after my woeful effort last week. This week’s podcast marks Laurie’s last show before taking a short break to focus on his studies, so there is a sad tinge to this podcast. Craig

  • S1E31 Rangers Imminent Administration

    13/02/2012 Duración: 01h19min

It’s a full house on this week’s podcast, with Laurie and I being joined by Krys and Greig. To start thing of, we discuss the news that Rangers have filed their intention for going into administration. With a Celtic, Rangers, Motherwell and Rangers fan on the podcast, we try to give our balanced reaction. As a Motherwell fan, Greig, gives us his own experience of administration. We also review the weekends SPL games, with Greig owing me money for his Ojaama hatrick tip. I take the opportunity to pick this weekends accumulator for the Paul Band Charity Bet. This week’s £5 bet has a potential return of almost £50.
