Sinopsis

And Lo! There came a day. A day like no other. When Earth's mightiest podcasters were unable to do it alone. Travis and Patrick joined forces and formed The Reel Comic Heroes Podcast. Our goal was simple; review movies from a genre we love. But then something happened. We discovered that not only did we want to talk about Superman, Batman, Spider-Man and the rest. We wanted to talk about our other heroes too. Mr. Spock, James Bond, and Indiana Jones. Harry Potter and Luke Skywalker, too. We started with 1951s 'Superman and the Mole Men' are and chronologically working through our ever-expanding list of movies. You can find our show on iTunes, Stitcher, and many other Podcast apps by searching 'Reel Comic Heroes'.

  • Reel Comic Heroes 024 - Alien

    26/04/2016 Duración: 01h28min

Alien is one of those weird movies that is essentially just a slasher/thriller, but because of how well-made it is, it is regarded often as a classic piece of cinema. And rightfully so. This is a movie about survival in the face of pure terror against a creature that, like Keith Richards, cannot be killed by conventional weapons. Now that we're in space, we're going to stay there for a while. Our next movie review will be covering Roger Moore's Moonraker.   eMail: reelcomicheroes@gmail.com Twitter: @reelComicHeroes Facebook.com/ReelComicHeroes Instagram @reelComicHeroes www.reelpodcastnetwork.com/reelcomicheroes   Our show is now available on Google Play Music. • Reel Comic Heroes 023 - Captain America (1979)

    20/04/2016 Duración: 01h39min

Steve Rogers is a hero in every sense of the word. He fights for the little guys, because he was the little guy. Steve Rogers grew up with an inherent sense of justice and bravery. He is as noble as he is strong. Regardless of being bombarded with vita rays enhancing him with strength and speed, he will never stop defending the values he holds so dear. He is truly the Sentinel of Liberty. This is not a movie about Steve Rogers. The man at the center of this movie may hold the title of Captain America, but little else. If you've seen the 1979 TV movie Captain America, or its follow-up Captain America II: Death Too Soon, please email us and let us know what you thought. We'd love to share your opinions on an upcoming episode. Reel Comic Heroes will return with Ridley Scott's Alien.     eMail: reelcomicheroes@gmail.com Twitter: @reelComicHeroes Facebook.com/ReelComicHeroes Instagram @reelComicHeroes www.reelpodcastnetwork.com/reelcomicheroes   Our show is now available on Google Play Music.   Use the hashtag #Po

  • Reel Comic Heroes - Trailer Talk 006 - Rogue One

    13/04/2016 Duración: 30min

We interrupt this podcast to bring you an unscheduled Trailer Talk. To our surprise, Lucasfilm decided to drop a little Rogue One action on us. With the movie coming out this December, we were starting to get a little concerned/confused with the lack of material being released for this 'Star Wars Story', set before the events of A New Hope. We will be return next week with our review of 1979s TV Movie version of Captain America. eMail: reelcomicheroes@gmail.com Twitter: @reelComicHeroes Facebook.com/ReelComicHeroes Instagram @reelComicHeroes www.reelpodcastnetwork.com/reelcomicheroes   Use the hashtag #PodernFamily on Twitter to find more great shows to listen to.

  • Reel Comic Heroes 021 - Superman: The Movie - Part 1

    30/03/2016 Duración: 01h22min

Part 1 Greetings, Citizens. This week Patrick and Travis return to the first hero on our list, Superman. This one is wildly different than the previous look at Clark Kent in his adventure with some curious mole people. In 1978 the world witnessed, what some would say, the birth of the comic book movie with Richard Donner's Superman: The Movie.  This episode features our review of Acts I & II of the film. Next episode will feature Act III and our wrap up. In the meantime, feel free to send us your thoughts and we'll include them in our next episode. • Reel Comic Heroes - Trailer Talk 005 - Ghostbusters

    23/03/2016 Duración: 56min

"Reel Comic Heroes, whaddya want!?" We're back to take a look at the first trailer released for the new remake/reboot for Ghostbusters. We recorded this just a few days after the first trailer was released. Since then, there has been a fan-edited version which has gotten a lot of praise online for making more sense. And the Ghostbusters production has also released an International trailer which has also been called better. It seems the consensus online has been lukewarm as to this first trailer. Mostly people are saying the movie itself doesn't look bad, but that they released a bad trailer. Give this a listen as Patrick, Travis and our guest, Amanda share our thoughts on the trailer for Paul Feig's new version of Ghostbusters.  We'll be back in a week to talk about the Man of Steel himself in 1978s Superman. eMail: reelcomicheroes@gmail.com Twitter: @reelComicHeroes Facebook.com/ReelComicHeroes Instagram @reelComicHeroes www.reelpodcastnetwork.com/reelcomicheroes

  • Reel Comic Heroes 020 - The Spy Who Loved Me

    16/03/2016 Duración: 02h13s

Greetings, Citizens and Bond fans. We're back with our review of Roger Moore in 1977s The Spy Who Loved Me. We went into this one a little skeptical, as some of the recent Bond films have been so-so. We came out of it thoroughly entertained and hopeful of Bond's future. With TSWLM, it feels as if Roger Moore has become comfortable in the role and has made it his own.  Find us online: Twitter: https://twitter.com/reelComicHeroes Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/reelComicHeroes/ Website: http://reelpodcastnetwork.libsyn.com/   We'll be back next week with a look at the first trailer for Ghostbusters.

  • Reel Comic Heroes 019 - A Conversation with Rory from Doghair Presents

    09/03/2016 Duración: 54min

Greetings, Citizens! A few weeks ago, in preparation for our two-part Star Wars: A New Hope episode, I had a conversation with our first guest, Rory Spence. The original plan would have been to release the Star Wars review as one episode, and possibly tack on this conversation at the end as a bonus. We had no idea we'd talk for 3 hours about A New Hope, so we decided it would be best to split the episode up (not unlike Luke and Leia).  This episode was just a conversation between Rory and myself as a way to test out the Skype connection. Rather than throw it away, we thought it would release it as an episode. We mostly talk about The Force Awakens as well as a bit of Deadpool. We also discussed some of the comics we're currently reading (or intending to read). Patrick and I will be visiting the world of James Bond next week with our review of The Spy Who Loved Me.  Find us online: Twitter: https://twitter.com/reelComicHeroes Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/reelComicHeroes/ Website: http://reelpodcastnetwo

  • Reel Comic Heroes 018 - Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope - Part 2 with Rory M. Spence

    02/03/2016 Duración: 01h21min

Welcome back Citizens! We're happy to present the conclusion of our Star Wars review with Rory M. Spence from Doghair Presents.     Find us online: Twitter: https://twitter.com/reelComicHeroes Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/reelComicHeroes/ Website: http://reelpodcastnetwork.libsyn.com/   Be sure to check out Rory's podcast Doghair Presents  You can also find Rory on Twitter - @DoghairNetwork

  • Reel Comic Heroes 017 - Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope - Part 1 with Rory M. Spence

    24/02/2016 Duración: 01h21min

On May 25th, 1977 Star Wars made its debut and blew the world away with its incredible set pieces, effects and dramatic adventure. Twenty years later, the creator of Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, George Lucas returned Luke, Leia and Han to the big screen with new special effects in order to get the movie closer to his original vision.  Join us as we take our first step into a larger world along with our first guest, Rory Spence from Hangover Reviews. We had a great time talking about this movie with Rory and actually decided to split it into two parts.    Find us online: Twitter: https://twitter.com/reelComicHeroes Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/reelComicHeroes/ Website: http://reelpodcastnetwork.libsyn.com/   Be sure to check out Rory's podcast Doghair Presents  You can also find Rory on Twitter - @DoghairNetwork

  • Reel Comic Heroes - Trailer Talk 004

    16/02/2016 Duración: 55min

The 2016 comic book movie lineup is underway with this weekend's release of Deadpool. The movie is doing very well for its opening weekend and has gotten a lot of praise. In this episode we're going to be chatting about some of the other upcoming films for 2016, and we'll talk about the newest and final Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer. Our next movie review will be covering Star Wars: A New Hope. If you have a favorite moment, quote, or Star Wars experience, we'd love to hear it. • Reel Comic Heroes 016 - The Man With The Golden Gun

    10/02/2016 Duración: 01h53min

James Bond has returned! The Man With the Golden Gun felt like an old familiar suit. It felt like Roger Moore has managed to incorporate elements of Connery's performance while making the character his own. This movie, while having a lot of light-hearted moments, still found the brutality of the Bond character. Christopher Lee as the villain Scaramanga, along with his sidekick, Nick Nack, are a welcome duo against 007. We look forward to seeing more from Roger Moore as James Bond. Find us online: Twitter: https://twitter.com/reelComicHeroes Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/reelComicHeroes/ Website: http://reelpodcastnetwork.libsyn.com/   Next time on Reel Comic Heroes: Star Wars.

  • Reel Comic Heroes - Trailer Talk 003

    03/02/2016 Duración: 53min

This week we're bringing you our thoughts on two fairly recent trailers. First up is the sequel to the updated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. To be honest, we didn't expect much after seeing the first movie, but this trailer has us looking forward to the sequel.  Next up is the trailer for Suicide Squad. Everything we've seen so far for this movie has been very promising. This trailer gives a slightly better look at the individual members of the team. • Reel Comic Heroes 015 - Live and Let Die

    26/01/2016 Duración: 02h02min

This one surprised us, citizens. We went into this movie with high hopes. After all, it was the start of a new Bond - Roger Moore. Live and Let Die seems to have been a product of a much different time. Live and Let Die brings James Bond back to the states, and eventually to an island in the Caribbean in his mission to investigate the deaths of three fellow agents. While investigating he crosses paths with Dr. Kananga who is more than he seems, and is aided by a beautiful fortune teller.     Join us next time for The Man With the Golden Gun as we go on our next mission with Roger Moore.

  • Reel Comic Heroes 014 - Battle for the Planet of the Apes

    21/01/2016 Duración: 01h34min

We've reached the end of the original Apes series. The franchise has gone crazy places since Taylor (Charlton Heston) first set foot on the shores of the Forbidden Zone. We've seen Cornelius and Zira (McDowell and Hunter) start as intellectuals and then become fugitives. We finally met Caesar - the ape who defied his masters and led a revolution. Now, in Battle for the Planet of the Apes, we see Caesar balance two societies; his Ape brethren, and the humans who serve them.  Find us online: Twitter: https://twitter.com/reelComicHeroes Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/reelComicHeroes/ Website: http://reelpodcastnetwork.libsyn.com/   Join us next time for Live and Let Die as we meet a new James Bond again for the first time.

  • Reel Comic Heroes 013 - Conquest of the Planet of the Apes

    13/01/2016 Duración: 01h40min

Welcome back, Citizens. We're back and ready to talk about one of our two loves on this show; Apes and James Bond. This week it's Apes.  Conquest of the Planet of the Apes is a straight-forward, dark tale of Caesar rising up from obedient servitude to revolutionary hero.  Find us online: Twitter: https://twitter.com/reelComicHeroes Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/reelComicHeroes/ Website: http://reelpodcastnetwork.libsyn.com/   Join us next time for our last Apes movie for quite a while, Battle For the Planet of the Apes

  • Reel Comic Heroes - Trailer Talk 002

    09/12/2015 Duración: 01h23min

Welcome back, Citizens. Patrick and Travis are back to weigh in on some upcoming films. First up is the Comic-Con trailer for Deadpool which looks really fun and different than any movie we've seen so far. Then we get into the first trailer for Captain America: Civil War (spoilers - we also discuss events leading up to Civil War in the comics). Lastly, we talk about a surprising new trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. • Reel Comic Heroes 012 - Diamonds Are Forever

    25/11/2015 Duración: 01h54min

Just like Sean Connery returning to the role of 007, Patrick and Travis have also returned to the world of James Bond. This episode is all about keeping track of where the diamonds have gotten to in 1971s Diamonds Are Forever.  This movie was rather bittersweet for us. On one hand we're looking forward to seeing where Roger Moore will go with Bond, and on the other hand, we wish Connery would have gone out with a little more impact. Find us online: Twitter: https://twitter.com/reelComicHeroes Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/reelComicHeroes/ Website: http://reelpodcastnetwork.libsyn.com/   Join us next time as we see what trouble the Apes have gotten themselves into with Conquest of the Planet of the Apes

  • Reel Comic Heroes 011 - Escape From the Planet of the Apes

    17/11/2015 Duración: 01h35min

Greetings Citizens. We had a lot of fun with this one. We finally got to see what it would be like for our simian heroes to be stuck in 1973s America. The tables are turned in Escape From the Planet of the Apes when Zira and Cornelius along with genius ape, Dr. Milo arrive on planet Earth of the past. They quickly learn what Taylor went through when he crash landed in their own time. 'Escape From' is a return to form for a franchise that, we found, was lacking in the previous installment. Let us know what you thought of the movie.   Find us online: Twitter: https://twitter.com/reelComicHeroes Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/reelComicHeroes/ Website: http://reelpodcastnetwork.libsyn.com/ Join us next time for our triumphant return to the world of 007 in Diamonds Are Forever

  • Reel Comic Heroes 010 - Beneath the Planet of the Apes

    10/11/2015 Duración: 02h08min

Why hide it? We did not enjoy Beneath the Planet of the Apes. But we did have fun talking about it. Check out our review of the movie and find out what we did like about the movie, as well as what we could have done without.  Beneath the Planet of the Apes follows the journey of another astronaut, Brent, on a rescue mission to find Taylor. While Brent searches for Taylor, with help from Nova, Cornelius and Zira, the Ape army marches to take back the Forbidden Zone from a threat which lives in the underground ruins of old New York City.   Find us online: Twitter: https://twitter.com/reelComicHeroes Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/reelComicHeroes/ Website: http://reelpodcastnetwork.libsyn.com/   Next time on Reel Comic Heroes: Escape From the Planet of the Apes
