  • Wrestlemania 27 Preview

    01/04/2011 Duración: 35min

Alex previews Wrestlemania 27 by giving us comprehensive picks, predictions, and thoughts. First, Alex discusses the final week of Wrestlemania build. Is The Miz now once again clearly the antagonist with John Cena and The Rock? Has Alberto Del Rio gained enough heat against Edge? How good of a job did Shawn Michaels do in the final buildup to Triple H and Undertaker? Then, Alex analyzes Wrestlemania. He talks about how much people want to see Michael Cole get his butt kicked by Jerry Lawler, whether Del Rio will win the Heavyweight Championship or if Cena will win the WWE Championship, how The Rock and Cena interact, if the Undertaker's streak will be broken by Triple H, and more. One thing is for certain, though...Alex feels the focus of Wrestlemania 27 should be on the active regular wrestlers, and not The Rock, Steve Austin, Triple H, Undertaker, etc. The "Wrestlemania 27 Prediction Game" is up and running on the message boards at www.thesportsstuff.com/boards! Feel free to submit your picks unti

  • Wrestling Is Officially A Dirty Word In The WWE

    29/03/2011 Duración: 33min

Wrestlemania is only 9 short days away...next week on the message boards (www.thesportsstuff.com/boards) Alex will start the "Wrestlemania Prediction Game" thread. The winner receives a Starbucks gift card delivered to their doorstep! This week was another week in the Wrestlemania build. The continued heat gained by Michael Cole, an awkward Randy Orton/CM Punk angle, The Miz/John Cena, and much more is discussed. Plus, does the decision to have Alberto Del Rio lose 2 consecutive weeks on Smackdown make sense? Plus, TNA's attempt to rectify the abomination that was "Victory Road," and the WWE scolding media outlets for referring to them as a "wrestling company" is talked about too. The "piledrivin' post of the week" (www.thesportsstuff.com/boards) is handed out as well. "The Alex Reimer Show" airs live at a special time this Saturday (3/26) from 1-3 PM EST live from the bioball charity basketball tournament on 1120 AM WBNW Boston, www.moneymattersradio.net, and www.livestream.com/wbnw1120.

  • Michael Cole Is Developing Nuclear Heat

    19/03/2011 Duración: 37min

Alex discusses another week of Wrestlemania build, in which a Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler segment once again highlighted RAW. The reason why the segment this week was the best on the show was because it accomplished exactly what it set out to accomplish...make Michael Cole even more dislikable than he was before it. Mission accomplished! The Miz's newfound "edge," The Rock cutting another taped promo on John Cena, SNOOKI, and much more is talked about too. Plus, does more need to be done with Triple H vs. Undertaker? On the Smackdown side of things, Alex looks at the continued interaction between Edge and Alberto Del Rio. Are they developing more of a grudge against each other? Also, is Sheamus back in the good graces of Kevin Dunn? In the "Finisher" segment, the "piledrivin' post of the week" (www.thesportsstuff.com/boards) is handed out, as Alex rants about TNA making the decision to have Jeff Hardy wrestle a 1 minute championship match at "Victory Road" because he was deemed "incapable to wrestle

  • Stone Cold Steve Austin Steals The Show

    11/03/2011 Duración: 44min

Stone Cold Steve Austin can steal a show like no one else can...huh? Alex talks about the terrific segment on RAW involving Austin, JBL, and Michael Cole. This match is certainly not a "midcard sideshow," and segments like that illustrate that point. John Cena cut yet another lame promo on RAW this week. Is it really so hard to book him in a manner in which he's not an appalling figure to anybody over the age of 10? Randy Orton vs. CM Punk, Triple H vs. Undertaker, and much more is discussed as well. Plus, just how needed was the "edge" that The Miz has seemingly developed over the past couple of weeks? In the "Finisher" segment, Alex touches upon Trish's return to in-ring action next week, and how far women's wrestling within the WWE has fallen since Trish left a couple of short years ago. Your participation in the show keeps "No Holds Barred" running. Post on the boards at www.thesportsstuff.com/boards! "The Alex Reimer Show" airs Saturday's from 3-5 PM EST on 1120 AM WBNW Boston, www.moneymat

  • John Cena's Flaws Continue To Be Exposed

    05/03/2011 Duración: 38min

Alex breaks down this week's RAW, and continues to say that The Rock's presence exposes John Cena's flaws like they've never been exposed before. Hasn't the time come to revamp the Cena character? But can it be done without ruining his appeal to the younger demographic? Questions, questions, questions... Jack Swagger's unnecessary involvement with Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler, Randy Orton/CM Punk, and Triple H's promo from RAW this week are all discussed too. The "piledrivin' post of the week" (www.thesportsstuff.com/boards) is handed out as well. On the Smackdown side of things, Alex dishes on the handling of Alberto Del Rio, Cody Rhodes' rise, and more. Plus, when will Vickie come back?!?! In the "Finisher" segment, Alex says that though it's perfectly appropriate to put the focus on The Rock, Triple H, Undertaker, etc prior to Wrestlemania, the focus should be taken off of them once Wrestlemania begins. Who should the focus be put on then, you ask? Listen and find out! "The Alex Reimer Show

  • Undertaker And Triple H Returned This Week To Build Up The A

    26/02/2011 Duración: 34min

The "road to Wrestlemania" is fully underway, and Alex breaks it all down. Last week The Rock made his return, and this week both the Undertaker and Triple H did. How much hype will Undertaker vs. Triple H generate for Wrestlemania? How will the WWE build up this "clash of the titans?" How will we see The Miz and John Cena booked? Are we going to see an "edgier" Cena, as he returned to "thuganomics" this past week on RAW? The Elimination Chamber PPV, the Randy Orton and CM Punk feud, Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole, and the horrendous handling of Dolph Ziggler is discussed as well. The "piledrivin' post of the week" (www.thesportsstuff.com/boards) is handed out. In the "Finisher" segment Alex looks at the WWE's tendency to fall in-love, and then quickly out of love with some supposed "rising young stars." "The Alex Reimer Show" airs Saturday's from 3-5 PM EST on 1120 AM WBNW Boston, www.moneymattersradio.net, and www.livestream.com/wbnw1120.

  • The Rock Is Back!

    20/02/2011 Duración: 42min

The Rock is back! It's MASSIVE news, and Alex breaks it all down. Is this the proper use of the guest-host gimmick? How much interest will this build for Wrestlemania? Just how good is The Rock? How inferior does he make a guy like John Cena look in comparison? All of these questions are answered! (Plus, Alex plays an extended clip of The Rock's tremendous promo from RAW this week as well.) Alex also briefly touches upon the rest of RAW, including what he thought were some excellent matches. The way Dolph Ziggler was handled on Smackdown this week, and the Elimination Chamber PPV was talked about too. The "piledrivin' post of the week" (www.thesportsstuff.com/boards) is handed out, and in the "Finisher" segment, Alex discusses another Wrestlemania rumor (Triple H vs. Undertaker with Shawn Michaels as the guest referee). How much of a commentary is all of this on Vince's uneasiness with trusting the fate of Wrestlemania in the hands of the "young guys?" "The Alex Reimer Show" airs Saturday's from

  • The Wrestling Observer's Todd Martin Discusses Wrestlemania

    12/02/2011 Duración: 35min

Alex interviews Todd Martin of The Wrestling Observer. Alex and Todd talk about the latest Wrestlemania rumors, including how the guest-host may be. Why is there a guest-host anyway? Is it because Vince is concerned about the potential for a low buyrate? Michael Cole's heel persona as well as the initiative to push new stars is mentioned as well. The "piledrivin' post of the week" (www.thesportsstuff.com/boards) is handed out, and Alex gives his own take on the past week in WWE TV. Plus, Alex reveals what arguably the worst 30 seconds in television history were. "The Alex Reimer Show" airs Saturday's from 3-5 PM EST on 1120 AM WBNW Boston, www.moneymattersradio.net, and www.livestream.com/wbnw1120.

  • Wrestlemania 27 Landscape Finally Taking Shape

    05/02/2011 Duración: 39min

Alex analyzes all of the Royal Rumble fall out, including the WWE deciding to "finally fully push the lever" on propping up young talent by having Alberto Del Rio win the Rumble. Wade Barrett had a strong showing as well, which should set him up nicely for his Wrestlemania encounter with the Undertaker (yes, the reports are that the Undertaker will return on 2/21...not Sting). The terrible booking of The Miz as WWE Champion is discussed too. Why not put him over cleanly against Randy Orton? Why have another meaningless "champion vs. champion" match with Edge on RAW? The Orton/CM Punk feud, as well as whether Dolph Ziggler having a short reign with the World Heavweight Championship is realistic is talked about as well. The continued push of Jerry Lawler, Nexus vs. The Corre, and the future of Kevin Nash and Booker T are also brought up. The "piledrivin' post of the week" (www.thesportsstuff.com/boards) is handed out, and in the "Finisher" segment, Alex questions Vince McMahon's decision to pursue

  • Alberto Del Rio Should Win The Royal Rumble!

    31/01/2011 Duración: 38min

Alex previews this Sunday's Royal Rumble, and talks about how the WWE continues to go through a "transitional period." Alex believes that it's time to "push the level forward" on these "new guys," and thus that's why he thinks The Miz has to beat Randy Orton cleanly, Dolph Ziggler has to have a respectable showing against Edge, and Alberto Del Rio should win the Royal Rumble. Alex also talks about the roles that John Cena, Wade Barrett, CM Punk, and the "likely to be returning" Triple H may play in the Rumble, too. The handling of The Miz and Dolph Ziggler heading into the PPV is discussed too. The "piledrivin' post of the week" (www.thesportsstuff.com/boards) is handed out too. In the "Finisher" segment, Alex puts an end to the Brock Lesnar and Wrestlemania rumors by saying that this story is a strong indication of how the WWE's mainstream perception has really changed over the past number of years. "The Alex Reimer Show" airs Saturday's from 3-5 PM EST on 1120 AM WBNW Boston, www.moneymattersradio.n

  • Royal Rumble Beginning To Take Shape

    21/01/2011 Duración: 34min

Alex breaks down the latest wrestling news, including the announcement that the Royal Rumble has been expanded to 40 people. Alex also talks about the continuation of the CM Punk and John Cena feud as well as Mason Ryan's debut. Alex also tells you why The Miz's beat down of Randy Orton was much needed, why John Morrison needs to become a heel again, and why they're almost ruining Sheamus. The direction of Alberto Del Rio, the Edge/Dolph Ziggler feud, and general show outline of Smackdown is mentioned as well. The "piledrivin' post of the week" (www.thesportsstuff.com/boards) is handed out, as conversation continues about whether all of the new stars built recently will see their brand rise or fall in 2011. In the "Finisher" segment, Alex wonders why the decision to push or not push somebody can't be more simple... "The Alex Reimer Show" airs Saturday's from 3-5 PM EST on 1120 AM WBNW Boston, www.moneymattersradio.net, and www.livestream.com/wbnw1120.

  • Triple H Is The Man In Charge: Good Or Bad?

    14/01/2011 Duración: 34min

Alex talks about the latest wrestling news, including the most recent reports that Triple H's pull within the company has increased recently. Is that a good or bad thing? Do we even know whether that's a good or bad thing? Alex also discusses CM Punk leading a "new" Nexus while Wade Barrett forms his own version of Nexus on Smackdown. Which man is better suited to lead a group? John Cena's proclivity for ruining serious angles with childish jokes, the Edge/Dolph Ziggler feud, Miz/Randy Orton, and much more is touched upon too. The "piledrivin' post of the week" (www.thesportsstuff.com/boards) is handed out, and in the "Finisher" segment, Alex comes forth with a theory as to why the WWE is seemingly refusing to higher any wrestlers above the age of 30 (hint: they don't want "wrestlers"). "The Alex Reimer Show" airs Saturday's from 1-3 PM EST on 1120 AM WBNW Boston, www.moneymattersradio.net, and www.livestream.com/wbnw1120.

  • The Miz And Other New Stars Look Towards Success In 2011

    07/01/2011 Duración: 31min

Alex is back from South Beach and ready to kick off 2011! Alex discusses the first editions of RAW and Smackdown in 2011. RAW opened with a falls count anywhere championship match involving The Miz and Morrison, while Smackdown opened with a falls count anywhere championship match involving Edge and Kane. Wrestling shows with good wrestling matches on them? Who knew it was possible? Alex talks about the push of Alberto Del Rio in 2011, and what the future holds for Wade Barrett. He also gives his take on CM Punk taking over as the leader of Nexus and The Miz taking on Randy Orton at the Royal Rumble. The "piledrivin' post of the week" (www.thesportsstuff.com/boards) is handed out, as Alex and the posters on the message boards talk about whether all of the new stars created in 2010 will prosper or flounder in the 2011. In the "Finisher" segment, Alex rants about the new revelation that Dustin Rhodes wrestled impaired while in TNA in 2005. "The Alex Reimer Show" airs this Saturday from 1-3 PM EST on

  • The Wrestling Observer's Dan Wahlers Recaps The Year In The

    24/12/2010 Duración: 40min

Alex interviews Dan Wahlers of the "Wrestling Observer." Alex and Dan discuss some of the biggest stories from the year in the WWE, including the emphasis put on developing new stars and the continued "PG" direction of the product. They also talk about where the WWE may go in early 2011 as we head towards the Royal Rumble. Alex also briefly recaps the TLC PPV, hands out the "piledrivin' post of the week" (www.thesportsstuff.com/boards), and much more! Thanks for another great year. The next edition of "No Holds Barred" will be published on Friday, January 7th! The next "Alex Reimer Show" will air on Saturday, January 8th on 1120 AM WBNW Boston, www.moneymattersradio.net, and www.livestream.com/wbnw1120.

  • TLC PPV May Suffer From The Way Survivor Series Was Handled

    17/12/2010 Duración: 36min

Alex previews this Sunday's "TLC" PPV, and wonders whether the poor handling of "Survivor Series" will affect the buys for it. The results of "Survivor Series" were rendered meaningless less than 24 hours after it aired, so will there will be a boycott of sorts when it comes to "TLC?" Every match is a gimmick match, but that of course isn't the interesting part of the show. The interesting part is, where will they go in regards with the WWE Championship? Why did they feel the need to add in Rey Mysterio and Alberto Del Rio to the World Heavyweight Championship match? The "Slammy" awards, John Cena's return (shocking...not), and the state of Smackdown's midcard is discussed as well. The "piledrivin' post of the week" (www.thesportsstuff.com/boards) is handed out too. In the "Finisher" segment, Alex looks at the continued possibility of Brock Lesnar making an appearance at Wrestlemania, and the rumor that Jeff Hardy has been working TNA shows while intoxicated. Next week is the "unofficial 2010 year in

  • John Cena "Firing" Storyline Misses On All Cylinders

    10/12/2010 Duración: 33min

Alex will be 18 on Sunday, so this is his last show as a "minor!" Now he can legally sign himself out of school, buy cigarettes, and scratch tickets! Alex discusses the John Cena "firing" storyline, and says that it does harm to everybody involved. It does harm to Wade Barrett, John Cena, and makes all future PPV stipulations look like a joke. Alex also gives his take on the emerging heel character of Michael Cole, Miz vs. Randy Orton, and the total failure of John Morrison's face character. The continue Edge/Kane feud, and where it's leading, as well as the handling of Alberto Del Rio is discussed too. The "piledrivin' post of the week" (www.thesportsstuff.com/boards) is handed out in the "Finisher" segment, where MVP's release from the WWE is talked about. "The Alex Reimer Show" airs this Saturday in its new permanent time slot from 1-3 PM EST on 1120 AM WBNW Boston, www.moneymattersradio.net, and www.livestream.com/wbnw1120.

  • The Miz Is WWE Champion!

    03/12/2010 Duración: 36min

Alex breaks down a litany of topics after taking last week off due to the Thanksgiving weekend. He starts by analyzing Survivor Series, and whether the events that have transpired on RAW the past couple of weeks has virtually deemed that PPV to be irrelevant. Is that the wisest thing for a company that wants to increase its PPV numbers? John (or Juan) Cena never really left, which leads to the question, "why write an angle which you have no intention on following up on?" Also, was the right decision made to have The Miz win the WWE Championship on free TV opposed to PPV? How long will The Miz's title reign last? The continued emergence of Michael Cole's histrionic heel character, Sheamus winning "King of the Ring," and Edge's feud with Kane are discussed too. Are the Syfy executives maybe behind Kane's rather lengthy run as World Heavyweight Champion? (Don't worry, Alex explains that line of reasoning). The "piledrivin' post of the week" (www.thesportsstuff.com/boards) is handed out, and in the "Fini

  • Jim Ross And Michael Cole Represent A Parallel In Wrestling

    20/11/2010 Duración: 44min

Alex answers all of the questions submitted to him on the message boards this week (www.thesportsstuff.com/boards). The questions covered a variety of fascinating topics, from TNA's future to who the 5 most undervalued guys in WWE history are. Alex praises this week's "old school" edition of RAW, as they did a great job balancing nostalgia with building the current product. The "Piper's Pit" segment was one of the best sells for a PPV match in a long time. Jim Ross returned to call Daniel Bryan/Jack Swagger, and Alex talks about how according to Vince McMahon, JR represents wrestling from a "bygone era." Michael Cole is a "TV host," whereas JR is a "wrestling announcer." Vince now views his shows are TV programs, and not wrestling events. Survivor Series is this Sunday. Will Edge win the World Heavyweight Championship from Kane? How will they play John Cena? Will he turn full-fledged heel, or will there be "confusion" in regards to the finisher (for the record, Alex feels that Wade Barrett defea

  • John Cena Character Should Get Shaken Up At Survivor Series

    12/11/2010 Duración: 31min

Alex recaps this week's edition of RAW, where more intrigue was added to the Randy Orton/Wade Barrett match at Survivor Series. Will the WWE use this as an opportunity to really shake up John Cena's character? Will they go "all the way" and turn him heel (or even can they)? Alex also gives his opinion on the Santino/Sheamus "Tea Party" and says that he was completely wrong about the program involving those two. On Smackdown, Alex gives his take on the build to Edge and Kane. Is Edge going to win the title from Kane? If he does, is he just going to serve as a transitional champion until the Undertaker returns from injury? Where does David Otunga go from here, after pinning Edge due to interference? The "piledrivin' post of the week" (www.thesportsstuff.com/boards) is handed out, and in the "Finisher" segment, Alex talks about "WWE Old School" next Monday night and whether it's the best use of television time. Next Friday (11/19), you guys will pick the topics! Alex has a thread on the message board

  • Linda McMahon Losing The Race Will Have A Positive Effect O

    05/11/2010 Duración: 36min

Alex talks about a plethora of wrestling-related topics, including how the end of Linda McMahon's Senate campaign will affect the on-air presentation of the WWE product. Will we now see less of the "Stand Up for the WWE" vignettes? Alex also talks about this week's edition of RAW, and how the Wade Barrett and John Cena storyline continues to progress. The comedy on RAW this week was pretty good, so thus the show was pretty good. But is that a good commentary on the product as a whole? David Otunga led Nexus (without Barrett) into Smackdown this week, and Nexus lost a main event tag team match. Will that factor into the Otunga/Barrett storyline? The "piledrivin' post of the week" (www.thesportsstuff.com/boards) is handed out, and in the "Finisher" segment, Alex asks the question, "is Vince McMahon really a nice guy?" "The Alex Reimer Show" airs Saturday's from 4-6 PM EST on 1120 AM WBNW Boston, www.moneymattersradio.net, and www.livestream.com/wbnw1120 (this Saturday, 11/6, "The Alex Reimer Show" wil
