He serves as the Surgeon General’s spokesperson on oral health and interacts with chief dental officers from other countries, with military chief dental officers, with leaders in organized dentistry, with state oral health programs, and much more. He is currently overseeing the development of the second-ever Surgeon General’s Report on Oral Health. Rear Adm. Ricks has served in the U.S. Public Health Service for over 21 years. Nathan Kupperman is a 32 year-old, Florida native, who enjoys surfing and traveling the world. He graduated from Florida State University in 2011 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree and earned his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry in 2015. He then worked as a frontline clinician in nearly a dozen offices after he graduated dental school prior to his current practice ownership. Kurt Hoffman is an orthodontist who has been practicing in the Kansas City Metro area for the past 26 years. Kurt was lucky enough to practice with his father, Bill for ten years until his retirement. Kurt has been an Associate Clinical Professor of Orthodontics at UMKC Dental School from 2010 thru 2020. Kurt is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and Chief Medical Officer of AlignFlow. Dr. Sharona Dayan comes from a family chock full of dentists. As a child growing up in Tehran she often went to her father’s practice after school and saw that his patients were like family. Dr. Daniel J. Klemmedson, an oral and maxillofacial surgeon in Tucson, Arizona, is the president of the American Dental Association. From 2015 to 2019, Dr. Klemmedson served as the Fourteenth District trustee to the ADA Board of Trustees and served in the ADA House of Delegates from 2004 to 2014. He is a past president of the Arizona Dental Association, the Southern Arizona Dental Society, the Western Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the Arizona Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
