  • #057 - Even More Jaye Williams

    02/05/2017 Duración: 01h12min

After 7 long days, Jaye Williams is back on Tracks Show once more, lending his dulcet tones to a conversation about, well, everything! It's one of our least music-filled episode thus far, but when you've got somebody as interesting as Jaye on the other end of your Skype line, why bother playing music? We're currently preparing to cover The Great Escape Festival 2017, and already have some incredibly exciting things lined up. Be sure to keep an eye on our feed in the coming weeks for the best coverage around of Europe's biggest independent music festival. We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. • #056 - Across The Pond with Jaye Williams

    25/04/2017 Duración: 58min

This week we were lucky enough to be joined by fellow music fan, podcaster and bona fide American, Jaye Williams. As is now Tracks tradition, his first appearance on the show consisted of an old, new, borrowed, blue selection, and we've got to say he absolutely smashed it, introducing us to a host of new acts and playing some stone-cold bangers. A great guest, a new mate and all round good egg, be sure to check out Jaye's projects Sight & Sound (http://apple.co/2or971U) and In The Galaxy (http://apple.co/2pgjdlg), and give him a follow on Twitter @jayewilliams We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. • #055 - Record Store Day 2017

    18/04/2017 Duración: 01h22min

For music fans, there are few better days of the year than Record Store Day. Started 10 years ago, it celebrates all that our culture has to offer with hundreds of independent record shops all across the UK getting involved, and 2017's event is just around the corner. So, ahead of the big event on Saturday 22nd April, we're running through the special releases we're desperate to get our grubby little mits on. With picks from Fickle Friend, Cabbage and Say Sue Me, as well as RSD's King David Bowie, it's a bumper episode of huge tunes. What else would you expect? So thanks for downloading, and be sure to head over to www.recordstoreday.co.uk to find out what's happening near you this coming Saturday. Enjoy! • #054 - Going Back To 808

    11/04/2017 Duración: 01h11min

Last week we sadly lost legendary Roland TR-808 drum machine inventor Ikutaro Kakehashi. An innovator who made an incredible contribution to modern music, and one fully deserving of a full Tracks Show tribute. So this week we picked 3 songs each which feature a 808 beat, and went all the way from 1970s Japanese new wave to dance and hip-hop tunes from the last few years. There are also musical highlights of the week from Glass Animals and, bizarrely, Right Said Fred, making it yet another bumper week.  We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. • #053 - Shiny Happy People

    04/04/2017 Duración: 01h21min

Tracks is back from a week-long hiatus, and we’re celebrating with our happiest episode ever.  With smiles spanning from ear to ear, we’re marking the release of the World Happiness Report by picking songs that get our feet moving and fill our hearts with joy. No cheesy stuff though, with the likes of Charles Sheffield, White Denim and Future Islands ensuring that our record of never playing anything but big, big tunes continues. With musical highlights of the week from Mr Jukes and Alexandra Saviour added into the mix, it’s a return to form for Brighton’s premier music podcast. • #052 - Hey Mama

    21/03/2017 Duración: 01h25min

Mothers, eh? Can't live with 'em. Can't live without 'em. So as Mother's Day rolls round once again here in the UK, we're paying tribute to the ladies who brought us into the world.   Once again we've got three separate questions on our theme, and with the likes of Patti Smith, Rag'n'Bone Man and Donna Summer making the cut, it's your usual helping of complete bangers.   Away from the mum-in, we've got musical highlights of the week from the likes of Young Fathers and Beach House, and a story about a peanut butter sandwich that you won't want to miss.   So big thanks for downloading, and we'll see you next week. • #051 - Lennon Soul

    14/03/2017 Duración: 01h12min

15 years ago the wondrous city of Liverpool bestowed an enormous honour upon one of its most famous sons: renaming their airport as 'Liverpool John Lennon'. Fitting, touching and perfect, and an anniversary well worth celebrating. So as our tribute to the great man, we decided to pick our favourite Lennon tunes, some new music influenced by his everlasting legacy and some artists who we feel may (or may not) deserve similar tributes in their hometowns. Away from Liverpool, we've got musical highlights of the week and your usual helping of laughs, chatter and general nonsense. It's another bumper episode, and we're delighted you've chosen to tune in. Cheers. We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. • #050 - The Paper Anniversary

    08/03/2017 Duración: 01h41min

March 8th is one of the most important dates in the Tracks calendar. It was the day in 2016 when we released our very first episode, “#001 - Hello”, and today we’re marking the occasion by dropping our 50th exactly a year later. A long road, a lot of laughs and a half century. What a beautiful thing. To celebrate such an occasion, the challenge was simple - we each had to give the other 3 musical anniversary gifts. 3 songs we knew the other wouldn’t have heard of. 3 songs we knew they’d love. With pressure and difficulty levels at an all time high, how would we fare? Tune in to find out. While we’re here, we’d just like to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported the podcast throughout this debut year. We’re lazy people and we’d almost certainly have packed it in a long time ago if it wasn’t for you, so thank you for keeping us going. We love ya. • #049 - Pancake Day: Who Gives A Toss?

    28/02/2017 Duración: 01h19min

It’s Pancake Day in the UK, and we’re celebrating the only way we know how – by picking big tunes with unbelievably convoluted connections to the big event.  This week, we’re talking about acts who won us over from a place of indifference (we couldn’t give a ‘toss’ – see the pancake connection now?!), to being fully-fledged fans. There’s recognition for tracks from the likes of The Stranglers, Christine and the Queens, TV On The Radio and Blossoms, and plenty of bad punning and good podcasting along the way. Away from the main theme, there are musical highlights of the week from The Magic Gang and Thundercat. These are two acts who have got us super excited, and we can’t wait to share them with you. So it’s a big thanks for tuning in, and we’ll see you next week. We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. • #048 - 1991: An Even Brighter Star Is Born

    21/02/2017 Duración: 01h24min

As regular listeners will know, 1993 was a musical year befitting of the birth of our very own Harry. In honour of his birthday a few weeks ago we picked wall-to-wall bangers from the year of his birth, and as our other co-host Tim prepares to turn 26, we're heading back to 1991 to do the same for him. It's a suitably retro playlist to celebrate the birthday of somebody who is fast approaching the big 3-0, but with tracks by the likes of Saint Etienne, Electric and Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, there's more than enough to get you dancing. So it's a big, massive happy birthday to Tim, and an even bigger thank you to you for tuning in. You and he are the best, and we'll see you next week. Peace. • #047 - A Certain Romance

    14/02/2017 Duración: 01h23min

It's Valentine's Day and love is in the air. We're back again this week with an episode to help you through this most romantic of days. Whether you're celebrating with another or you're flying solo, we've got your back. Our mission statement for the episode was clear - pick romantic, love-filled music that isn't completely awful. No cheesy lyrics. No novelty factor. No sickly sweet sentiment. Just great tunes about the big L-O-V-E. This week's selections included the likes Villagers, Arctic Monkeys, De La Soul, Billy Bragg and Wilco, and it makes for bloomin' beautiful listening. Have a good one everyone. Until next week, we love ya x We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. • #046 - Summer Plannin', Had Me A Blast

    07/02/2017 Duración: 01h17min

With the first month of 2017 having already flown by, we're setting our sights firmly on the future; specifically, Summer Twenty Seventeen ™. Festival line-ups are popping out left, right and centre and we can barely contain our excitement about them all. So, this week, we're previewing the best destinations for music, mates and madness. There are shouts for festivals from New York to Yorkshire, meaning there's no chance of missing out on the fun. Aside from all that festival malarky, we've got some stone-cold bangers for you. Sampha, Snail Mail, Toots and the Maytals, Honeyblood, Sinkane and Isaiah Rashad all get a spin in 1 hour and 18 minutes of unadulterated podcasting excellence. Enjoy. • #045 - Choose Life

    31/01/2017 Duración: 01h25min

Choose a life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a podcast. Choose Tracks. Choose episode 45. Trainspotting is one of the most iconic British movies of all time, and is remembered almost as much for the soundtrack as for the picture itself. So, with the long-awaited sequel T2 Trainspotting finally hitting out screens last weekend, we decided to pay tribute to the original by putting together a soundtrack to our own meandering existences thus far. Featuring tracks from the likes of Gorillaz, The Vaccines, Ghostpoet and Loyle Carner, it's a big, big episode. Cheers for tuning in. Enjoy! • #044 - January's Blue (Da Ba Dee Da Ba Daa)

    24/01/2017 Duración: 01h04min

January can be a tough month - the money's low, the weather's cold and he post-Christmas glow is well and truly gone - but fear not, because Tracks is here to guide you through this turbulent time in one piece. Allow us to deliver our songs and tips for January survival. There are huge tracks from the likes of Bonobo, The xx, Little Richard and The Jam as well as your usual helping of inane babble from us. It's a good'un. Enjoy. We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. • #043 - 1993: A Star Is Born

    17/01/2017 Duración: 01h03min

Many remarkable things happened in 1993. Bill Clinton was elected President. Whitney Houston spent nine weeks at number one. Tom Hanks won his first Oscar. Most important, however, was the birth of a little fella in Brighton, UK. Our very own Harry turned up, and this week we're celebrating his 24th birthday. To honour such an occasion, we went way back to '93 and took a look at the best music from that year. There are huge tunes that still stand up today from the likes of Nirvana, Cypress Hill and Ace of Bass, and a load of Harry-based chat too. So it's a thanks from us for downloading, and many happy returns to the main man. We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. • #042 - New Year, New Musical Resolutions

    10/01/2017 Duración: 01h01min

We kick off 2017 by setting ourselves three musical resolutions for the year to come. These will play a big part shaping what we listen to this year, so will have a big impact on Tracks. Make sure you're in at the start so you know what the heck is going on for the next 12 months!   There's great music in the episode from the likes of Radiohead, The Get Rids, Deap Vally and Billie Holiday in what is a perfect episode to kick off the year. • #041 - The Best of 2016

    03/01/2017 Duración: 29min

It was the debut year for Tracks, and one we'll never forget. Throughout 2016, we met up every week and shared the music we love, had a beer or two and laughed our little socks off. This episode contains the best bits of those conversations and our year.   If you've joined us on that journey, then this episode will hopefully contain some of your favourite moments too. If you've only just arrived, then this will give you a taste of what you've missed. We'll be back next week with our first brand new episode of what promises to be an amazing year. Until then, have a great start to 2017. Cheers! We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. • A Tracks Show Holiday Message

    27/12/2016 Duración: 05min

This time of year is all about being with the ones you love, and whilst we do indeed love each other, our parents and siblings had to take president this week. We've both headed home and that means, sadly, there is no full episode for you guys today.   Instead, we recorded a quick message for you all, so enjoy 5 minutes of chaos as the one and only Ben Brooks rejoins us in the studio to wish each and every one of you a happy, fun-filled, joyous festive season. We'll be back next Tuesday with a full episode, but until then, peace and love, Tim and Harry x We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode. The Tracks Awards 2016 draw to a close this week, with our album of the year nominees serving up a fitting finale.   For us, this was the most prestigious award we could possibly bestow, and therefore a huge amount of consideration went into the selection of our final 20 acts. But, ultimately, only one thing matters: who will win? Who's taking home that gleaming, glistening trophy? Tune in to find out. As this is our last episode until the new year, we just wanted to take a moment to thank each and every one of you who has tuned in during our debut year of 2016. Your support has meant the world to us. THANK YOU. We wish you the merriest of Christmases and a very happy new year. We do not claim ownership of any of the music played in this episode.
