Why do we we have fear of not being provided for? Even when we have enough the process of looking into the future and wondering if we will make it is daunting, scary, and unnecessary. God says He will provide and He means what He says. So, don't take yourself so seriously, stop to "look at your hands," taking time to stop and see God's intricate design, and make the decision to just GO ALL IN.

Venturing deeper into "Your Spiritual Depth" brings us to a place where we must choose to grow into an emotionally mature adult. But what does that look like? Am I not already a mature adult? This maturity lies in Gods love penetrating us and then reflecting out towards Him and others. The goal of the Christian life is to LOVE WELL. True spirituality includes not only loveing God but also the SKILL of loving others MATURELY.

Our culture knows little of rhythms.  We are chronically  hurried. Everyone complains of busyness and being stressed out and we have no idea how to change.               The question: how to live life oriented around God; calm, content, confident and peaceful? How do we enjoy the life to the full? Clue, it's in the 4th command...

Grief, loss and pain. It is no secret that Jesus said we would endure hardship in this life. So, hardship will come. And for most of us has already cut deep into our lives. But what if our grief and pain can have a reason, a purpose? If we allow Him, God will help us wrestle through it, and then cause it to strengthen, benefit, and better us. Don't let your suffering have no purpose. Let Him grow you out of the dark.

Do you ever feel like you are up against a wall? We all inevitably experience walls throughout our life and in our spirituality. Where many turn away or give up we need to JOURNEY THROUGH THE WALL in order to change and find ourselves back in God's joy and presence.

The cycle is now putting off the sinful patterns of my biological family and culture and being transformed so that I might be my authentic self in Christ and be a blessing to the world. God put you here for a reason, but you HAVE TO GO BACK TO GO FORWARD

I have always had the opinion that those who want to “find themselves” are selfish and narcissistic,  and I think that is a true statement for most people who go on such self discovery expeditions.  BUT…. If you don’t know yourself, how can you give yourself to God? And how can anyone be in a healthy relationship with you? So there is a fine line between introspection (bad) and self awareness (good). David was not only self aware, he knew where God was and what he was called to do. David was confident yet not cocky..

What lies beneath your Surface? We are all on a journey of spiritual growth. We can choose to not grow, get to a certain point and level off, or address what is spiritually and emotionally unhealthing below our surface to begin transofrming into the unique person God has specifically made every one of us to be.

Small things done with great love will change the world. Steve Sjogren pioneered the modern serving/outward-focused church movement more than 30 years ago when he planted a church in Cincinnati. The church grew from 5 people to over 6000, primarily through a strong emphasis on caring for the needy, small groups, and showing God’s love in practical ways such as cleaning toilets for local businesses, giving away bottles of water at busy stoplights, and delivering hot dogs and hamburgers door-to-door. Steve has observed in more than 30 years as a church planter and coach: that a church’s greatness has less to do with thousands in weekly attendance, the size of the sanctuary or the number of books the pastor has published.  Instead, greatness is an ongoing process that is moved by the presence of God among His people.

Focusing on the gifts of life rather than what we lack is not only a happier way to see the world, it's Biblical.  This week, we focus on this gift of salvation as we note that the summer season is coming to a close.

TRUTH: About Who You Really Are. You glorify God by being yourself, your true self! Begin the journey to find your true self, to be lead by the Spirit of Truth and to be set free into a new life. (FYI, can't get this done in one Sunday sermon, but it's a start!) John 3 & Psalms 19

You probably feel as if you are living in the margins of the paper of your life.  How could you possibly be able to offer care for anyone else? Jesus offers care for those who care for the poor.  This doesn't mean that Jesus only cares for the wealthy or those who can otherwise afford to care for the poor.  It means so much more.

Friends are a source of inspiration, support and humor. More than that, friendship is a fountain of hope.

Friendship with sinners.  One week is not enough time to even begin to cover this topic. In this follow-up, Pastor Josh examines more of the external and internal challenges that accompany living a Godly life in your relationships.

Examples abound in the Bible of friendship with sinners.  Though it is a modeled behavior, it can provide challenges -- even centuries later.

Get in the friendship zone. Spiritual friendship is another level of friendship to examine as we continue to explore friendship in all of its glory.
