Scripture:  Philippians 2: 12-16 Speaker:  Scott Seela, Childrens Minister Summary:  This is our "Back to School" message encouraging teachers, parents, and children as they look forward to the coming school year.  Paul, the Apostle, encourages the believers in his letter to the Philippians to show a different way of life so that God may be glorified as they "shine like stars."  That is Scott's challenge to parents, teachers, and children as they live a life that reflects the one in whom they believe.

Scripture:  John 21 Speaker:  Brandon Reynolds, Preaching Intern Summary:  Failure.  We've all experienced it, we will surely all experience it again.  Brandon's question in this message is,  "What do I do when I fail God?"  Using Peter the apostle, Brandon brings a message of hope, perseverance, and grace for us in those times when we fail.

Scripture:  Acts 9:1-19 Speaker:  Scott Meyer Summary:  In this message, Scott brings the story of Paul, the apostle. Paul's story is a dramatic one of conversion which resulted in a complete turnaround from his understanding of what it means to serve and honor God.  His decision to follow Jesus was not an easy path, but it was a life of devotion with no regrets.  Should anyone choose the path to follow Jesus, it will not necessarily be easy.  However, it is a life lived with no regrets.  

Scripture:  Jonah 1:1-17 Speaker:  Scott Meyer, Lead Minister Summary:  This is the ninth in the series, "Called."  In this message, Scott, brings the account of Jonah to life with a different approach than you may have heard in your experience.  This message demonstrates the love, patience and persistence of God's call on Jonah's life and applies that to the call God has for you.

Scripture:  Judges 6:11-16 Speaker:  Dylan Hollland Summary:  Using Gideon and his reply to God's call, Dylan's message calls us to listen to and act on God's call even though we may be fearful or hesitant.  We too can depend on God's walking with us just as he promised Gideon when he said, "I will be with you."

Scripture:  Galatians 2:20 Speaker:  Scott Meyer Summary:  What does it mean to be crucified with Christ?  How does that relate to baptism and Communion?  This is Scott's focus in this message.

Scripture:  1 Corinthians 11:23-26 Speaker:  Brandon Reynolds Summary:  As a preface to the congregation participating in the taking of the bread and cup, Preaching Intern, Brandon Reynolds, answers the question, "Why, Communion?

Scripture:  Genesis 6:1 - 9:17 Speaker:  Brandon Reynolds Summary: What will you do when God calls you to do something that seems foolish in the eyes of the world? In this message, Brandon walks through the story of Noah to challenge us to answer this question. Two phones are ringing, one from the world and one from God, whose call will you answer?  

Scripture:  Esther 4:11-14; Ephesians 2:10 Speaker:  Brandon Reynolds, Preaching Intern Summary:  When God calls are you ready to answer yes?  Or is your answer more likely the question: "Why me?"  Brandon wrestles with the call and the question in the context of the story of Esther, a young Jewish woman, who becomes the Queen of Persia for God's purpose.  What is her response to the call she receives?

Scripture: Matthew 1:18-25 Speaker:  Scott Meyer, Lead Minister Summary:  The Called series continues as Scott presents the call to Joseph to be the earthly father of Jesus.  It was a difficult time that was totally unexpected when Joseph is called to accept the responsibility of being father to the Son of God.  Scott brings a message that speaks to all Dads as he explores the call to Joseph.

Scripture:  Chapters 3 & 4 of Exodus Speaker:   Scott Meyer Summary:  What will you do when God calls?  In Exodus the story of Moses unfolds.  When God calls him, he offers several excuses explaining why he cannot answer God's call.  Scott looks at Moses' response as he attempts to "block" God's call.  Scott then challenges us to seek and answer God's call.

Scripture:  2 Samuel 12:1-7; 13; 20 Speaker:  Brandon Reynolds, Preaching Intern Summary:  What happens when you get a "wake-up call?"  Suddenly you have a decision to make:  will you answer or ignore it?  Brandon Reynolds, Summer Preaching Intern, brings this challenging question into focus through the story of King David as he faces his wake-up calls.

Scripture: Acts 7:2-3;Hebrews 11:8Genesis 11:31-12:4 Speaker:  Scott Meyer, Lead Minister Summary:  In this second message in the Called series, the character who receives the call of God is Abraham (name is Abram when the call comes).  What lessons can we learn regarding our own call of God from Abrahams response?  That is the question, Scott, examines in this message.

Scripture:  Matthew 9:9-13 Speaker:  Scott Meyer Summary:  When Jesus calls Matthew to follow him, Matthew does not hesitate.  He immediately follows.  The question then comes to all of us:  What will you do when Jesus calls you?

Scripture:  John 1:14, Revelation 21:1-24, 1 Peter 2:11, 2 Corinthians 1:22, Ephesians 1:14 Speaker: Justin Hammond Summary:  On this Sunday the Graduating Seniors were honored by Western Hills.  Justin Hammond, Youth Minister, blessed the Seniors as well as the entire church with an encouraging message reminding us that this world is not our home.  

Scripture:  Proverbs 27 Speaker:  Scott Seela, Children's Minister Summary:  Scott Seela, Children's Minister, presents the case for wisdom.  While it's true we would like to be wise making our decisions based on wisdom, how do we get there?  What is it exactly that will take us to and keep us on the path to wisdom?

Scripture:  1 Corinthians 16 Speaker:  Scott Meyer Summary:  In this final installment in the series, A Beginner's Guide to Church," Scott brings a message from Paul's letter to the church in Corinth.  This church faced the same challenges that the church today faces.  Uncertainty, opposition, power struggles, and disagreements were present in the church then and now.  How we deal with these challenges is the very thing Paul addresses in Chapter 16.

Scripture:  1 Corinthians 14 Speaker:  Scott Meyer Summary:  In this passage, Paul, the apostle, is addressing some errors that are occurring during the worship gathering of the church in Corinth.  Scott examines these errors in their cultural and biblical context to discover what this text has to say to the church today.

Scripture:  1 Corinthians 15 Speaker:  Scott Meyer Summary:  "The thing of most importance" is clearly stated by Paul in this chapter of 1 Corinthians.  Scott continues this series with this Easter message of the definition of gospel.

Scripture:  I Corinthians 13 Speaker:  Scott Meyer Summary:  In this very familiar text, Scott brings new insights into what it actually means to love in the way we are called to love.  What is love?  What is love not?
