Scripture:  Colossians 2:11-23 Speaker:  Scott Meyer Summary:  Knowing there's a victory to come changes your life.  That's the theme of this message from Scott based on Colossians 2:11-23.  If you want to be a devoted follower of Christ, please understand that the victory has been decided already.  And because that is true, live like it!

Scripture:  Colossians 1:21-29 Speaker:  Scott Meyer Summary:  There are so many voices shouting from everywhere in our culture for your attention, focus and devotion.  Most of them are self-serving and have very little concern for you, your present, or your future.  But there is a true voice that is calling to you for the sole purpose of giving you life that is abundant and full of hope.  That voice is the voice of God.  Through His one and only son, God is seeking you to give a gift you cannot be promised by any other voice.  But what voice is forming you?  Have you made your choice?  Listen to Scott's message and hear God's voice in Scripture calling you to choose the life God so desperately wants for you.

Scripture:  Colossians 1:15-20 (ESV) Speaker:  Scott Meyer Summary:  In these five verses, Scott brings the words of Paul the Apostle to a small church in a small town about who is in charge of your life as a follower of Jesus.  He describes the one who has the ability and the authority to be king of your life.  Spoiler alert - there is only one who has those qualities.

Scripture:  Colossians 1:1-14 Speaker:  Scott Meyer Summary:  This is the second in the series, "Rooted." This series explores what the apostle, Paul, had to say to the church in his letter to the Colossians.  Paul's question to those to whom he wrote then is the same question we must answer:  "What's forming you?"  Something is, but is it what God intended for you?  Is it the good news that Jesus came for the sole purpose of transforming your whole life into a life of joy in loving and being loved.  This good news is for you whoever, wherever are or have been.  Let Him transform you!

Scripture:  Colossians 2:6-7 Speaker:  Scott Meyer Summary:  Scott begins a new series called "Rooted."  This message is the first one in the series that explores the timeless letter in the New Testament called Colossians.  In this letter, the Apostle Paul challenges the Christians in the city of Colossae to grow in faith and put down deep roots in their belief in the one who saved them, Jesus Christ.  Scott challenges us in the same way with a message meant for all believers throughout all time.

Scripture:  Luke 15 Speaker:  Scott Meyer Summary:  Some months ago the Elders challenged this church with a five-point Vision for the next five years.  In this message, Scott takes the lessons taught in Luke 15 to reinforce our mission as followers of Christ in this community, in this church and in the world.

Scripture:  Ephesians 5:13-14 Speaker:  Justin Hammond & Western Hills Youth Students Summary:  Justin and four members of Western Hills Youth review four of the mission-focused trips they took together that resulted in growth for them in their personal spiritual growth through ministry.

Scripture:  Philippians 2: 12-16 Speaker:  Scott Seela, Childrens Minister Summary:  This is our "Back to School" message encouraging teachers, parents, and children as they look forward to the coming school year.  Paul, the Apostle, encourages the believers in his letter to the Philippians to show a different way of life so that God may be glorified as they "shine like stars."  That is Scott's challenge to parents, teachers, and children as they live a life that reflects the one in whom they believe.

Scripture:  John 21 Speaker:  Brandon Reynolds, Preaching Intern Summary:  Failure.  We've all experienced it, we will surely all experience it again.  Brandon's question in this message is,  "What do I do when I fail God?"  Using Peter the apostle, Brandon brings a message of hope, perseverance, and grace for us in those times when we fail.

Scripture:  Acts 9:1-19 Speaker:  Scott Meyer Summary:  In this message, Scott brings the story of Paul, the apostle. Paul's story is a dramatic one of conversion which resulted in a complete turnaround from his understanding of what it means to serve and honor God.  His decision to follow Jesus was not an easy path, but it was a life of devotion with no regrets.  Should anyone choose the path to follow Jesus, it will not necessarily be easy.  However, it is a life lived with no regrets.  

Scripture:  Jonah 1:1-17 Speaker:  Scott Meyer, Lead Minister Summary:  This is the ninth in the series, "Called."  In this message, Scott, brings the account of Jonah to life with a different approach than you may have heard in your experience.  This message demonstrates the love, patience and persistence of God's call on Jonah's life and applies that to the call God has for you.

Scripture:  Judges 6:11-16 Speaker:  Dylan Hollland Summary:  Using Gideon and his reply to God's call, Dylan's message calls us to listen to and act on God's call even though we may be fearful or hesitant.  We too can depend on God's walking with us just as he promised Gideon when he said, "I will be with you."

Scripture:  Galatians 2:20 Speaker:  Scott Meyer Summary:  What does it mean to be crucified with Christ?  How does that relate to baptism and Communion?  This is Scott's focus in this message.

Scripture:  1 Corinthians 11:23-26 Speaker:  Brandon Reynolds Summary:  As a preface to the congregation participating in the taking of the bread and cup, Preaching Intern, Brandon Reynolds, answers the question, "Why, Communion?

Scripture:  Genesis 6:1 - 9:17 Speaker:  Brandon Reynolds Summary: What will you do when God calls you to do something that seems foolish in the eyes of the world? In this message, Brandon walks through the story of Noah to challenge us to answer this question. Two phones are ringing, one from the world and one from God, whose call will you answer?  

Scripture:  Esther 4:11-14; Ephesians 2:10 Speaker:  Brandon Reynolds, Preaching Intern Summary:  When God calls are you ready to answer yes?  Or is your answer more likely the question: "Why me?"  Brandon wrestles with the call and the question in the context of the story of Esther, a young Jewish woman, who becomes the Queen of Persia for God's purpose.  What is her response to the call she receives?

Scripture: Matthew 1:18-25 Speaker:  Scott Meyer, Lead Minister Summary:  The Called series continues as Scott presents the call to Joseph to be the earthly father of Jesus.  It was a difficult time that was totally unexpected when Joseph is called to accept the responsibility of being father to the Son of God.  Scott brings a message that speaks to all Dads as he explores the call to Joseph.

Scripture:  Chapters 3 & 4 of Exodus Speaker:   Scott Meyer Summary:  What will you do when God calls?  In Exodus the story of Moses unfolds.  When God calls him, he offers several excuses explaining why he cannot answer God's call.  Scott looks at Moses' response as he attempts to "block" God's call.  Scott then challenges us to seek and answer God's call.

Scripture: Acts 7:2-3;Hebrews 11:8Genesis 11:31-12:4 Speaker:  Scott Meyer, Lead Minister Summary:  In this second message in the Called series, the character who receives the call of God is Abraham (name is Abram when the call comes).  What lessons can we learn regarding our own call of God from Abrahams response?  That is the question, Scott, examines in this message.
