  • Harry's Summer Mix 2017

    05/09/2017 Duración: 30min

Another week, another brilliant summer mix. It's Harry's turn to take the reigns and guide you through the last 7 days before Tracks finally returns, and rest assured he does it in style. Taking you, our wonderful listeners, on a journey from fuzzy psych to the most chilled acoustic tunes you could wish to have tickling your little eardrums (via an ineviatable Tyler, The Creator stop or two, obviously) it's a selection that will have you waltzing through the summer's finale. Once again, if you'd like to hear the full versions of the songs played in this episode then be sure to check out the 100% official Spotify playlist - http://spoti.fi/2yw5ZGE. Otherwise, it's simply a huge thank you for your continued support and patience whilst we take a much-needed break, and we can't wait to be back with you next week. • Tim's Summer Mix 2017

    29/08/2017 Duración: 30min

We may be away enjoying a well-earned summer break, but we couldn't leave you, our lovely listeners, empty-handed for a whole fortnight. How could we? You'd never survive. Instead, we're filling the gap with two very special, solo episodes, the first of which is right here. It's one half of the Tracks team taking the reigns and bringing you the tunes that are carrying them through this most sunny of seasons, and it's a whole lot of fun. First up is Tim, who takes us on a journey through his music and mind via the likes of Little Barrie, Rostam, Aphex Twin, Yo La Tengo, Action Bronson and many, many more wonderful acts. It's a mix to get you raving and relaxing in equal measures, and we're sure you'll love it. If you'd like to hear the full versions of the songs played, be sure to check out the Spotify playlist for this episode here - http://spoti.fi/2y23JUn. Otherwise, simply pour yourself a piña colada, sit back and enjoy the ride. • #070 - School's Out For Summer

    22/08/2017 Duración: 01h18min

Ah, the last week of school. Those halcyon days of games, sports days and general chaos. Why did they insist on keeping us there when no learning was taking place? We're not really sure, but this week we're reliving the fun of it all as we prepare for our very own summer holidays. It's essentially a show and tell session as we give ourselves complete free rein to play whatever we like, and the result is a pretty special musical selection. Expect to hear the likes of The Go! Team, Patience and even some Gorky's Zygotic Mynci alongside musical highlights from The Cribs and The Horrors.  There will be a couple of very special, slightly different episodes coming in the next few weeks while we recharge the batteries, so keep an eye out on the feed for those. Until then, it's a huge thanks for tuning in throughout our summer season. We love you. Tim & Harry x We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. • #069 - A Summer To Remember (An Episode To Forget)

    15/08/2017 Duración: 54min

With post-Pride hangovers in full swing, we headed to Tracks HQ to talk about the summer of '69. Not the Bryan Adams song, but one of the most significant summers in musical history. From August 15th to August 18th 1969 the legendary Woodstock Festival look place, and it still stands out today as one of the most iconic gatherings of its kind. 400,000 people decended on a New York dairy farm for 4 days of peace, love and music. In this week's episode, we do that magic of the whole thing absolutely no justice what-so-ever with our knowledge - patchy at best. Still, there are plenty of laughs along the way as well as stunning music from some of the greatest artists of all time. Thanks for joining us again, and we'll be back on top form next week. Cheers! • #068 - The Regal Project with Les Miserable & J Dangerous of Italia 90

    08/08/2017 Duración: 01h26min

This week we were delighted to be joined at Tracks HQ by half of the brilliant Italia 90. Described by DIY as an "extremely exciting band" with tunes packed with "biting, razor-sharp one-liners", these boys are the real deal. We covered their excellent debut 'Italia 90 EP' in some depth before deliving into the roots of their musical history with a traditional old, new, borrowed, blue session. They were fantastic sports and brought some great tunes along to play, so a big thanks from all at Tracks to both Les Miserable and J Dangerous. And a big thanks, as always, to you all at home for tuning in too. Much love, Tim & Harry x We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. • #067 - Busy Thinkin' 'Bout Boys

    03/08/2017 Duración: 01h04min

Just like pretty much everyone else in the world this week, we've been transfixed by Charli XCX's brilliantly bold new video for 'Boys'. Not only is it packed to the brim with stars we love, but its message is potent and timely. So, in a solute to our new favourite video of the year, we've put together a whole episode inspired by those 2 minutes 47 seconds of magic. Expect top tunes from the likes of Future Islands, Carl Barât and Stormzy, as well musical highlights of the week from Tyler, The Creator and Trentemøller ft. Warpaint's very own Jenny Lee Lindberg. It's a packed show and whole lot of fun, and we hope you enjoy it. Until next week! Tim and Harry x We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. • #066 - S.O.S (Save Our SoundCloud)

    25/07/2017 Duración: 01h07min

When the mighty empire of MySpace fell in the mid 2010's, a void opened on the internet. Millions of musicians and fans, hungry to share the tunes they were making and the stuff they loved, needed a new home, and it was a bunch of clever Swedes in Stockholm who built them one. For nearly a decade, SoundCloud has been the go-to place to find fresh, exciting and unbelievably diverse music from artists from all around the world, and this week we're paying tribute to it. With news circulating of the site's possible demise, we take the opportunity to present a loveletter of sorts to the plaform that has introduced us to some of the exhilirating music to get our eardrums bouncing over the last few years. Long live Soundcloud. Long live Chance The Rapper. And, most importantly, long live Tracks. Until next week x We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. • #065 - We Only Makin' The Highlights

    18/07/2017 Duración: 01h06min

After a disrupted few weeks of festivals, friends and frolics on the podcast, we're back to business with a round up of the best music the last month has had to offer. Our long-overdue return to the comfort of a Tuesday night at Tracks HQ featured the likes of Toro y Moi, Big Thief, Atlas Wynd,  Romare as well as podcast recomendations and even a movie shout out too. It's a packed show, and sit back, relax and enjoy the ride. Until next week, thanks. Tim & Harry x We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. • #064 - Mr Real Returns with Jake Trangmar

    11/07/2017 Duración: 01h05min

Just 13 short months ago, a prodigal son made his Tracks debut. His given name was Jake Trangmar, his adopted name was Mr Real, and his appearance on the show went down in podcast folklore for the wonderful chaos that ensued. Well, this week he's back for a long-overdue second bite at the proverbial cherry, armed with a mighty hangover and an even mightier playlist to share with us. We discuss last weekend's London trip to pay our final respects to our beloved Maccabees at their final ever show, as well as receiving top musical recommendations from the likes of Songhoy Blues, Hilltop Hoods and Queens of the Stone Age. We had a load of fun recording it, and you WILL have a lot of fun listening to it (or else). Thanks for being here, and we'll see you next week x  We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. • #063 - Post-Glastonbury Blues 2017 (Part 2)

    04/07/2017 Duración: 01h31min

Getting home from Glastonbury is, without doubt, one of the saddest moments of our years. So sad, in fact, that we find it literally impossible to sum up our feelings and relive our memories in just one podcast episode, so we're back again with the second part of Post-Glastonbury Blues 2017. In this installment, we relive Saturday and Sunday of the best festival on the world, and get a little bit too drunk and a little bit too sentimental about the whole thing. By this stage, we know you wouldn't want or expect anything else from us. If you've managed to make it through the entirity of these two episodes, then you are truly a hero and a god amongst men. Big, big shouts to you. If you haven't managed to make it through the entirity of these two episodes but you're reading this, then we still love you, just not as quite as much as the others. Either way, a massive thanks for being here, and we'll see you next week x We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. Our theme tune is Ice

  • #063 - Post-Glastonbury Blues 2017 (Part 1)

    04/07/2017 Duración: 01h09min

Worthy Farm is a magical place, and never has that been more clear than at 2017's edition of the Glastonbury Festival. The sun was out, the festival-goers were on top form and the artists shone as we had what was quite literally the best weekend of our lives. Sadly, however, all good things must come to an end, and we have since returned home to our normal, far less exciting lives. It's sad, but as the dust settles, the tents are packed away and the hangovers begin to ease, we've headed into our studio to bring you our festival tales. In this first part, we recount Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, with plenty of laughs along the way. We're hilarious guys, how could there not be?! Thank you so much for tuning in. It's great to be back in your ears, if not back in the real world. Be sure to tune in to part 2, which *should* be on our feed just above this one. • #062 - Getting Ready For Glastonbury 2017

    20/06/2017 Duración: 59min

The world's biggest and best music festival is just a couple of short days away, and Tracks preparing to head to it. This week, we bring our excitement straight into your ears (only slightly tempered by Tim's hideous hangover at the time of recording) as we prepare for another spectacular few days at Worthy Farm. As well as all of the the usual pre-game team talk, we bring three picks of acts not to miss over the weekend and much more besides. • #061 - Lucky Number Thirteen

    13/06/2017 Duración: 59min

For many people, the number thirteen is seen as unlucky. This week, however, we're here to prove that old adage wrong with some incredible tunes that lay in 13th spot on their respective albums. With the likes of The Specials, Kendrick Lamar and Arcade Fire getting a run out, it's an episode that's guaranteed to get you dancing. Elsewhere, there are musical higlights of the week from Remi, Sampa the Great and Beach House, making it a properly bumper episode. Thanks for tuning in, and until next week, ✌️✌️✌️ We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. • #060 - A Political Party

    06/06/2017 Duración: 01h03min

This coming Thursday, the UK has a huge decision to make. Blue or red? May or Corbyn? The many or the few? The General Election 2017 just two days away, and we're mulling over these questions in a politcal party of our own. This week, we picked songs which feel highly relevant at this moment in time, which reflect our personal politics or even went some way to informing them at a time when we initially became engaged with the political world. With the likes of Billy Bragg, A Tribe Called Quest and Skepta getting a run out, it's a big one. All of that may suggest a rather serious episode, but it's far from it. We had an absolute ball recording, and here's hoping we're still partying come the morning of Friday 9th June. Until next week, VOTE LABOUR. Cheers! • #059 - A City United

    30/05/2017 Duración: 43min

After the saddest, most tragic of weeks, there was only one place we could possibly focus our attentions for today's episode. Manchester is a city that has brought so much happiness to our lives musically and culturally, and the events there this week broke our hearts. Here, we play music from the city and reflect on a week we will never forget. We mourn the loss of the victims, and pay tribute to the courage of those helping each and every one of us bounce back. • The Great Escape Festival 2017 - Day 4 with Jerry Williams

    21/05/2017 Duración: 44min

As the dust settles on The Great Escape for another year, we're back with our final episode from our latest festival run. Today we're lucky enough to be joined by this simply wonderful Jerry Williams. She stopped by Tracks HQ shortly before she took to the stage to play a packed out and frankly brilliant set at Jubilee Square, and was the dream guest.  Elsewhere in the show, we hand out our Tracks Awards, crown our kings and queens of TGE 2017 and generally mourn the end of an unbelievably brilliant weekend. So all that's left for us to do is thank you all so much for listening, thank our guests for being so brilliant and thank The Great Escape for being such perfect hosts and taking such good care of us. We love you all. See you next year. We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. • #058 - Golden (Slightly) Oldies

    09/05/2017 Duración: 01h17min

We are, by most people's standards, still young people. In the thick of our 20s, old age still seems blissfully far away. When we realised this week that Arctic Monkey's Favourite Worst Nightmare was top of the UK charts a full decade ago, however, we felt about 100. So, in a blur of nostalgia and desperation to feel young again, we headed to the archives to pick out a few choice tracks which feel to us like they only came out yesterday, but are in fact now bona fide *classics*. All of that may sound depressing, but it's one of the most danceable episode playlists we've ever had, and we laughed a lot recording it. Hopefully you'll enjoy it just as much.
