Michael Myers, Snake Plissken, and Nada were all brought to the big screen by horror legend, John Carpenter. Carpenter also gave us Kurt Russell as MacReady in a retelling of the sci-fi novella ‘Who Goes There?’ from 1938. John Carpenter’s The Thing is still considered by many to be a sci-fi and horror masterpiece. What the hell happened? That is what we'd like to know in regards to our 'The Evil Dead' episode. Everything was going just fine... until we hit record. Basically, our mic failed. Normally when we record via Skype, we stop and listen to the first few minutes to make sure everything is recording normally. We forgot that step this time. What resulted is an un-listenable episode. Rather than re-record the entire review, we decided to recap what happened as well as cover the newest trailers for Alien: Covenant, Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2, and the teaser for Deadpool 2. Greetings from Humungus! The Lord Humungus! Mad Max is back and this time he’s got friends; a dog who’s as smart as a man, a sky captain who’s as smart as a child, and a feral child who acts like a dog. This movie has elements of a lot of James Bond blended into a sort of, greatest hits with the return of Roger Moore as Britain’s top secret agent. Bond is sent to investigate and recover a secret British spy device before it can be claimed by the Russians. On the way he teams up with a dangerous woman with a desire for revenge. Superman is one of the greatest examples in all comicdom of how to be a hero. In this episode we take a look at Superman II and discuss how we feel it holds up. Superman II is a product of two directors and actors who didn’t want to reprise their roles in a movie that was already in production. This movie has a lot of great qualities, but we don’t know how great of a movie it is. Do you think this movie stands up to the standards established by the original movie, or the character? Flash! You know the rest. On this episode we took a look at the cult classic Flash Gordon from 1980. Neither of us had much previous experience with this movie and we both had different opinions at the end. Flash Gordon is a pretty straight-forward sci-fi tale of an Earthman sent into outer space where he encounters Ming the Merciless. He is tasked with overthrowing the maniacal ruler of Mingo City and preventing the destruction of Earth. This movie is like no other movie we’ve talked about on our list. We had a pretty good time talking about it, and we hope you enjoy the episode. Where does Flash Gordon rate for you? This is a big one, citizens. We're always nervous to tackle some of the classic films on our list. But as we've learned; "Do or do not, there is no try". Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back picks up three years after Luke destroyed the Death Star. Leia, Han, Chewie and C3PO are on the run from Darth Vader and his minions while Luke and R2 seek out an ancient Jedi master to complete his training. Empire is considered by some to be the best of the entire Saga.   This was a weird movie. Overall, we liked it, but we're not really sure why. A lot of it doesn't work, and it's a bit of a mess. But somehow Moonraker has a charm that left us satisfied. With the Star Wars craze in full swing, Bond had to make it into space as quickly as possible. Let us know what you thought of Moonraker.
