Atlanta United 1-1 Portland Timbers: Episdoe 29
25/06/2018 Duración: 20minAtlanta United surrendered a first-half set-piece goal but a Julian Gressel equalizer earned the Five Stripes a point against the Portland Timbers on Sunday evening in a 1-1 home draw. Atlanta controlled the ball from the outset. The Five Stripes were able to find a few chances, the best being a header from Franco Escobar feet outside the six-yard-box saved by keeper Jeff Attinella. As Atlanta pushed forward, the Timbers began to find space on the break. It eventually payed off after a yellow-card-earning foul from Escobar set up a Portland free kick. Samuel Armenteros met the initial ball. Larrys Mabiala finished the chance. Atlanta out-possessed Portland 72-28 and outshot the Timbers 9-6. The half ended with Portland up 1-0. The Five Stripes continued to bang their heads against a brick wall at the beginning of the second half. Atlanta squandered multiple opportunities, including an open shot on goal that Josef skied. Fortunately, Gressel broke through the wall in the 56th minute. While the goal may have

Crew SC 0-2 Atlanta United: Episdoe 27
14/06/2018 Duración: 22minAtlanta United traveled to Columbus to face the league’s best defensive team AND RAN THEM OUT THE DANG BUILDING. Well. Kind of. Goals from Josef Martinez and Tito Villalba pushed the Five Stripes to a hard-nosed 2-0 road win against the third-place team in the Eastern Conference. It took 30 minutes for either team to put a shot on target. Fortunately, Josef made it count. Columbus created more opportunities throughout the half but could only place one shot on frame. Atlanta entered the locker room up one. The second half continued in the same way. Things were happening but things weren’t actually happening. After a plethora of almost chances and kinda opportunities, the Five Stripes and newly inserted Villalba buried the game. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Episdoe 25: NYCFC 1-1 Atlanta United
11/06/2018 Duración: 40minA Josef Martinez goal and an immense performance from Brad Guzan allowed Atlanta United to escape from New York with a point in a 1-1 draw against NYCFC. The first half happened. Brad Guzan had the only highlight. Things changed in an instant in the second half. Four minutes in, Julian “Cross at Every Available Opportunity” Gressel played his best cross of the day HIS ENTIRE LIFE. The ball curled onto the head of Josef Martinez who did what you would expect of the most prolific scorer in MLS history. The goal is Martinez’s 13th of the year. He now leads the golden boot race by four goals as of full time. Meanwhile, NYCFC kept kicking the ball directly at Guzan and/or at the posts. After missing out on multiple excellent opportunities, NYCFC deservedly broke through in the 77th minute. All things considered it’s an excellent road result for Atlanta who stays atop the Eastern Conference and Supporters’ Shield standings. The Five Stripes were outshot 25-to-6 and put two shots on target compared to 10 for NYC

Episdoe 22: Atlanta United 3-1 Philadelphia Union
04/06/2018 Duración: 32minAn historic Josef Martinez hat trick and two early Philadelphia Union red cards powered Atlanta United to their first home win in three games as the Five Stripes stayed atop the Supporters’ Shield standings with a 3-1 win Saturday night in Atlanta. The beginning of the game looked like we were preparing to settle in for just another nice, normal soccer match in good old Atlanta, Georgia before THE ENTIRE GOT DANG THING EXPLODED. 19-year-old center back Auston Trusty took down Martinez in the box and the Five Stripes were awarded a penalty, a moment that in most cases would merely change the game. Instead, it unraveled it entirely. Captain (!) Alejandro Bedoya and Haris Medunjanin both picked up two yellow cards for...whatever the heck happened there. “I was scared s***less,” Martinez said after the game. Despite being frightened to the point of voiding his bowels, Josef stepped up to make it 1-0 lead over a nine-man team. Atlanta immediately switched from a 3-5-2 to a 4-3-3, but despite the attacking mind
