Jesus calming the storm is a common story of the Bible that most of you know. But have you ever thought about why Jesus delayed going to the disciples in the storm? Lazarus has died, and his family went through the entire process of burying him. In the midst of their grief, Jesus tells the disciples that He is glad that He wasn’t there to stop Lazarus from getting sick and dying. NOW was the time for Jesus to strengthen their faith! When facing a Lazarus situation, the enemy will try to cloud your mind with emotions and thoughts that God could have stopped it. But what if we peel back those emotions and thoughts, and receive Jesus’s red letters for the truth that they are? What if God needs our faith strengthened for what is to come? The days between the resurrection and the Day of Pentecost are not what any of Jesus’s followers expected. There was disappointment. Expectations about Jesus were not met. Even though Jesus said what he was going to do, the disciples did not keep an open mind for HOW Jesus would do what he said.
