Dr. Huot was a private practice owner from 1985 to 2008, and still practices clinical dentistry on a per diem basis, working as a clinician/consultant for private and public health concerns. He retired from the USAF Reserve Dental Corps in 2012 after 30 years of military duty. Dr. Huot is a past President of the Maine Dental Association in 1994, and the 2006 President of the Atlantic Coast District Dental Association in Florida. He served on the Florida Dental Association Board of Trustees, and two years as Vice President of the American Dental Association. He currently serves on the ADA Council of Members Insurance and Retirement Plans, and the AGD Legislative and Government Affairs Council. Carrie started her dental career in Orange County California at the age of 17. She was hired as a dental assistant for a new doctor straight out of dental school and fell in love with the dental field. In 1998 she graduated from Sinclair College's EFDA course in Dayton Ohio, completing her state boards later that year. After settling in Arizona, her dental focus shifted to education. She worked for over 12 years with Maricopa Community College District dental programs, and in 2017 accepted the newly formed position “Coordinator for Expanded Function Dental Auxiliaries." Carrie was the first Certified EFDA in the State of Arizona. She helped lead the first graduating class of EFDA students and under her guidance, Phoenix College accounts for the most Certified EFDAs in the State of Arizona. Dr. Sherman A. House is currently in his second decade as a healthcare provider, and is a Hospital Dentist and Assistant Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Meharry Medical College in Nashville TN. Prior to his career in dentistry, Dr. House was a Fireman and Emergency Medical Technician in Washington State. Concurrently, he was an armed guard for several West Coast Armored Truck companies. He holds undergraduate degrees in Law Enforcement from Skagit Valley College, and also Biology and Philosophy from Gonzaga University. Dr. Jim Bates, born and raised in Lubbock, Texas, attended Texas Tech University before graduating with honors both from the University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston and Texas Tech University School of Medicine. He completed his residency training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. In 1995, Dr. Bates founded Texas Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, which is currently celebrating 15 continuous years of Joint Commission accreditation as an Office-Based Surgery facility.
