Are we making God in our own image?
31/08/2020 Duración: 48minDoes our picture of God shape who we are, or do we select our picture of God that matches our desires and likes? And if it is the second does that mean we are making God into our own image? After all our life experiences shape how we see the world and how we interpret it, a good example of this is the change in how we see things now to how we saw them 10 years ago. As such does this limit of experience limit how much of God we understand or what aspects of God we understand?

Jesus Rejected At Nazareth
27/07/2020 Duración: 53minThis episode we explore the story of Jesus visiting Nazareth, found in Mark 6:1-6. We discuss how it's interesting that those we grew up around often look at us as, the way we were a few years ago rather than where we are in our walk now, and Jesus’ experience was no different to that. We also made an unexpected application regarding how the great commission to go to the world is about freeing us from our slavery in sin and how like the Israelites of old we mistake it for another form of slavery

Essentialism and Faith
29/06/2020 Duración: 40minHow does essentialism help our faith and walk with God? In this episode we talk about getting more out of life by focusing on what is truly important to us. We all live such busy lives these days and its so hard to fit everything in, and because of this it’s important to find out if we have things in our lives that are not as important as others, so if we do have to cut back on something we know what is most important. I know we at ATT are guilty when it comes to over committing in life so come along as we struggle with this principle

Which Lives Matter?
15/06/2020 Duración: 01h22minWe find ourselves caught in a world of competing narratives about race. "Black lives matter!" "All lives matter!" "Calm down, let's just preach the gospel." "Advocating for social justice IS the Gospel!". With all of this going on it is easy to miss the point, It is also easy to stick your head in the sand and keep living your own life.We have crafted this as a "listening" episode, we all took some time to read, learn, listen and pray our way through these complicated issues (as well as organise guests who have experienced racism first hand) and this episode is the result. No matter where you stand on the issue, we implore you to listen, and if you are willing, start with this episode. Many thanks to our contributorsHeather Thompson DayBenjamin Amoah (The Auricle Podcast)Kelly JackmanEric Jean-Baptiste (Youth Ministry & Mentorship 101)Eva Liao

When Leaders Fail
08/06/2020 Duración: 44minLeaders impact our lives in so many ways but often we forget that they are human too and can fail just like anyone else. We don’t have to agree with 100% of what they are teaching to learn and grow from them and if they fail, we can continue the ideas that they teach if we follow the message rather than the cult of personality leaders have. Even if they don’t fail sometimes the lives of our leaders are tragically cut short but if we have learnt their message and internalised it, their legacy can continue even after they are gone. While re-listening and editing this episode, I was thinking about the impact of the movements that both Martin Luther and Martin Luther King Jr were the catalysts for. Luther and the protestant movement brought about religious freedom to believe what our conscious dictates shifting the western world from one of oppression to the freedom renaissance and our modern world. King pushed forward the movement that no matter our skin colour and racial background we are all equal under God an
