  • #089 - Hello Commuters With Your Computers

    07/02/2018 Duración: 01h00s

As regular listeners will know, Harry loves nothing more than banging on endlessly about his commute to and from work, and specifically the joys of his train journeys. At this stage he's pretty much a train spotter, if we're being honest with ourselves. Well, this week we're indulging in this huge passion of his by diving into the world of the commuter and picking some classic to help get you through. If the next hour or so doesn't make the Northern Line bearable, then nothing will. A big, huge, enormous thank you to every one of you for tuning in, and we'll see you next week. All the best, Tim & Harry x We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. • #088 - It's Just Night Talk, Baby

    31/01/2018 Duración: 01h30min

It's dusk. The night is drawing in. Things are getting cosy. Sultry. Maybe even a little bit sexy. You're settling in, and you want to be soothed into the wee hours. Look no further, Tracks is here. The next stop on 2018's narrative adventure is indeed the nighttime, and we're bringing the ultimate juxtaposition - absolute bangers about sleeping, dreaming and all those other lovely, wholesome late night activities. Chilled tunes sit side by side with some absolute whoppers in what really is a dream of an episode. Thank you so much for joining us once again and, until next week, sleep well. • #087 - Cooking Up A Storm

    24/01/2018 Duración: 01h19min

After last week's exertions in space, we were delighted to get back on solid ground this week and enjoy some home comforts. There's nothing better than stuffing your face with the food of home after a long trip, and with an episode (very, very, very) vaguely based around a three course meal, that's exactly what we're doing this week. With stone cold bangers from the likes of Palma Violets, Chic and The Avalanches alongside some HUGE musical highlights of the week from Young Fathers and every great ska artist that ever lived, it's a show packed with fun that we know you're going to love. A big, fat, crumby kiss to each and every one of you for joining us this week. Until next week, bon appetite! Tim & Harry x We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. • #086 - Pale Blue Dot

    17/01/2018 Duración: 01h34min

There are certain dates in the Tracks calendar that are worthy of celebration year after year, and one of them just so happens to be occurring this week. It's Harry's birthday again, and we're in the party spirit! As a little treat to everyone's favourite presenter with a name beginning with H, we decided to indulge him and spend an episode talking about one of his favourite subjects - SPACE. We're jetting off into orbit armed with a notebook full of facts and pockets stuffed with tunes, and we're over the moon (pun intended) that you're coming with us. Until we're back on terra firma, Tim & Harry x We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. • #085 - The Boys Are Back In Town

    10/01/2018 Duración: 01h05min

HELLO AGAIN! January has rolled around faster than any of us could have possibly imagined, and it's time to get going once again. A New Year, possibly a new us. Who knows. Only time will tell on that front. But what we can be sure of is that Tracks is finally back after a little festive break and we couldn't be happier that that's the case. This week is all about looking forward to the year ahead, and playing some tunes that are getting us excited. It's a simple one but a good one, and we're delighted that you've decided to come back and join us as we get 2018 going in style. We've missed your faces. • #084 - The Tracks Awards 2017 - Albums Of The Year

    20/12/2017 Duración: 01h49min

So here we are. It's the finale of yet another year in the world of Tracks as we hand out the biggest award of them all - Album Of The Year. At this time of year, we know there are a lot of round up lists floating around what the kids like to call the World Wide Web, but you have our word that this is the best of the lot. We put blood, sweat and tears in as we whittled down this year's best releases into a perfect top 10, and we think we've smashed it. Hopefully you do too.  As this is also our last episode of 2017, we just want to say one last ENORMOUS thank you to every single person who has tuned in, whether it be for one episode or the whole lot. We couldn't do it without you, and your support means the world to us. Have a wonderful festive period, and we'll see you next year. • #082 - The Tracks Awards 2017 - A Pop Culture Round-Up

    06/12/2017 Duración: 01h38min

December is here, and that can only mean one thing - it's Tracks Awards season! Once again we're picking our favourites of the year and, quite literally, praising them like we should. This week it all gets underway with our first six awards. The glimmering trophies on offer are for the categories of Best Podcast, Best TV Show, Best Film, Best Twitter Personality, Best Album Artwork and Best Live Performance, and with chat about all of our nominees in each it's a properly mammoth episode. We had a great time reliving some of 2017's most glorious pop culture moments, and we're sure you will too. Next week's episode will be all about our Song of the Year 2017 shortlist, so be sure to tune in again next Wednesday. Until then, we love you. • #081 - Live at Kane Strang & Bonobo

    29/11/2017 Duración: 01h20min

The clue's in the title this week, listeners. Do we really have to do *all* of the work *all* of the time? Ok, fine, let us explain. This week, two of our favourite artists headed to our wonderful hometown of Brighton, and we braved the harsh winter breeze to get out and see both of them on consecutive nights. Each blew our socks off in their own, very particular way, and this week you can hear our tales from the front line. With musical highlights of the week from the likes of Alt-J and Oh Boland too, it's our 81st consecutive huge show, and we're over the moon that you've decided to join us for it. • #080 - Festive Beasts And Where To Buy Them

    22/11/2017 Duración: 01h16min

This week, the headlines in the UK have been dominated by one particular fella. #MozTheMonster emerged into our lives, marking the beginning of the festive period on these shores in a time honoured, uber-capitalist manner, and sending us into a vortex of nostalgia. We are, of course, talking about the John Lewis Christmas advert. Sickly sweet and acoustically soundtracked by Elbow, it's traditional fare that has become a staple of this time of year, but it wasn't always like this. Adverts of the past were fun, mad and came rammed with huge tunes (or at least some did), and this week that's exactly what we're chatting about. With tunes from the likes of Gaz Coombes, Man Like Me and even Elvis himself, it's a whopper of an episode and not one to miss. So sit back, relax and try to forget about that monster lurking under your bed. Until next week, Tim & Harry x We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. • Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word

    15/11/2017 Duración: 03min

After a difficult week at Tracks HQ, your podcast feeds have been deprived of their weekly Tracks fix. We know how completely that must have broken your hearts, and we're incredibly sorry. But fear not, Tim's here to explain what's happening, and when we'll be back in your ears again. We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode.

  • #079 - Mix Up, Look Sharp

    08/11/2017 Duración: 01h07min

Summer. It feels like a distant memory now, doesn't it? Those endless days of sun and fun, sun fun and fun sun. They were great, and we miss them. While we can't bring back that most glorious of seasons (we're not in charge of the weather, people, give us a break) we can do our best to take you back in our own, Tracks-y way. Regular listeners will remember that we ended our summer season with a pair of solo mix episodes, playing a ton of music which we loved and generally having a little summer groove. We really loved those episodes, and we know you did too, so this week we decided to come together and make our first joint mix episode. Along with the usual guff - musical highlights and the like - we've got over 30 songs to bring to you which we rate incredibly highly, and we think you will to. It's a big ol' mix, and we're delighted that you're here to hear it. Until next week, we love you. Tim & Harry x We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. • #078 - Trick Or Tracks

    31/10/2017 Duración: 01h19min

It's time to get your spook on, listeners! Halloween is here and we're celebrating the only way we know how - with ghoulishly good music and chat that's so damn entertaining it's scary. There will be no Monster Mash or Thriller here, however, as we take a dive into the alternative Halloween playlist. With tracks from the likes of Childish Gambino, Oingo Boingo, We Are Scientists and Jamie T amongst others, it's devilishly good stuff. As always, it's a huge thanks for tuning in. Have a very happy Halloween, and we'll see you next week. Tim & Harry

  • #077 - An Apple A Day

    24/10/2017 Duración: 01h25min

16 years ago today, a musical revolution began. Unusually, however, the event that kicked it off didn't take place on stage or in a recording studio, but in an auditorium in Cupertino, California. Steve Jobs, roll-neck and all, unveiled the very first Apple iPod, and the way we consume music was changed forever. This week, we're going back to those heady days when your iPod was your everything. When cover flows mattered more to us than grades at school. When those white headphone wires marked you out from the crowd. These are our MP3 years, and we've got the tunes to prove it. As always, thank you so much for tuning in. You're the best. • #076 - A Family Full Of Eccentrics

    17/10/2017 Duración: 01h29min

In the world of music, there are a number of certainties. As sure as summer follows spring, Mick Jagger will live forever, Moby will never grow hair, Coldplay always be bad, and the Gallagher brothers will always, always have beef. These are inescapable facts, and this week we're concentrating on the last of them. As Noel and Liam Gallagher go head-to-head once more in the arenas of new music, new outbursts and new Gallagher-ness, we assess the two individuals. Hitting on their varied contributions to popular culture over the years and, of course, their new material, we move towards crowing one of them King and very nearly get there. An exceptional achievement on our part, we think you'll agree. So, as always, it's a massive thank you for joining us. We love you for it. • #075 - r u ok m8?

    10/10/2017 Duración: 01h21min

Mental health awareness is a cause that is incredibly close to our hearts here at Tracks, and with this week's release day happening to fall on World Mental Health Day, we could think of no finer subject for episode #075. World Mental Health Day is an initiative that was set up to promote the open discussion of mental illness, and help those affected directly or indirectly by what really is an epidemic within our society. Today, in our own little way, we're trying to promote the same. While our advice has no basis more reliable than our own meandering experience, we did our best to dispense it in what is, in fact, an episode we're really proud of. We pay tribute to musicians who have spoken openly about their own experiences, play songs that hit on key issues and generally open up around what is an often highly-stigmatised subject area. Alongside the more ernest content, there's some great music too. Expect to hear from the likes of Whitney, Kane Strang, Beast Coast, Sufjan Stevens and even a little bit of

  • #074 - Movie Night

    03/10/2017 Duración: 53min

Today, release day, is October 3rd, and to many of our listeners that particular date means only one thing. Yes, it's a Mean Girls reference than we don't really understand, but we've decided to (sort of) build an episode around it anyway. Basically, Mean Girls is a movie. And it has music in it. And other movies have music too. In fact, movies and music go hand-in-hand. You get where we're going with this. As huge music fans, a soundtrack can quite literally make or break even the most intriguing of pictures for us, and this week we're talking about some of our all-time favourite musical moments within the films we love. It's simple, really. With tunes from the likes of Echo & The Bunnymen, David Bowie, Pixies, Black Swede and The Last Bayou Ramblers it's an episode jam-packed with bangers, and that's not even to mention our musical highlights from the spectacular Lykke Li and Jordan Rakei. It's a big, brilliant movie night in, and we're delighted you've decided to join us for it. Until next week, Ti

  • #073 - It's In The Game

    26/09/2017 Duración: 01h03min

This week we're letting the nerds within come out and take centre stage, as we celebrate the release of a certain video game by heading way back into the archives. FIFA. EA Sports. It's In The Game. They're magical words that echo through our childhoods, and for those of a similar disposition they're impossible to recite without adopting that famous deep tone. We're football fans and we love it, but what the uninitiated may not realise is that FIFA isn't all about football. Since the 1990s every edition has come with a brilliant, vibrant accompanying playlist of distinctive tunes that well and truly lodge themselves into the psyche of every single player. So many new acts and classic songs have been discovered thanks to FIFA, and that's what we're celebrating this week. Along with brilliant musical highlights of the week, dive in and discover six brilliantly varied tracks from acts you may not have ever heard of. For the music fan and the gamer, this episode's a table topper. As always, a massive thanks f

  • #072 - What Happens On Tour

    19/09/2017 Duración: 01h10min

Festival season may be drawing to a close here in the UK, but there's no shortage of live entertainment coming our way in the next few months. The entire music scene is seemingly heading out on an autumn tour, and this week we're guiding you through the shows you absolutely cannot afford to miss. With tunes from the likes of Grizzly Bear, Black Honey, LCD Soundsystem and Father John Misty alongside musical highlights of the week from Washed Out and Rostam, there can surely be no other podcast on the market this week offering so much danceability. It's wall to wall bangers, laced together by a Tim and Harry reunion after our summer break. What more could you want? As always, it's a massive thanks from us to everyone out there downloading, and we'll see you next week for an episode we've been looking forward to for a long, long time. Until then, Tim & Harry x We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. Our theme tune is Ice Cold by Audionautix and is licensed under a Creative Co

  • #071 - And The Nominees Are...

    12/09/2017 Duración: 01h03min

Here at Tracks HQ, we’re rarely wooed by the glitz and glamour of awards shows, but the Mercury Prize is a major exception to the rule. An award of genuine cultural significance, with a judging panel made up of noted musicians, journalists, producers, presenters and composers, it stands apart as a truly intriguing barometer of the UK and Irish music scene each year, and this week we’re casting our eye over 2017’s twelve shortlisted albums ahead of this Thursday’s ceremony. With Tracks favourites such Loyle Carner, The xx, Kate Tempest and Sampha on the shortlist alongside lesser-known but no less intriguing acts such as J Hus and Dinosaur, it’s an episode packed to the rafters with fantastic tunes, and culminates in us putting our necks on the line and predicting our winners of the 2017 Mercury Music Prize. Big thanks for tuning in this week. It’s an absolute joy to be back again after two weeks in the wilderness. Until next week, Tim & Harry x  We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in t
