  • Advent 2018 - Day 1 - Stir Fry by Migos

    01/12/2018 Duración: 16min

24 days. 24 episodes. It's advent, but better than ever. Every day will be filled with Tracks-y goodness. Festive chat and seasonal fun and highlights from the mammoth 12 months which history will remember fondly as "2018". Today we're discussing those little chocolates you have in the morning and one of January's hottest records. Thanks for tuning in. We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode, although the intro and bed music was made with Harry's very own little hands. Nice one, Harry.

  • #122 - A Tracks Tale

    28/11/2018 Duración: 38min

We've been on quite the journey over the last few years. From drunken beginnings and stumbled introductions to 100+ episodes and dreams fulfilled. We'll never stop patting ourselves on the back. We'll always be looking at the path we've forged with a glint in our eye. This week, we're celebrating everything that is, was and always will be Tracks. Hold back the tears, lads. This one means a lot. Tim & Harry x We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. • #121 - Bargain Hunters

    21/11/2018 Duración: 01h47min

Remember when you were young? When you had to go to the shops to get music? You'd save up your pocket money and wait for the weekend and for your dad to finally get up off the sofa. You'd jump in the car down to *insert name of now-defunct chain store here*, barely being able to contain your excitement. You'd dreaming of the sweet, sweet sounds you heard on the radio a month ago and hadn't been able to get out of your head since and, eventually, you'd be there. CD in your hand. Ready to do the deal. Ready for a month of air guitaring around your box bedroom, stubbing your toes as go. Glorious days. Simpler times. You can't go back. But, thanks to this week's episode, you'll feel like have done. We're off shopping for some music, and you're invited. See you there. Tim & Harry x We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. • #120 - Moanin' And Groanin'

    14/11/2018 Duración: 01h29min

2018 has, in many ways, been a wonderful year. And, in others, it has been absolutely terrible. Awful. Tangibly shit. This week, ever the optimists, we've decided to focus on exactly what made it so bad. The broken promises. The gigs missed. The albums that never landed. The bands we wish blew up but didn't. And the hangovers. Oh god. The hangovers. It's all in here. It's all re-lived and, against all odds, it's not actually depressing to listen to. We filled the episode with great tunes and great laughs in a last-ditch attempt to lighten the mood and, astonishingly, it worked. We like this one and we hope you do too. • #119 - Mid00's

    07/11/2018 Duración: 01h44min

Aubrey Drake Graham. Drake. Singer. Rapper. Entrepreneur. Grammy winner. Millionaire. Famous man. And now, most prestigious of all, podcast inspiration. Last week the fella some call Champagne Papi threw a 32nd birthday party in LA and, with the intention of making everyone feel excruciatingly old, decided to dive right into the history books for a theme. He wanted retro. He wanted classic. He went for the 00's and, in the process, proved once and for all that our youths were a long, long time ago. Luckily for us, however, we have a podcast. And if your own podcast isn't the place to relive your younger years then what the hell is the point in anything? We're playing songs that had us dancing when we were but little teens this week, and we're delighted that you've decided to join us on a trip down memory lane. Keep it real. • #118 - A Solo Star Is Born

    31/10/2018 Duración: 52min

Listen to the last 2 minutes of this podcast backwards at 120x speed and you will hear a simple but very important message. H-A-R-R-Y---L-O-V-E-S---H-O-R-S-E-S. It's there because it's information you, our lovely listeners, simply must have, and because it explains a mysterious absence from this week's episode. Yes, this week Tim is flying solo. Without his right-hand man he's running free, playing exactly what he wants, when he wants and attempting to stitch it all together in his own unique style. Will it be better? Will it be worse? Only time will tell, but as it's the first time in the history of the show that this has ever happened, it'll certainly be one for the collectors' books. A biggest of big thank you's to everyone that has listened this week of all weeks. We promise we'll be back to normal next time out. Until then, Tim (and not Harry) x We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. Our theme tune is Ice Cold by Audionautix and is licensed under a Creative Commons Attri

  • #117 - Pet(ition) Sounds

    24/10/2018 Duración: 01h16min

Democracy, eh? It's good, isn't it? In theory it is, anyway. It gave us peace and the NHS and the welfare state and hope. It also gave us Trump and Brexit and a load of gobshites with guns but, for the sake of this little description, we'll forget about all of that for now. Democracy is good, and it works. It works so well, in fact, that this year an online petition got Weezer to cover 'Africa' by Toto. If that's not the kind of mass movement and direct action the world needs then quite frankly what is? It inspired us, and this week we're adding some more causes to the agenda now that the big Weezer/Toto task is well and truly ticked off. Expect a solution to all of your problems and an hour or so of pure entertainment. Thanks thanks thanks thanks thanks thanks for listening. You're the best. In an ideal world, you'd get 2 votes to everyone else's 1, even if that would break the democracy we've just been praising. Anyway. Until next week, Tim & Harry x We do not claim ownership of any of the music play

  • #116 - Never Mind The Buzzer

    18/10/2018 Duración: 01h36min

Here at Tracks, we like to run free. We make our own rules. We go long. We chat. We play with format and we play great songs. This week, however, for the first time ever, that's all going to change (apart from the great songs bit. That's staying). In a self-administered experiment, we're applying a radio-style 5-minute chat, song, 5-minute chat, song format. We're going to be strict with it, and we're going to prove that we can abide by the rules. Where all of this will take us only the big man upstairs knows, but it promises to be one hell of a ride. Thanks for joining us for it. Until next week, Tim & Harry x We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. • #115 - Golden Ticket

    10/10/2018 Duración: 01h26min

As regular listeners to Tracks will know, we're rather fond of a little place down in Somerset, England. It's nothing too fancy. Just a bit of land in the heart of the English countryside. A cow farm, really. But every now and then a miracle occurs and the entire world descends on it and memories that will last a lifetime are made. The name the locals like to give to this magical, mysterious event? It's Glastonbury Festival, of course, and Mystic forecasters predict it will happen again next year. Today we received confirmation that we'll be joining the party, and we're understandable buzzing. Join us as we fantasise about what's to come and reminisce about what already has. Nice one. • #114 - Over / Under

    03/10/2018 Duración: 01h34min

Candles. Gin. Siblings. Avocados. These things are everywhere. You just can't avoid them. But how often have you stopped, had a little sit-down, and considered just how good (or bad) they actually are? Not very often, we reckon. So this week, to save you the bother, we're doing exactly that. For well over an hour we ponder whether some of modern life's most common phenomenon are, in our humble opinions, overrated or underrated, and deliver our arguments in a manner £10,000 per hour lawyers could only dream of. There's some music in there along the way too, just for good measure. BIG thanks for tuning in this week. You yourself are truly underrated by everyone except us, who see you as a near god-level human being. • #113 - A Deep Dive Into Brockhampton's Iridescence

    27/09/2018 Duración: 01h31min

In this musical week, very little has occupied our minds other than the fourth studio album from the self-titled hardest working boyband in the world, Brockhampton. Kevin, Dom, Merlyn and the gang are back with their first major label release, and we simply had to spend a couple of hours submerging ourselves up to the eyeballs in it. Expect strong views, strong language and some strong, strong tunes. It's a biggy. Until next week, big thanks for tuning in. • #112 - Summer Eighteen

    19/09/2018 Duración: 01h20min

The temperature's dropping. The nights are drawing in. The clothes are getting a little thicker, and the hats a little woollier. The summer's all-but over here in dear old Blighty, but we're giving it one final send-off before the sun fully sets. This week we're in the studio to tell the sales of our summer, reminisce and play some big tunes that will always take us back to the glorious, halcyon days that made 2018's edition everything it was. It also seems a fitting moment to say a specially big, big thank you to all of you that have stuck with us through this one. We know we haven't been the most reliable, but your love and patience and ears have carried us through. Nice one, seriously. Until next week, all the best. • #111 - Say Magnifique

    12/09/2018 Duración: 01h29min

What's more super than a supergroup? Absolutely nothing, that's what. Supergroups are the most super thing the human race has to offer, and this week we're building the one of our dreams because, well, why not? So spend an hour with us as we allocate each position in our band to a big (or small) name musician, and marvel at our vision. Imagine the album our assembled stars would create. It'd be one for the ages, of that there can be no doubt. And you'd all have us to thank for making it happen. That'd be nice, wouldn't it? Yeah. It would. Big thanks for tuning in once again this week. You're all super. So super that you could all make a group yourselves too. • #110 - Dancin' In September

    05/09/2018 Duración: 01h39min

Do you remember, the 21st night of September? Love was changin' the minds of pretenders, while chasin' the clouds away. Our hearts were ringin', in the key that our souls were singin', as we danced in the night. Remember, how the stars stole the night away. All that definitely happened, and so did this week's podcast. We recorded it and now you're listening to it. Well done all of us. Until next week, Tim & Harry x We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. • #109 - Bang Bang Anglo-Saxon - A Tribute To Jamie T

    29/08/2018 Duración: 01h32min

On January 8th 1986, one Jamie Alexander Treays was born in Wimbledon, South London and, in the 32 years since, that young man has cemented his place in the hearts and minds of a generation of young music fans in his home country of England. In this episode, we explain exactly why. It's a celebration of the genius that is Jamie T and a tale of our youths. He has been our peer, our hero and our soundtrack, and he hasn't received anywhere near the amount of thanks he deserves for being exactly that. This is our little way of saying cheers to the main man. Let's all have a Stella and dance the night away. • #108 - Get Ur Frisson

    22/08/2018 Duración: 01h22min

We've got chills, they're multiplying, and it's not because of John Travolta and his glorious quiff and his tight t-shirt. It's because of science. This week we're diving into the mysterious, wondrous world of frisson - that feeling you get when a piece of music inexplicably makes your hairs stand on end and a spark flies down your spine. It feels indescribable, yet there is, apparently, a lot of research behind what elicits such a response from us. Now we're not the world's smartest people. The behavioural sciences aren't our bag, so we're not going to try and teach you a lesson. But we know what we like, and we like the feeling of frisson. We want more, so this week we're chasing it, and we're taking you all along for the ride. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you for downloading. We appreciate each and every one of you. • #107 - A Work Of Art

    15/08/2018 Duración: 01h23min

When you think about your favourite albums of all time, what first pops into your head? Is it the chorus that set you alight the first time you heard it? Is it the bonus track your mates didn't even know about but you did? Or is it, in fact, the artwork? We think it may well be the latter. For us it often is, anyway. Sleeve art can make or break a release, and a mistep in this area can lead to immediate rejection, no matter what glories lay within. Well for a while we've felt like we may be falling down in this area, like Tracks itself needed a little refresh. So we've given it one, put our (admittedly heavily stylised) faces right front and centre, and we're really happy with the results. So happy, in fact, that we're celebrating the fact with a whole episode on album artwork. Not the most obvious subject matter for an exclusively non-visual medium, but we like to do things differently around here. Big thumbs up to everyone who downloaded, and a big thumbs down to everyone who didn't. Until next week, Tim

  • #106 - Chasing Rainbows

    08/08/2018 Duración: 01h20min

This week's episode is something of a doubleheader, with each half taking place in very different parts of this beautiful country we call home. First up, we headed to Wiltshire. It was wet. It was windy. It was WOMAD 2018. We had the most amazing time at 'The World's Festival' in Malmesbury thanks to the lovely, lovely people at Borkowski, and this week we're delivering you our tales from the front line. Next, a return to sun-soaked Brighton was very much in order as one of our favourite events of the year took place. It was, of course, Pride weekend and we were so, so proud to welcome so many bold, beautiful and brilliant people to our hometown to not only dance the night away but, more importantly, promote equality and diversity, and advance education to eliminate discrimination against our mates in the LGBTQ community. It truly was a special, heartwarming, hope-inducing time and, in honour of it, the bulk of this week's episode comes in the form of a rainbow playlist. So get your flags out, tell someone

  • #105 - Reborn

    01/08/2018 Duración: 01h14min

Hello again listeners. How's it going? Having a good summer? Enjoying the heatwave? Yeah. Been nice, hasn't it? Beautiful. Anyway, now that the formalities are out of the way, we should probably address the fact that we've been away for a little while. Well, a long while actually. An unplanned Tracks hiatus has been in place and, while we feel dreadful for depriving you all of our dulcet tones for so long, we're not going to waste anyone's time with endless apologies. Instead, we're back this week to 1) explain what the hell was going on and 2) get this show back on that damn road. It's truly such a great feeling to be here in Tracks HQ once more, and we want to say a huge thanks to every single one of you that has stuck with us. You're the best. • #104 - We've Got A Text!

    20/06/2018 Duración: 01h20min

The sun. The shades. The slang. The Scottish voiceover man. The sexy, sexy people in sexy, sexy Spain. Everyone's favourite summer guilty pleasure is back, and this week we're paying our own little tribute to the national treasure that is, of course, Love Island. Deep down we all love ITV2's runaway phenomenon. Even if we don't think we do, the fact is that every evening come 9pm we'll be tuning in. And when we see a podcast suggestively named to relate to the biggest hit on UK television at the moment, we're all going to want a little bit more and download that too. Well, that's what we're hoping anyway. So welcome one and all to what is absolutely, categorically guaranteed to be our most downloaded episode of all time. Doesn't it feel good to be part of a crowd of millions? It sure feels good to be in front of it, we can tell you that for nothing. So it's a big thanks from us to everyone who has coupled up with us today. We're sure it's going to be the start of something beautiful. Tim & Harry x We
