We all live with some degree of anxiety. Unfortunately, there’s been a concerning trend over the last several years where many people are experiencing a level that affects even their normal day-to-day activities. It’s in Philippians 4:6 that the apostle Paul tells us, “Do not be anxious about anything.” But with so much to alarm us these days, is this admonition to Christ-followers even possible? However it is often limited to being defined by just belief. In his letter to fellow believers, James reminds us that faith isn’t just an intellectual work—faith produces practical application and action in our lives that provides evidence of what we actually believe. And when we align that with who God is, following Jesus means we have a faith that isn’t just theoretical—it works.

Waiting for suffering to end just seems to prolong our pain and lead to bitterness, envy, or despair. Hope can see elusive. This week, we discuss how God works in the midst of our waiting, and how we can find hope in the promise and purpose that God has for us.
