In this passage today, Matthew is presenting Jesus as the true Son of David, and the King of kings. He is worthy of our worship and service.

The amazing grace of God. Today we will explore 3 aspects of God's grace; it's saving power; it's sanctifying power and it's glorifying power.

Trials will always be a part of living in a fallen world. What we learn in these verses today is that in the most serious moments of life, the Christian has God's presence and peace, his Christian family and friends, and God's Word. This is our most meaningful support system.

In this text, Paul reflects on his past, his present and his future. We see from Paul's testimony that a Christian faith that is lived out in faithfulness results in great peace and confidence.

What we see today is that our commitment to, and preaching of, God's Word is to be the centerpiece is a faithful Christian ministry. There is a responsibility here for the man of God, but there is also a responsibility for the church.

These are dangerous times we live in. Are these difficult days for you? Are you going through a trial or a test of your faith?

What we will explore in our passage todayis a continuation of last weeks passage and what it looks like to cleanse our lives of the dishonorable items. What does it involve?

Is it your desire to be an approved workman for God? Paul will indicate to Timothy what is involved in standing approved. Today we will see that it involves your words, your theology, your influence, your priorities, and your confession and cleansing from sin.

What will be the legacy you leave to the generations to come?

What we will learn in today's passage is that while there is a price to pay for living for Christ, it is a price that is matched even more with the assurance of a Savior Who will be true to everything He has promised His children.

There are times in the Bible that admonishes His people to remember certain things. The resurrection of Jesus Christ fits into that category. What we will see today in this passage is that the resurrection is part of the very foundation of the Gospel message that is to be shared.

What we will see in this passage is that God measures Christian success not by the world's standards, but by standards that include our personal growth, our investment in others, our detachment from a love of the things of the world, our discipline, and our hard work.

In this passage, Paul admonishes Timothy to preserve, protect and propagate the Gospel message.

What we see in this passage today is that the Christian life is to be a life of sacrifice and service, built upon the confidence we have in the power of God.

We will see in these verses this morning that while it is great to have been blessed with a spiritual heritage in our families, there is the need for each of us to fan into flames what God has done in our lives and to personally take a bold stand for Christ.

Last week, we looked at one bookend of the Bible. We saw God's creation, and then we concentrated on what went wrong. Today I want us to see the other bookend. I want us to see what awaits the children of God.

Today, Satan is still about his very same business as he has from the beginning. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only answer for this world and it is the only answer for you. We are either "in Adam" or "in Christ."
