Much of it will be temporary, but there will be some memories or even new realities that we'll carry with us for years to come. And while it can be difficult to navigate the changes that change everything, there's one change that takes care of the rest. With our minds set on the new life we have through Jesus, our New Normal gives us the well-being to move forward without having to look back.

And if you went to church as a kid, maybe you discovered that "Jesus" is often the correct answer to most questions about faith. It's true in this case as well, but it's not His teachings or His healings that top the list. Instead, it's His death, burial and resurrection that are Of First Importance, which happens to be the title of our current sermon series at Velocity.

Whether it's a simple log placed over a narrow creek or a steel architectural marvel spanning a raging river, bridges have long been the solution for traversing obstacles in our path. With the right materials, ingenuity and effort, previously unreachable places become accessible. As Christ-followers, we need to span the obstacle of sin with a bridge for reaching others about Jesus. But through His sacrifice on the cross for you and me -- along with the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit -- we can be part of the bridge-building that spans generations of Believers who have shared their faith with others. And that's particularly important in this day when many are more interested in burning bridges than building them.
