  • I AM The Gate And The Shepherd

    26/03/2023 Duración: 37min

Preacher: Jonathan Smith Reader: Graeme Miller In today's message we look at where Jesus says he is The Gate and The Shepherd. Self-serving shepherds (pastors, priests, leaders) have done great damage to the People of God from the Old Covenant to the present day. Jesus, The Good Shepherd, lays down his life for his sheep. The problem here is, if he has died for his sheep, what's to stop his sheep from then being devoured by the wolves, etc? The answer is Jesus not only chose to lay down his life, but he also had the authority to to take it up again, which he did - and thus he continues to save the sheep. Bread is a staple food for most people around the world - it's good, and we need it for survival, but we will continue to hunger for it. However, when Jesus states that He is the Bread Of Life, he's not referring to the baked product of "bread". Instead He's stating that He is the only one who can satisfy the deepest longings of our soul. Red Door is an Anglican Church in Melbourne, Australia. • I AM the I AM

    05/03/2023 Duración: 46min

Preacher: Jonathan Smith Reader: Marios Kyriakou Today we start a new series where we look at the "I Am" statements that Jesus makes about himself. In this first message, Pastor Jonathan asks of us the question that hopefully we have an answer to - "Who is Jesus?" Over the years there have been many people who have attempted to answer this question, but usually in the wrong context. To some he's a great teacher, to others a radical. But the answer we need to resolve for ourselves is that even though Jesus may be all these other things that people say who he is, we need to come to the conclusion that he is God incarnate. 19/02/2023 Duración: 41min

Preacher: Jonathan Smith Reader: Anne Miller In this the tenth year of covering the Psalms in the Summer break, today Pastor Jonathan is preaching from Psalm 67. Even though this is a short Psalm, there is a lot of depth here. We are called to praise God, and God blesses us. In turn, we then become a blessing to the entire world. A lot of the time, we do not fully recognise the blessings we have received and continue to receive from God, so we do not become the blessing to the world that we're meant to be.
