Jump Start - Good Friends
12/01/2020 Duración: 34minDrive a car long enough, and the time will come when you turn the ignition key -- and nothing happens. Odds are that you have a dead battery, and you need a jump start. Sometimes faith is like that -- like when you're facing a life-struggle and your faith is getting you nowhere. That's when you need a different kind of jump start. The good news is that there are fundamental faith practices that can rev up your spiritual engine. And in our sermon series called Jump Start, we'll discuss five that can give us confidence as Christ-followers that God is with us all the way.

The Waiting Room
29/12/2019 Duración: 29min“The waiting is the hardest part” In Tom Petty’s famous song “The Waiting”, he talks about how waiting can be one of the more difficult parts of life. The same goes with waiting on God. We typically expect God to answer prayers on our timetable. In reality he fulfills our prayers based on His timetable and His will. Sometimes this can simply be uncomfortable and other times it can be downright painful. Listen today as our worship director, Chip Prior, talks about how focusing on gratitude and leaning into the discomfort of waiting can be bring us closer to God and His will for our lives.

The Greatest Prayer - Jesus’ Prayer for All Believers
25/11/2019 Duración: 28minWe can find Jesus' longest recorded prayer in John 17. Sometimes referred to as Christ's high priestly prayer -- and regarded by many as His greatest -- it represents what He valued as He neared the end of His ministry and life. Likewise, it can serve as an inspiration for what composes our own prayer lives in our communion with God: our lives, the lives of fellow disciples, and the lives of disciples to come.

Enemies of the Heart - Jealousy
03/11/2019 Duración: 28minSometimes it seems like they come out of nowhere -- those feelings and emotions that surface in life-altering and damaging ways. And even if we're not entirely sure how they got there, they all come from the same place: our heart. That's why Scripture tells us to guard our heart. Everything we say and do flows from what's affecting us within. In our sermon series Enemies of the Heart, we'll look at four emotions that we all battle: guilt, anger, jealousy and greed. Left unchallenged they threaten to ruin the heart God wants for us. But when we know how to fight back, we experience the healing that God's grace can provide.

Good Work - Kingdom Work
06/10/2019 Duración: 29minWe spend about 90,000 hours of our lives working. Couple this with the overwhelming percentage of people reporting dissatisfaction with their job, and work seems more like a necessary evil than a way for us to experience God's goodness. It can be difficult to see how God intends faith and work to intersect. So it's in our sermon series Good Work that we'll explore how God's original intent was for work to be a gift.

Compassion Sunday
02/09/2019 Duración: 23minWhere we find the name "Jesus" and the word "compassion" together in the Bible, we also find significant action toward helping others. The compassion Jesus had for the people surrounding him moved him to alleviate some of their physical concerns as part of sharing the Gospel. And the compassion Jesus has for us is meant to inspire us to show compassion to those around us.
