The most valuable commodity we have is time. The question that we have been asking throughout this series is “how will we use it?” Come join us as we consider what it will look like to walk worthy of our preeminent King now and forever.

The letter to the Colossians was not the only letter Paul sent to Colossae. Along with it came another letter addressed to one of the house church leaders, Philemon. The letter gave Philemon a practical picture of how the image of Christ should change the way he lived. This week we will read through Paul’s personal letter to Philemon to consider what changes when we set our mind on things above.

The letter to the Colossians presents the full majesty of Jesus as the king who reigns above all, is before all, and through whom all is done. With that image of Christ comes a grand picture that should set our minds thinking of things above. As we keep considering these things that are above, Colossians 3:17-4:1 gives a practical picture of how this should begin to play out in our homes, families, and jobs.

The Gospel message declares that sin has been forgiven, death has been defeated, Jesus reigns and we can join the kingdom of God. In responding to the Gospel we are recognizing that Jesus is king and living as citizens of his kingdom. Colossians 3:1-17 gives us a picture of what it looks like to shed our old citizenship and put on that which shows we are members of the kingdom of God.

The greatest challenges to our faith are often far more unassuming than we might realize. They can seem reasonable on the surface, especially if we are not grounded on the Gospel. This week we will look at Colossians 2 and the plausible arguments that we must overcome to stand strong in our faith.

The apostle Paul’s ministry for the Gospel took him in directions that initially shocked many. Paul’s response was to demonstrate how the work of Jesus was not for a few people, but all of humanity who would call on Jesus. In Colossians 1:21-2:5 Paul speaks of his ministry and desire for others to experience the Gospel, providing us with an example for carrying on the same mission today.

Jesus reigns. The purpose of the Gospel is that we would participate in his kingdom and declare his reign to the world. This week we will open up to Colossians 1:15-20 to look at a poetic picture of Jesus as the king who is above all and before all.

This week we are beginning a new series looking at the letters Paul sent to Colossae. Join us as we look at Paul’s prayer for the Colossian church and begin talking through what it would look for us to follow Christ in the same way.

Acts 2 gives us the model for church and shows us how we are better together!

On Sunday, September 11th, in addition to the full reopening of our children’s ministry, we are kicking off a new series entitled “Why?”. Each week for 3 weeks leading up to our fall small group sermon alignment series, we will be answering common questions people have about church and ministry.

Romans 4 The conclusion of faith

The Christian life is one of total dedication to our good and loving God, but what are we to do when God calls us to make a costly sacrifice? In Genesis 22 we’ll discover that there is nothing that we could ever give up to God that He doesn’t have some better already prepared.

God has pledged Himself in love to His people and set us apart as distinct and different from the world around us, but that distinction isn’t always as visible as it should be. Join us as we learn to put on display the faith that is ours through Christ.

Waiting is hard! Sometimes, instead of waiting we try to take matters into our own hands with disastrous consequences, yet God’s grace can meet us even there.
