In this session, we take a look at the Jerusalem ruling that was given in Acts 15 and how that relates to the uniting of the 12 tribes of Israel. The uniting of the 12 tribes of Israel is referred to as the “restoring of the tabernacle of David.” A matter of controversy arose between Paul/Barnabus and the Pharisees.The controversy was this: What do we do with these non-Jews coming into the faith? How do we receive them into the fold? The Pharisees basically wanted them to go through a “conversion process” of converting to Judaism, (which means you are going to follow the Oral law/Talmud) and then as a “sign” that you have converted, you were to get physically circumcised. Paul and Barnabus strongly disagreed. They taught that the weightier matter was to be circumcised in heart and then to follow the written Torah of Yeshua. Paul and Barnabus took this matter to a council of elders/apostles in Jerusalem to get a ruling on the matter. In doing so, they were following the Torah. How is this ruling related to

Luke 11:37-38 Why did the Pharisee marvel? The ancient Pharisees, which is now modern day Orthodox Judaism, elevates the Oral Torah ABOVE the written Torah. The authority of the rabbis is supreme. In Orthodox Judaism, the Talmud (Oral Torah) instructs that it is mandatory to wash your hands before you eat a meal with bread even if your hands don’t need washing. You can be excommunicated for not washing your hands. The Pharisees of Yeshua’s time, and the Orthodox Jews today, follow the Oral Torah/Talmud. This is not in the written Torah. That is why the Pharisee marveled. In this session, we are going to look at the miracle feeding of 5,000. Yeshua uses 5 barley loaves, and two fishes, and there are 12 baskets of leftover remnants. Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Yeshua entered into a marriage covenant with his bride, the house of Jacob at Mt Sinai. His bride built the golden calf, committing spiritual harlotry, and in doing so, the house of Jacob got exiled into the nations of the world. The penalty that came upon the house of Jacob, or the whole house of Israel, was the penalty of an adulterous woman that breaks the marriage covenant. In this session, we are going to look at what is the difference between Mt Sinai and Mt Zion. When the children of Israel came out of Egypt, they were delivered and saved by grace through faith. By faith, they put the blood of the lamb on the doorposts and Yeshua delivered them out of Egypt. Then they came to Mt Sinai where Yeshua is going to offer them a marriage proposal (or a ketubah). Let’s summarize what we have learned so far: *The children of Israel were redeemed out of Egypt by grace through faith *At Mt Sinai, they were given the Torah. This was instruction on how to live their lives as a redeemed people. *The name of Yeshua’s covenant family is the house of Jacob. BOTH of these branches will be grafted back into the tree, which represents Israel.
