Ezekiel lived during the time of Jeremiah the Prophet. Although Jeremiah was not that much older than Ezekiel his influence on the younger Ezekiel was profound. This is Part is Part 5 of the Ezekiel Series, and Part 116 of the larger Jeremiah Series.

Ezekiel was a very young prophet who was sent into exile to Babylon in fulfilment of Jeremiah the Prophet prophetic word to Jerusalem.

Ezekiel the young prophet was deeply influenced by Jeremiah The Prophet. It was Jeremiah who had foretold that rebellious Jerusalem would be exiled to Babylon by King Nebuchadnezzar, and it was Ezekiel who witnessed the fulfilment of this firsthand.

Ezekiel grew up in Jerusalem hearing the slightly older prophet, Jeremiah, declaring the word of the Lord. He witnessed everything Jeremiah had foretold come to pass and now he was in Babylon similarly declaring the word of the Lord - very dramatically.

Ezekiel was a young man when Jeremiah the Prophet declared that Israel would be exiled to Babylon. Soon after the older Ezekiel was himself exiled to Babylon, God began to use him as a prophetic voice to the now exiled Israel. While Ezekiel became known as the Prophet In Exile, we could well describe him as The Disappointed Prophet.
