  • #103 - It's Coming Home

    13/06/2018 Duración: 01h23min

It's coming home. It's coming home. It's coming. Football's coming home. Or at least it's off to Russia for a month-long bonanza, and we are beside ourselves with excitement. Yes, this week it seems like everyone is talking about the World Cup, but we just had to join in. Our brave English boys have touched down ahead of a tournament that offers much hope, and we needed to give them a soundtrack to carry them through. If you're not a football fan, don't worry. There's still plenty here for you. Bangers from the likes of Boy Azooga, Parquet Courts, Eagles of Death Metal and FEWS shine through our sporty chat, and we're looking back at a pretty momentous weekend at the inaugural Utopia All-Dayer too. It's a big episode, and we're delighted you're here to join us for it. Have a good week and, of course, COME ON ENGLAND!! • #102 - 2018 So Far

    06/06/2018 Duración: 01h39min

As Fairport Convention quite rightly said, who knows where the time goes? 2018 is whizzing by faster than any of us can actually cope with, but we're going to soldier on regardless. Who needs the last 6 months anyway? Well, it turns out, we do. Without them, we wouldn't have anything to talk about in this week's episode, as we're taking the opportunity to look back on the first half of the year and pick out some musical gems that may have passed you by. With bangers from artists ranging from Courtney Barnett to (of course) Kanye West, it's a genre-spanning episode we're sure you're going to love. And if you don't, listen to one of our last 101 episodes. They may or may not be better. Thanks so much for tuning in, and we'll see you next week. • A Brief, Post-TGE Message From Tracks

    23/05/2018 Duración: 53s

Apologies listeners, but there will be no new Wednesday episode this week as we recover from our exploits at this year's Great Escape Festival. If you haven't already, why not catch up on our four brilliant episodes from last weekend, or even delve back into the archives for your midweek dose of us? You know you want to. We'll be back next Wednesday as usual. Until then, have a good one. Tim & Harry x

  • The Great Escape Festival 2018 - Day 4 with Skinny Pelembe

    20/05/2018 Duración: 54min

Flames to dust. Lovers to friends. Why do all good things come to an end? We don't know the answer to that question listeners but, in the case of The Great Escape Festival 2018, we're at least going to make sure it finishes with a bang. Today is our final episode of an amazing run, and we're lucky enough to be joined on the show by the simply brilliant Skinny Pelembe. He blew our socks off when we saw him for the first time here at TGE, and it turns out he's a bloody lovely guy too. Be sure to tune in to the chat and check out his ridiculously good tunes too. As is now tradition, we end the show with our Great Escape edition of The Tracks Awards, and we invited two friendly faces along to help us out. Lizzie Garrett and Emily Hogarth have graced the podcast before, and have been along with us for the ride over this weekend. With their assistance, we're handing out 4 'Best Of...' prizes. All that's left for us to say is a huge thank you to everyone who has listened over the last few days. To all of our gues

  • The Great Escape Festival 2018 - Day 3 with Her's & Michael Jablonka

    19/05/2018 Duración: 01h03min

Three is, famously, the magic number, so we return this morning for the third episode of our run at this year's Great Escape Festival more determined than ever to sprinkle a little fairy dust into your ears. To help us do that, we invited two (yes, two!) amazing guests on to the show. First up, Her's. The spectacular dream-pop two-piece that have stolen the hearts of everyone who attended last night's Horatio's gig, and we were so delighted that they were able to find a little time in a jam-packed schedule to stop by and say hello. Next, it's Michael Jablonka. A name you'll definitely want to remember. His new single 'Flump' has been on almost constant rotation at Tracks HQ since it dropped a few weeks ago, and his chat is almost as good as his tunes. A big, massive thanks to both guests for giving up their precious time and this wonderful festival, and to you guys at home for listening. Big up, and we'll see you tomorrow. • The Great Escape Festival 2018 - Day 2 with Nilüfer Yanya

    18/05/2018 Duración: 01h05min

The sun's out. The drinks are flowing. Brighton's on top form and we're back for the second episode in our 4-day run at this year's Great Escape Festival. First up are our tales from the front line. Thursday was a near-perfect day here on England's south coast, and boy oh boy do we have a story to two to share with you all. Then, a truly magical moment for us here at Tracks. Last year's recipient of our Song Of The Year award, Nilüfer Yanya, was kind enough to stop by our little Brighton pad for a quick chat mere moments after arriving at TGE, and we couldn't be more grateful that she did. An absolute pleasure, and one we'll remember for quite some time. Then, it's Friday's big recommendations. It looks set to be another HUGE day of music for all of our fellow festival goers, and we're here to make sure you don't miss any of the brightest talents on offer. Thanks again for being here, and we'll chat in the morning. Tim & Harry x We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. Ou

  • The Great Escape Festival 2018 - Day 1

    17/05/2018 Duración: 53min

It's Thursday, and our favourite day of the year is *finally* here. The Great Escape Festival has hit the streets of Brighton once more, and we're back for another year to soak up every bit of goodness on offer. In today's episode, we're reminiscing about TGE's gone by before getting ourselves geared up for a huge, huge, huge opening day of action. The likes of Yellow Days, Superorganism, Idles and Puma Blue are gracing today's show as well as the festival itself, and you won't want to miss a moment of either. Enjoy, and we'll see you tomorrow! • #101 - Get In The Bin

    09/05/2018 Duración: 01h36min

This week we're getting all Orwellian, taking inspiration from the masterpiece that is 1984 and heading to room 101 - a place containing each person’s ultimate breaking point, worst nightmare, fear or phobia. That sounds fun, doesn't it? Fear not, we're not getting all dark on you just yet. Instead, we're guiding you through the little pet peeves that make us the odd little men we truly are, picking songs that represent them and then condemning them to eternity in room 101 (or the bin, as we prefer to say). Many, many, many laughs were had while recording this one and, hopefully, you'll all share in them too. Maybe you won't. Either way, it was either this or dalmatians for #101, so you've got off lightly. Until next week, Tim & Harry x We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. • #100 - Three Hearts & No Brain with Kane Strang

    02/05/2018 Duración: 01h21min

Well, we made it folks. One hundred episodes. The century. The big ton. We're here, and damn it feels good. When reaching such a milestone, it's natural to look back and reflect on what has been a quite amazing journey. We've done some brilliant things and met the best people since we started this podcast but, really, one guest stands out to us above all others. Dunedin's very own Kane Strang is a bonafide musical hero for both of us, with each of his two albums ranking amongst our all-time favourites, and welcoming him on to the show at last year's Great Escape Festival was a thrill like no other. Ever since then we've wanted to get Kane back on the show for a full episode in our classic 'old, new, borrowed, blue' format, and when we asked if he'd mind giving up his Monday morning to do exactly that he was only too happy to oblige. He's nice like that. So thank you to Kane for joining us on what we think is a perfect hundredth episode. Thank you to you, our listeners. Thank you to our friends and family.

  • #099 - We Got 99 Problems But A Theme Ain't One

    25/04/2018 Duración: 01h18min

There are many ways in which we're similar to Jay-Z. Too many to list, really. But the main one is that we've got problems. Shedloads of the things, in fact, and this week we're talking about a few of them. Now we realise that could sound depressing but fear not. We're no Debbie Downers. This is an episode full to the brim with laughs as we delve into everything from ghosting to the unholy reality that is Harry's underwear drawer. Hold on to your sides, because we accept no responsibility for them splitting. Worried there might not be enough tunes? Fear not. Six problems come with six songs, meaning that your weekly dose of stonecold bangers is very much here as always. Big thanks for tuning in once again. We ♥️ you all, and we can't wait to see you next week for a HUGE celebration. Until then, Tim & Harry x We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. • #098 - Record Store Day 2018

    21/04/2018 Duración: 01h19min

It's the biggest day of the year for music fans and people who love queueing outside their favourite vinyl outlet, and we're back for a third time to preview all of the fun. Yes, Record Store Day 2018 is here! With over 500 special releases and more yumminess than it's possible to wrap your brain around, this year's event is bigger than ever. Lucky, then, that we're here to pick out the best of the best, and point you in the direction of those gems you simply cannot afford to miss. A massive thank you for making us part of your Record Store Day. We don't deserve you. You do deserve us. • #097 - Tracks Base, Hotel & Casino

    10/04/2018 Duración: 01h38min

A certain iconic band from a certain northern English city with a certain lead singer named Alex *finally* announced their new album this week, and we were unsurprisingly so inspired by the madness of it all that we made a podcast about it. Yes, of course, we're talking about Arctic Monkeys and their upcoming release 'Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino'. That teaser video. That artwork. Those song titles. Those haircuts. We're taking a deep dive into it all and coming to surface with some absolute bangers, especially for you guys. You're welcome. Massive shouts to each and every one of you for tuning in. You're the best. Tim & Harry x We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. • #096 - The Bad, The Bad And The Ugly

    04/04/2018 Duración: 01h24min

As we rapidly approach our 100th episode, we're getting a bit retrospective. With a tear in our eyes and a lump in our throats, we're looking back at all of the amazing things we've done over the past few years on Tracks. Or, more specifically this week, some of the terrible, terrible ideas we've had along the way. Coming up with new subjects to chat to you guys about every week isn't as easy as we make it look, and there have been some absolute clangers that (thank the lord) never made it to you guys. In an episode that has made us laugh like almost no other, we're dusting those off the cutting room floor and bringing them to you. Fear not, however. The ideas may be bad, but the tunes are good. In fact, they're fucking brilliant. You're going to love them, honest. So nice one, thanks, cheers, yes m8 for being with us again. We love you. See you soon, Tim & Harry x We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. Our theme tune is Ice Cold by Audionautix and is licensed under a Cr

  • #095 - Hot And Fresh Out The Kitchen

    28/03/2018 Duración: 01h21min

As the title suggests, this week is the remix to ignition. We're hot and fresh out the kitchen, and we're very much rollin' that pod like every listener was wishin'. Basically, this week SBTRKT released a remix of Chance The Rapper's 'All We Got' that was so damn brilliant we had no choice but to base an entire episode around it. We're taking a deep dive into the world of the remix, and the results are magnificent.  We've genuinely enjoyed very few episodes' playlists as much as this one, so buckle in and get ready for an hour or so of unbelievable tunes and some half decent chat too. Thanks for being here. Until next week, Tim & Harry x We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. • #094 - Keep Your NMEs Close

    21/03/2018 Duración: 01h21min

One of the great institutions of the British alternative music scene, the NME, announced this week that they would be ceasing the production of their print publication after over 70 years, so naturally we had to pay our own Tracks Show tribute. Well and truly putting the FUN in FUNeral, we spun some massive tunes from the likes of The Libertines, Happy Mondays, Klaxons and Just Jack and reminisced about our memories of this staple of our musical upbringing. So it's thanks for the memories from us to the NME, and thanks for tuning in to you, our lovely listeners. • #093 - Panic On The Streets Of London

    14/03/2018 Duración: 01h31min

This week we're heading to the streets of our fine capital as our frankly nonsensical 2018 narrative adventure continues. London has produced so much incredible music over the years, and with the scene now as vibrant as ever we set out to highlight some of the hottest new talents the city has to offer. We've got top tunes from the likes of Stereo Honey, Jamie Isaacs, Joe Fox, Subculture Sage and many more, it's a massive show and we're delighted you've joined us for it. Many thanks. • #092 - For Kenny, Forever Ago

    07/03/2018 Duración: 01h29min

Here in the world of Tracks, it would appear that incredible, life-changing gigs are a little like London buses; you wait years for one, and then two come along within 7 days of each other. Over the last few weeks we've been lucky enough to head out and watch both Kendrick Lamar and Bon Iver in the flesh, and both have blown our minds in completely different ways. Incredible artists playing iconic shows, and these are our tales from the front line. Away from all of that, we've got musical highlights from Fontaines DC and Richard Russell, and some incredibly coy chat about where we've been for the last week or two. It's a BIG episode, and we're so happy you've joined us for it. Until next week, Tim & Harry x We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. • #091 - Birthday Bumps

    28/02/2018 Duración: 01h40min

It's our very own Tim's birthday this week, and we're celebrating in style. In his 27 years on this planet, Tim has found a number of things he really, really likes. He likes Yorkshire. He likes beer. He looks good haircuts. This week we're delving into all three and picking some absolute bangers related to each of them. As always, it's a big thanks from us for tuning in, and many happy returns to our main man. Until next week, Tim & Harry x We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. • #090 - Feelin' Some Kinda Way with The Shacks

    14/02/2018 Duración: 01h13min

This week we’re absolutely delighted to welcome a quite brilliant band to the show. Their name is The Shacks, they hail from the U.S of A, and we were lucky enough to grab a few hours of their time during the London stop of their ongoing European tour. As is always the case when we have a Tracks Show debutant, we dusted off our 'old, new, borrowed, blue' format and requested four songs from our esteemed guests. They certainly didn't disappoint with their selections, delivering 50s gems and modern classics as we delve into the music that inspires one of the most exciting bands around right now. A few big, massive thank you's are in order for this one - to producer Harry for making us sound good, Wave Studios for giving us a home for the evening and, of course, The Shacks and their management for making the interview happen. We loved making this episode and we couldn’t have done it without any of you guys. Cheers! Until next week, Tim & Harry x We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in thi
